Hi ladies.
DH found out the service in N Texas is tomorrow. Graveside only.
Found out other one is Mon at 10 am .

He just made donations in their memory as requested.

Shelby's party was great. She got WAY too much stuff. DIL's mother goes so over the top, it's pretty bizarre really. DH says she just needs to be the center of attention. He told DS1 a long time ago we will not be competing with her ! I bet she spent at least $400 ~~ totally crazy...... Her theme was butterflies ! Pretty and warm day - perfect for a party ( kinda windy though ) . She had a blast !

Got a big load of groceries after the party. All LC Today was day 1 back. Tummy issues resolved too (TMI)
Did not eat the pizza and cake..... well I had the top of 2 small pieces of pizza. No crust. No cake. No sweet tea.

Wyatt slept through the whole party except to wake up once to eat. Boy he sleeps good ! It was loud and everyone was holding him. He was just sacked out <3

Back to work last shift tomorrow.

ttyl !

Good for you getting back on track!
The birthday sounds like it was fun. Guess MIL has money to burn, might as well!
Yay on last shift! Then you can be headache-free at home!

Oh heck no ! She blows her money and then whines that she can't pay her bills ;/
Very indulgent personality, but I do like her. She's broke most of the time though....

That's too bad that they had the funerals so close together but in a way, it let you off the hook. DH can spend time on the phone, talking to the ones who are going through the most heartache back home where they live. That always means a lot. Phone calls periodically after the phone has gone very quiet is always nice. Seems everyone rally's around you when it's just happened and for several weeks after, then it's all over.

Funny how Wyatt loves to sleep. Silly that some people go so crazy with their money and gifts. Does she drink? Just curious. Would be funny to know the answer to that question, just on a personal level. I'll tell you why later on.

Deb, I hope your hubby wears a C-pap at night. I don't remember you saying he has sleep apnea. That's nothing to mess around with. Another thing I found out the hard way.

Glad you're feeling better, Laura. Hope your last shift goes well.

Interesting... about MIL... funny how different we all can be... I'm the opposite... hard for me to think of gifts, too practical to by frivolous, afraid to waste money.

Hope your last day at work is going smoothly.

Yes Cheryl, we tried C-pap... no go... he now has teeth braces which works pretty well, but not 100% if he lays on back. I can't get him to do anything else.

shift was good and I'm off !

DH plans to drive to service in the am -- I will probably get up super early and drive him. He's working tonight. I thought the service was in Beaumont, but it's in Friendswood. About 2 hours from our house ( but not with the Mon morning traffic ! )

ttyl !

Thanks Debby !

DH came home early and told me to go back to sleep..... I had only slept 3 hours ....

Raining here. It's day 1 of dog training. Hope it stops soon !

Day 3 back on plan. Down almost 5 lbs already. Was so bloated !!!!

No headaches since I stopped the carbs. Feel like such a dummy doing that to myself .

So excited to be off.

I hope the fence training goes great. You sound so happy! I'm happy for you. Glad you can get to one of the services.

That's amazing how quickly your body says, "THANK YOU" for going back to LC. Mine does too. Yesterday I was good. Ate very little and had a large coffee with cream and splenda, then had a very basic salad in the evening. I wasn't hungry. No idea what I'll eat today other than the two coffees I had. Any more than two and I get jittery.

Have a great day. Enjoy the chill!

Have worked with the dogs only twice today

Was going to orientate to OB tomorrow ( for extra cash and to keep my options open ) OB is the only area I haven't really tried over the yrs.
Much slower pace than ER. No patients so I won't be going.

Heather is bringing Shelby to me in a bit. They are finally moving !! This time the buyer is not having problems and after 11 months of DS1 having to stay with us when working, he will have his family all together They are just going to rent a house for now. They will be about 20 minutes from us
He is off for next 5 days I think so we will help or keep kiddos or whatever they need. So happy they will be together

DH is home and asleep . I'm not feeling like cooking the pork chops on the grill. hmmmmmm... wondering what else I might have. I bet DH doesn't eat at all.

ttyl !

That's really great news about your DS1 & family. AND that Shelby & baby will be so close to you. That's how long it takes for us to get to our DS1 & family's place too.

That OB job sounds like it would be better for you when you want to slow down & have less stress.

I like to BBQ my pork chops... easy-peasy!

I never worked in "labor and delivery" (as they used to call it) but what did appeal to me during nursing school about it is that you can be in the delivery room one minute and the OR the next! You kind of got a lot of variation. I just didn't feel it was right for me cause I never had kids and it's just normal for people when making conversation to ask if you have kids and I just didn't want to go through that whole convo over and over, and I couldn't relate to what they were going through. Sort of sad for me.

Too cool about the family moving close to you!

I'm about to pass out. Long, tiring day and it's after 1 am. Just trying to catch up everywhere. !! Sleep tight, y'all.

Well morning ! Sunny and beautiful 46 degrees

Shelby is still asleep..... she told me before 10pm that she was ready to go to bed. This little girl can stay up LATE , but she was worn out ! Glad she's here and can play and rest.

I told DH last night that DS1 would need help today and he woke up early since he slept yesterday and then last night. He's already at their house ( 8am ) and they are still asleep ! They were still unloading boxes at 10pm at the rental and had to drive an hour home. I know they are exhausted !!
DH is just sitting outside relaxing waiting for them to wake up lol

No headache again ! I did end up grilling pork chops and making "loaded" broccoli last night :0 Super yummy !

Happy for you. What do you load your broccoli with? That sounds great. Do you top it like you would a baked potato? I wish I had some fresh broccoli now cause you put the notion in my head. I DO have frozen broccoli but I don't remember when I bought it. Might be frost bitten.

Enjoy your days off, Laura. How's fence training going?

Maybe I'll see if that frozen broccoli is still viable. Shelby, don't shock the puppies! They won't leave the porch for at least a week after that. I know! I didn't think Cissy would ever trust the yard after that. I wish the tone on those collars was louder so humans could hear them better.

Thanks! I am definitely enjoying my day off during this wretched weather. I'm hoping the boss had to do the pm shift tonight. It needs to happen so she can see how unworkable the changes she has made in the past few months really are. It is raining cats and dogs! Possible t-storms, too. If that happens, I'll be medicating my poor Cissy.

We only have it on tone only right now. Will move to a light shock tomorrow I guess. Allie gets close to flags and stops and looks at me ~ Doing great !! Cowboy still goes up to flags
i can't hear the tone most of the time either.

Yes, try the brocolli - tastes exactly like a baked potato !

61 here now. Sorry you have rain, but at least you are OFF ! yippee !!

I didn't know you could turn the shock off during training. That's perfect! No bad experiences. I wish I had known if the one here could be set to tone only. There's another dog upstairs so I would have had to switch it back to shock after I took her out for a lesson, but I would have done that gladly.

I made my shopping list and fresh broccoli is on it. I think I want to try that roasted cauliflower stuff, too. Have you ever made those? Or Kale chips? I've yet to even make those cream cheese muffins or anything fun like that. I bought a really nice silicone muffin pan and it has yet to be used. I need to get moving!

Yes, it said in the directions to let them get used to the flags and pull them away and yell "no no" and then praise them for coming back to the safe zone. All while on a leash. Then you work up to a small shock - still on a leash. Then let them off leash and higher shock if needed. Allie is a big chicken so the 1st little shock will scare her to death. Cowboy has lots of hair so I'm sure he will need a little more to even feel it.!!

I love the loaded broccoli
Roasted cauliflower is good, but not my favorite thing
I like kale chips. I put small pieces on a plate with paper towels and microwave them 30 secs and check and then again until crunchy. I sprinkle them with sea salt before and after. yum......
I like cream cheese muffins ok, but I prefer the big LC cheesecake recipe I have that is to die for........ I need to make another one !!

All this talk about veggies made me start craving brussel sprouts. I cooked up a bag of frozen ones and just pigged out. I put mayo on them and salt. I should have waited for them to cool off cause I now have a couple blisters brewing on either side of my upper gums. Oh well. They hit the spot!

Had Shelby till about 2 pm and then DH and I took her to "her house". We stayed and helped - there were some of their friends there too...... I hadn't had anything but a protein shake ~~ everyone was starving !!
Long story short ~~ you know already don't you ??

I ate about 1 cup of fried rice, an egg roll, and 2 rolls. Ugh....

Stopped eating as soon as I wasn't starving. But.... I did it.

Told DH right back on wagon tomorrow. No excuses. NONE .
