Glad you have some time to rest and enjoy Shelby. Lazy is sometimes just what the Dr ordered. I'm off for four days now too, and boy do I need them. Weather is finally nice! I'm broke until tomorrow. Once paid, me and Cissy are going to go get some gas in the car and have some FUN.

That's right! Get that fence in along with all that bbq'ing and communing. I'm glad you're all together during the nice weather you are having before summer sets in for the next 8 months.

Enjoy the "full house" and then enjoy the peace and quiet when they leave. WTG on getting the fence in! Very exciting.

Everyone except DS1 is gone..... What a week !

DH and I are exhausted. Forgot what it was like having people in and out for 7 days straight.
Shelby had a blast and Wyatt was soooo good

We just went and ran errands in town and bought groceries. I need to get cooking. Roast already in crock pot.

Changed my "details" for WOE to moderation. I have been doing this for a few weeks and am happier. Really haven't been able to stick with LC last few months so just gonna eat all things in "moderation " Feeling good so far !

We haven't been working with dogs too much with fence ~ Snickers has been here almost every day this week and of course she doesn't have a collar. DS2 and Kristina were here almost every day too with all the family here ! It's been a bit of a madhouse !!

Hope you all are doing well. Back to work tomorrow

It sounds like a bit of a madhouse. Better you than me, girl. Seven days of entertaining is a very long and exhausting time, even when your house is full to overflowing with people you love. I'm glad you can get back to normal pretty soon.

I like your switch to moderation, too. If I could learn to do that, dieting could be a thing of the past. It's portion control that's my downfall. When I'm doing LC, there's nothing worth binging on. That's why it works for me, better than other things like calorie counting. But if I could just break through that mindset of not wanting to count calories, I could just relax and accept life as it comes.

Have a good rest! I wouldn't have been working on training dogs for the fence during a week like that, either! Good grief! That's going to be a whole other matter. When you start training them, I hope it goes unbelievably well.

Go kick back on that great new mattress of yours! Close the door, light a candle that smells great and put on some mood music. Sweet dreams.

Wow! Sounds like a very busy, happy family get together! It is nice to have everyone at the same time - like Christmas! But hectic! It's also a welcomed calm feeling when everyone leaves and you can reflect on the joy of family in the quiet of your home!

I wish I was ready for "moderation" WOE. Maybe once I get down to where I want to be. Slow going, but it's going!

Home ..... almost 3am ...BUT I get to sleep in !! Yay ! Shelby's party isn't until 2 pm

DH had 2 deaths in his family this week. A cousin's wife (only 50 ) and a great aunt. Don't know if we will go to funerals. One is several hours away and the other will be way up in North Texas.
We'll see when they make all the arrangements.

Headed to bed. Sleep well

Okay, getting tired of the headaches every morning. My brain actually feels like it's on fire .....

Re-thinking the "moderation" idea. Who am I kidding ? I've gained and having headaches and being gassy and bloated is fun ? Yes i love eating without worrying constantly about weight or carbs but I am seriously worried about the effects it could cause down the road.
Had a pt last night in ER with dementia/alz - we have them frequently but this lady just reminded me so much of my Dad and I knew what that poor family was fixing to go through as it progresses. So sad.

I am a grown woman for crying out loud. I need to do what is best for ME. I need to see the foods that HURT me as poison. I'll be fine.

So blessed to be off today for Shelby's party and time with family. I'm excited !

Sorry for rambling ........

I'm so sorry about the two deaths in DH's family. I hope they didn't suffer. Was the Aunt sick or was it accidental? I hope you will be able to attend the one that you need to the most.

Carbs give you headaches that bad? I'd give them up too, if they affected me like that. That's a lie cause they make my joints and maybe even my muscles ache. I'm in such denial. I hope you feel much better soon.

Shelby! Enjoy the party, Nana!

Thanks Cheryl. DH is going to find out the arrangements and we will see. Since you know Texas, one's in Beaumont and one's in Canadian.

The cousin's wife had a brain tumor - we just found out a month ago she was on hospice. Had no idea about it.
The great aunt was elderly and it was just a matter of time. DH's close with her daughter (60's) and they came when his father passed away.

yes my headaches (migraines) are SO much worse and more frequent when I eat carbs. I know that. I suffered for so many yrs with them and when I went LC a few years ago I could tell a huge difference. I have had a headache every morning for 8 days. Not fun when working ;/

I had to google where those two places were. East of Houston and in the Panhandle? You obviously can't go to both. Doesn't sound like you were close to either of them so maybe send flowers and a card? Not much else you can do.

It's not a laughing matter but it reminds me of a saying I heard in a movie somewhere. It goes something like this: "Such a curious tradition. They throw a big party in your honor on the one day they know you can't come." I agree. We should start throwing parties for people while they can enjoy them. Let them see all their life's pictures and things set up.

Anyway, I'm glad I don't have to deal with headaches. 8 straight days of waking up with one is no good. Use that as your motivation to get back on track. See how many days it takes to start feeling really good again. Each day, give yourself a 0-10 rating. Would be fun to know that on day 5 or something, you felt cured.

Have to get ready for work now. Going in a little early to see if I can exercise some.

Laura - so sorry for the loss of your DH's relatives. Never easy. I hope you can attend to show your support. Also sorry for your headaches and feeling blah. What we put in our bodies certainly makes a difference in our overall well being. How was Shelby's party? Such a fun age!

Wow. Well in that case, I hope the family can coordinate the memorial services and funerals to space them out as best they can so relatives can make it to each service. I'm really sorry for the great loss of them both in such a short space in time. I understand that sort of mourning. Let's hope there will be no more in the next year or so.

Boy, I don't know how you can function with a migraine. DH gets them (from his sleep apnea), and he can't do anything till the Excedrin takes effect. PTL they work!!
