Hope you can get your groove going this week with food. We can learn from our bumps in the road...

Wow! You walked both dogs at once? You'll have to walk Cowboy by himself sometimes so you can work with him and focus on him entirely. Ever watch those "Dog Whisperer" shows? He's great regarding training dogs that have issues. Cowboy's no puppy and he's used to moving along at his own pace and deciding what directions to go in. This will be a challenge but you can succeed.

Sorry you are still having trouble making it through a full day on LC. All I can say is to make things that you absolutely adore and eat lots of it all day and all night long. One thing I love when eating LC is a good chili. Also jalapeno poppers with cream cheese. So decadent! I have a really yummy tuna casserole that I love to eat, also. Only problem is I eat the whole thing in one day.

I'm off for a few days now. I need to cook up something of that nature.

I figured Allie would have a "breakdown" if I took Cowboy and not her She's the "queen" around here
It was really funny and I haven't been walking ( uh huh ) lately so it was nice to get outside. I was pleasantly surprised after a few minutes he did really good... he just doesn't understand not to cross in front/back of me I think he had fun

Yep, need to get in my "groove" again. Told DH to help me - promised I won't bite his head off -
I plan to make poppers tomorrow and possibly chili too... not a fan of tuna casserole at all

Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe you will make some too

Laura - your dog shower story was hilarious and really could have been a winner on "Funniest Home Videos" !

Glad everything is working out for the best! I don't know if I could handle the care of 2 dogs. The vet bills alone ! Our 16 year old "Nopey" recently passed - sad, but a blessing also . I don't think we will be getting another canine friend anytime soon. 2 cats keeping me busy enough.

Susan, it was pretty funny. We were soaked and dog hair was all over us. poor dog had probably only had one bath in his life !
They say he will be 2yrs old in June or July. I can't remember .....

Slept in and it's a gorgeous day here ! They said it would rain, but I guess it cleared out. Sunny and beautiful 47 degrees I'm so glad.

Drinking coffee. Had a good hot shower and mopped the floors. I hate mopping. But, it smells nice in here.

What is everyone up to today ?

Hope your back feels better soon! Maybe washing the dog played a part in your back too. Glad you got to sleep in. Enjoy your day, Laura.

Hope your back feels better very soon. My DH finally got his MRI after another bout of pain. He has an inflammed, buldging disc that is pushing on a nerve that incapacitates him. Next step: Physical therapy and pain management. (And maybe he'll stop doing things that aggravate his back ).

Anyway........I'm happy for you that you weather brings you sun and warmth. In 2 weeks I'll get mine in Key West!

Hi Laura! I hope your back feels better soon. There is nothing worse that back pain -- it just feels like pure torment. I am sending healing vibes your way. Your avatar is just fabulous -- Shelby is beautiful. I can see why she makes you so happy.

LOVE that new avi, Laura. Didn't notice it cause you haven't posted anything new in a while. I wish I was there, in that picture with those drinks on that beach.

Sorry !

Not much going on these days off. Back is still "out" and I'm frustrated with it. Don't want to pay $$ to go to chiro ~ I went twice on last days off and since it's a new yr ~~ get to pay lots of money cause deductible isn't met
Guess I'll go Monday if I have to .
Sitting on heating pad a lot and using my tens unit.

Wanted to get Shelby, but she wouldn't have fun if I can't run and play with her and I just can't right now.

Cowboy's owner is supposed to come visit him today. Glad he loves him too .
He has chewed up a nice pair of DH's shoes and my work tennis shoes. DH bought him a bunch of HUGE bones to keep him busy Hope it works !

Cold last few days but better today. I need to go walk and see if that helps my back ~ sometimes it does

Sorry to be a downer. I'm ok, just not doing anything fun !

I'm sorry about your back (and your shoes!) Does you DH know how to press in the right places to be your "chiro-in-a-pinch"? My DH used to crack my back and I'd crack his. Maybe yours is more complicated than that. I hope you feel better.

I've heard of something where you place a "log" or something like it on the floor and you lay your back down on it and the weight of your body does the correcting of your spine as you use your legs to move your body over the bar. Google it or youtube it and you'll see what I mean.

Glad the EX owner is coming to see Cowboy. Does he still call him Buddy? I hope the bones DH bought for him curb his appetite for your footwear and other things. If you are finding the board is quiet, just go to the main LC lobby and see what new threads are going on. That's what I do. Or you can come to the horse lover's thread. That's where I'm posting when I'm only posting in one place. I posted a lot there lately because of a staff meeting we had yesterday. I wrote all about it there.

Whatever you do, don't post anything on FB in regard to any of my farm troubles. I am friends with some of the farm people on FB and don't want to be "watched," iykwim.

yeah, i've heard of using a "noodle" for your back, but i've never done it. May google that.... we have some for the boat.

I wouldn't mention the farm at all on FB. Too many eyes .......

off to read about your meeting !

Sounds like Cowboy is a nervous chewer....not good! That's probably why he was outside so much. And the previous owner is coming for a visit.....I don't know if I could do what you are doing and be kind to the previous owner!

How's your back?

Bummer about your back. Do you ice it too? Ice helps mine more. Walking also is excellent, even if its slow.

Ugh! lost 2 pair of shoes! Guess its a learning curve for you... might need to keep things like that up for a while. Hope the 'visit' goes well.

Have a blessed day!

morning !

Yes, shoes are kept on a shoe rack and we moved them all to top shelf, but he's so tall, he just pulled them off anyway. Now, the rack is on opposite side of garage where he can't get to them .

DH and DS spoke with the family many times and say they are really nice and feel bad for the dog. They just don't have a fenced yard and no time for him. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. He didn't come yesterday.

I walked some at park yesterday. Used heating pad. Used my tens unit. Still really sore and muscles are cramping up. Will walk again today and go see chiro tomorrow. Should have went Friday, being hard headed I guess.

Nice here today. Cloudy but 58 so good to walk ......

Hope you all have a great Sunday !

Feel better, sweetie. Hot bath? With some Epsom Salt? Ease your whole body and your back in the process. Have to get ready for work. Getting a little more snow today. Enjoy your 58 degrees!

Hope the back pain gets better. And I'm completely jealous of your warm temps! It's been so gloomy around here, it's depressing and more bad weather coming mid-week. I'll get a break from it in a couple of weeks though .

Checking in with you, Laura. Hope your back is feeling much better today and your shoes are intact. I am working again today. No snow in the forecast but need to clean the car off of the dusting we got overnight.

Garden, I hear ya. I was driving by a church in my town a few days ago and on their street sign, it read "Whoever's praying for snow, would you please stop?" It's going to be cold all week. You just stay focused on your trip to the Keys and charge up your camera batteries. We want pics when you return.

Glad you're getting all that cooking done. Good way to spend a rainy day. Then you'll be all set for your work week. Sounds like you're doing better, except for your back. Do you have sick time you can use if the Chiro doesn't relieve the pain? I hope so.
