Did the coffee maker come standard with the RV? I would imagine it did, since it came with everything else. Will they replace it for you as part of the warranty? They should! Sorry this trip is a fizzle, but like you said, you're off work so how bad can that be?

I like your new Avi but I miss seeing your face. Have fun today. Maybe go outside and crash one of the neighbor's parties. If you can't beat em, join em!

nope, it's all good. We bought the coffeemaker on 1st trip ( I'm a bear without coffee )
DH just replaced it with a better one.

Just walked Allie all around park. No rain and everyone out with their dogs. Not a bad place I guess it was just really gloomy yesterday with all the rain and noise. We'll make the best of it !

Have plenty of leftover meats and veggies from home and a package of ribeyes to grill ~ we'll be fine !

Off to enjoy the day !! ttyl !

OMG!!!!! No coffee would be a total crisis at my house too! We have made coffee on an outdoor grill, in the fireplace, etc. when the power goes out!
Can not function without it!

Glad the campsite has proved to be enjoyable! Like Cheryl said, "join 'em" and you may make some good friends for the future!

Aw Thanks ! She's beautiful inside and out !

Work is different this week. I will work till about 8pm tonight and then have to be an hour from home in the morning at 8am for a TNCC recert class ( trauma nursing)
Then will work Fri, Sat, and Sun and then have to be back at my hosp at 10am on Monday ( usually my day off ) for a PALS class ( pediatric life support recert )

Hope i can get to sleep tonight when I get home. Think I will take some benadryl early I will be in trouble if I can't and have to get up before 6

I'm being preceptor for an old friend who has come back to work ER after many years of being a SAHM (jealous) ~~ yesterday and today I don't have to take pt's --I just help her with the computer and stuff that has changed since she was there. She's a sweety and I enjoy her a lot

Looks like another pretty day Hope you all have a wonderful one !

Wow, Laura. You just brought back a lot of memories. I used to be ACLS certified and that was always a nightmare. The anticipation of the recert. Never was PALS certified and never heard of the trauma one, but I do remember when learning about trauma in school how that really seemed like something I would excel in. WTG, honey.

Nice that you can have a shift of orienting the lady to the computer and stuff. I hope it goes well. It's great that they took her back after being a SAHM for so long. I guess she's still young. I think the older we get and the longer our gaps in employment get, the less likely it is they will take a chance and hire us crusty old nurses. I think that fear keeps me from looking for another position as a nurse more than anything. Well, that and my obesity. Middle aged, rusty and slim, I'd stand a much better chance.

Sorry I've been MIA. Glad to be catching up on everyone today. I have two days off and it makes me What a week!

Laura - I am so jealous of your warm, sunny weather! I think I need to become and snowbird and move south for the winter. I really get a little blah during January and February. This past Sunday was a very nice day weather wise, but now it's back to winter for us. Cold, cloudy and rain every other day - Yucky!

morning !

Cheryl, yep you would be fine.... lol ! They let rusty, old me stay around ! She is a year younger than me
I kinda stress over the classes too, but TNCC is by far my favorite ! I will be tired by Monday when I take PALS so not looking forward to it ;/

Susan, come on down and spend winter with me ! You too Cheryl,Lisa, and Debby ! We could have lots of fun ! lol !

Didn't sleep really good, but up and drinking coffee ~~ didn't study much, so hope it doesn't bite me in the bu** !! Should be fine......

Will be nice to get "off" early and have the evening to relax... then finish last 3 shifts and then PALS class...... ok, it doesn't sound so nice when I spell it all out , does it ?

Oh well.... have a great day !

We can stay in your 5th wheel! Let's go, girls! I'll go pack a bag right now. Oops! I forgot. I have a job. Nope! Can't make it just yet. But thanks for the invitation.

Good luck on your recert. Come tell us all about it later on.

Oh Laura! Sorry you had that kind of reaction to the re-cert testing. It's over right? How often do you need to re-certify? Sounds like you need a drink!

And Cheryl and I am on our way......you need a !

That's right. You WILL get through this. If there is a way to spread out those recert classes over a larger span of time in the future, it might be better to do one or two of them a little earlier. Sound like a plan?

Breathe in, breathe out.

Well ladies, I have taken these classes for 12 years and never had that happen . I really felt so out of control .... really depressing. I usually am not anything like that and these classes are nothing to me.
The way they needed them done, I will still take PALS Monday. Not another one scheduled any time soon, so I can't expire.

Been really down and depressed this last week. Beginning to worry about myself. I've been praying that God will open a door for me ~ work has become so stressful and depressing. Lots of stuff going on that I won't bore you all with, but it's not a fun place to be and the "cliches" and attitudes are getting hard to ignore.

Weight is all over the place. Have been stuffing myself to "numb" myself I guess ;/ Lots of headaches and aches and pains, feeling down, etc....... gotta pull myself out of it and start enjoying life again. I HAVE to !!

I would appreciate your prayers as I pray for guidance for DH and I... we would love to work somewhere we enjoy and feel appreciated. No raise here for 5 yrs !

Oh yeah, I had my evaluation this week and we have to put a goal.

Guess what I put ????

" to have a fulfilling job with a competitive salary " lol ! Sure that will go over real well
! I don't even care.....

Drinking my coffee with CO and boiling eggs for work..... Will check in later or tomorrow. Sorry I have been "hiding" I just didn't have anything positive to say and didn't want to bring any of you down. Sorry for the rant......

Forgot to add.. had a really sweet older lady with Alz/Dementia yesterday. Family was really thankful that they had a nurse "that understood" after I explained my father went through the same thing. They were stressed and having to come to grips with what lays ahead.....

I was glad I could help and made them feel comfortable, but it added to my feelings of depression remembering Dad's last few years and how awful they were.
Just really gloomy now, don't want to bring DH down too.. he hates when I get like this ~~

So sorry you're feeling so bad. I know the wrong foods will add to the feeling of depression, but understand. Hope a ray of light shines on you today.

Sorry you are feeling down and out Laura. Maybe your "goal" will plant a seed and work to your advantage. Can you transfer out of ER - to a regular floor or would that effect your pay? Any nursing homes around that are hiring RN's?

I don't think leaving the ER environment is the answer for her, garden. It's impossible to downshift into just working a regular floor when you're used to a specialty area. It's a whole different ballgame when you are tethered to a bunch of patients and their families by a call button. And that's only half the story, cause you're also tethered to the nurses station and phone for Dr's and radiology departments, etc.

Laura, I'm sorry to say that I can understand how you're feeling right now. If you really feel it's time to leave and find a better job, as long as you both make that move, I'm sure you can find a place that suits you better. If you've ever considered travel nursing, you already have your home away from home so instead of the apartment they would have put you up in (with all the furnishings), you'd get a stipend (not sure if that's the right word) instead. That added on top of your pay can be a nice chunk of change.

This is YOUR journal and we are your FRIENDS. Vent away. Tell us as much as you care to share. You won't bring us down but it might help you to write it down and get it out. I will pray for the both of you right now. (Done)

I can't counsel you on the numbing-with-food thing. I have nothing of value to say at this juncture. Just try not to let it get out of hand. Weigh everyday so you are AWARE of where you are going. Not weighing is a very dangerous thing when you are derailed.

Thanks, you guys are really great.

Better day today, not great ( I had several really sick pts ) but my outlook was somewhat better and I stayed completely LC ! Tons of water

Super foggy driving home. Scary stuff ~

I really appreciate all the prayers and encouragement. I'm still praying about what I should do work wise. I have worked Med / Surg , NICU, psych, ER etc.... so I could transition into something if that's what I feel like God is leading me to do. We'll see.

Luv you guys !
