Oh thank you girls! I needed to see this! I've been doing alright. Still working out real hard, but my eating has been only at about a 60% effort.... I know what I want and need to do as far as my diet goes, but I just keep messing up after 1 or 2 good days. It doesn't help that we've had alot of teacher appreciation stuff going on a school and that means I've been tempted with goodies, breakfast bars and free lunches. Usually I can resist these things, but only when I'm totally on my game and have been for a while. Ah well...

I CAN DO THIS!!!!

Finally adding April weights!

Here are my daily weights since September 10, 2012. I started out originally doing just low carb.... Also this starts with my old broken scale that weighs too heavy...

Wow, that's not good. Granted there are some good days mixed in there, they were not all bad diet wise. Either way I should be very happy that my weight isn't much higher. I'm sure there is also water weight that my getting back into ketosis would knock out as well. So I am recommiting to updating this here everyday!

Yeah mothers day hurt a bit, oh well. Today is a planned DD, so hopefully the scale will be nicer tomorrow... I'm pretty sore and stiff today. Did slot of yard work yesterday, part of which was carrying thirty 40 lb bags of dirt up a steep hill to my upper garden area. I also got some rhubarb planted and a strawberry bed put in. We are also building a chicken coop and run for our first ever chickens! I'm so excited, I ordered 6 chicks back in February and they'll be here middle of next week. We have a lot more work to do, but I got some painting on it done last night.
I went ahead and cancelled tonight's step class, cuz I have a lot more stuff that needs to be done and my 4 year old still has a cold and I don't want to bring him in like that. Thinking I'll take a trip to tractor supply to get some chick feed and other stuff. Plus I need to do some more painting and I need to do some of the last steps to finish this homemade yogurt. Hoping it turns out!

Hi Melanie, Your progress since September is amazing. Seems like all these LC variations have worked for you in some form. Congrats!

I don't think Mother's Day eating counts! LOL!! Keep up the good work!!

P.S. We just ordered chickens for the first time too!! We're getting 12 layers and have started building a coop as well. I'm pretty excited about it!

Thank you and yes it does help to look back to last fall, I have made alot of progress since then, even if I've been struggling these last few months.

Yay, for the chickens! I've always wanted some. I ordered 6 chicks, that will hopefully be pullets, supposedly they have a 90% sexing accuracy... All different breeds, since I wanted some variety. This chicken coop is alot of work, but it's fun and a good family project! When are you getting your chickens and what breeds?

Yesterday's planned DD turned into a normal day, but with some carbs thrown in in the form of fruit and a little potato... Oh well, I'm trying again today and so far so good! The scale was a bit nicer today. My son has a soccer game here in a bit so no workout today, but I will be back at the gym tomorrow!

Kind of excited, I made homemade greek yogurt for the first time and it turned out really good! Not nearly as tart as the store bought stuff and it was easy! If I want to sweeten it up more, I can use whatever sweetener I want. Plan on doing this for the kids and adding fruit and stuff, something other than the sugary, dye filled stuff!

I have to say one thing that's different for me this time around losing weight and getting healthy. This IS going to be a lifestyle change for me and my family. I've been doing alot of reading on blogs and such and it's scary the junk that we eat and call food! How can we expect our bodies to be healthier than the food we put in it?! Over the last few months I have revamped my kids snacks, I buy almost ZERO junky food anymore. I never got much sugary snacks to begin with and I've always been on a fairly strict grocery budget. But they now eat fresh fruit, cheese, nuts, etc for snacks. The 7 year old has been the hardest, he's not so sure about nuts and such, but my 4 year old goes crazy for some peanuts and almonds! (which he calls diamonds ) I've got a long ways to go, but this isn't a change I feel can be made overnight, especially with kids! Baby steps it is!

Good for you to keep up the momentum, don't let an off day ruin your whole week! Glad the scale is nicer today, that always helps :-)

I totally hear you on the "junk" and I have said many times that I am going to do better about feeding my kids healthier stuff. Of course for THEM. but also in a sense for ME. My weekend cheats are usually in the form of finishing up one of my kids snacks or plates. They are so little so it's hard for me to think I need to limit their carb intake, I just need to be better about giving them the RIGHT carbs. It's not easy but I have a chance to improve this now before they get too accustomed to the same not-so-healthy items.......I'll definitely be seeking pointers on how it goes with your family. Fruit and cheese no problem so far, I just need to do better about having it "ready" like pre-chopping and slicing so it's an easy to grab item with little or no prep. Nuts, well....we're working on that!! Baby steps is right!

I totally hear you on the "junk" and I have said many times that I am going to do better about feeding my kids healthier stuff. Of course for THEM. but also in a sense for ME. Yeah, my kids still eat carbs and junkier stuff on occasion. I'm just trying to improve the quality of the carbs and have it mostly at meals. They currently don't hardly eat any veggies unless it's a salad and I'm hoping with time that will improve... my kids, especially the 7 year old get cavities real bad, so I've cut the carbs and sugar out of his snacks to help with that since I know he won't be brushing for a while afterward.



Well my DD didn't work out yesterday, not quite sure what it was.... The scale on the other hand thought it was successful.

We started a weight loss challenge here at work today. It's two dollars a week for four weeks and the person who loses the biggest percentage at the end wins the pot. Money is always motivating!!!

The scale wasn't so nice, but I had a good low carb day yesterday! It was kind of salty though.... also had a great workout! Maybe the scale will be nicer tomorrow! I have a nice bootcamp workout scheduled for today!!

No workout planned today... Have a staff meeting after work and also my son's last soccer practice of the season afterwards. Thinking of making today a dd, but have to see if we end up going out to eat or not. Hopefully I'm starting to get back into ketosis and the weight will start to drop a bit more too...
