Yes, I'm still alive! I had some bad days again, started by a baby shower and my hubby's birthday. I've got to quit falling off this wagon, gggrrr! I'm back to JUDDD rotations as of Monday, but I did have some cookies last night, which was a no no for the low carb aspect of my diet. Today has been a great down day though... I need to get myself back into ketosis. Then if I can just hold on and not keep popping myself into the 190's everytime I get a new low!

Through it all I have been sticking to my workouts, last week was only two though since my son was sick and I couldn't bring him to the center's childcare... I'm two workouts into this week and today added a mile on the treadmill. I jogged the whole thing! Last time I tried about a month ago I only jogged 2 quarter mile portions of the mile and it was killing me at the end of each, so I've made progress!

Been looking online at shorts and cute summer clothes I want to be able to wear, so I need to buckle down and get the fat off these muscles I'm developing!

Added February weights!

Here are my daily weights since September 10, 2012. I started out originally doing just low carb.... Also this starts with my old broken scale that weighs too heavy...

September 2012

9/10 --->219.8

9/15 --->219, I did have a couple carby things yesterday... back on track today!

2/3 ~ 189.8 ~ DD ~ I'd saved about 1000 calories yesterday for going out to eat, ended up being chinese, ate alot, so who knows what my numbers were.. Today is a Coffee w/ HWC DD!
2/4 ~ 188.0 ~ UD ~ Total Body Workout
2/5 ~ 190.0 ~ DD ~ Hoping I wouldn't bounce that high...

I've been pretty frustrated, since the last time I fell off the wagon and shot back up 5+ lbs. After being good for 6 days or so I should be at least halfway back to 187, but I was going up instead! Thankfully today I had a drop after an UD, so hopefully more after today's DD! Then I can be back on my way! I really want to get into the low/mid 180's this month!!! Been looking at all the cute summer clothes that I don't fit in yet, and it makes me feel that I wasted so much time falling off the wagon what 2 or 3 times!

Okay I've decided to give Fast 5 a try! I'm thinking till April 1st and then we'll see how I'm liking it!!! Love how there's a 19 hr fast everyday during the easy fast time for me!! Also I'll never have to figure out breakfast or lunch!

You and I must be riding the same wave length..I've been pondering Fast Five myself...esp because of the 19hr fast in between..I truly believe that my body enjoys those breaks! Still sitting on top of the fence at the moment, but I'm thinking!

Hi Melanie, decided to pay you a visit. Yep, that's the best part about Fast5, you only worry about that 1 meal, plus if you have to, you can always move your eating window to suit your social life. I found it took approx 2 weeks to adjust but after that things got easy. I'm sure it's going to work well for you.

So far so good and I'm liking Fast 5!!! I like having my eating window late (4-9), but there's also enough Time for me to have something before my workouts. I've been making protein shakes and occasionally throw some of my instant coffee in there... I can use all the energy I can get for some of those workouts! My weight has been dropping a little each day and I'm very close to getting back into the 180's. So ready to break some new ground!

Dipped back into the 180's today at 189.2! Hopefully no more sabatoging myself and I'll never see those darn 190's again! I like not having the JUDDD bounce anymore, because honestly it drove me nuts. If it bounced to high, than I felt hopeless to get it back down after an DD. Plus I felt that I could only get a new low every other day, where now any day can be the day! Plus I'm still fasting most of the time.

Doing good with my low carb and am back in ketosis!

Feeling like I have a chance at being in the low 180's sometime in the near future!

Melanie....Yoooo hooooo..... Glad you're enjoying the Fast-5! I've thought about doing it the low-carb route, because I lost my first 25 pounds on Atkins quite effortlessly....But I think I'm going to finish out the month eating whatever I want. My clothes feel looser, but I bet I'd have much better success if I watch the carbs. Maybe shoot for under 100 carbs a day... Do you stick to a number or just basically eat lower carb foods?

Keep doing the fabulous work--it shows a lot of heart to keep getting back on that wagon--I've fallen off quite a few times the past couple years, and I'm tired of the bruises!

Under 100 carbs sounds great, most days I'm sure my net carbs are 50 and under. I do go kinda crazy sometimes with nuts and peanut butter. I also use low carb tortillas sometimes too. So no, no certain number.. I hate having to take time to count stuff, but I do have to watch myself when it comes to the nuts and peanut butter.

I remember a time when I used to love logging my food every day.....Now I just wish I didn't have to, but I know it's one thing that helps keep me accountable. I looooove peanut butter too! I haven't been logging the past week so I'm pretty sure I'm going overboard and not realizing it.....One of these days things will click and I'll never have to worry about numbers again!

You're doing such a great job! Keep it up!

I do too! Nothing has ever worked for me like low carb!

Speaking of peanut butter.... its kinda scary how much of the jar is gone after just a week ...

This was from Wednesday, but I had meant to post is here as well...

Did not weigh this am and have decided not to until Monday. I feel like I've hit a major set point with these high 180's to low 190's. Not only physically, but mentally too. Like it's going to take 110% effort and I'm just tripping up over it. I couldn't keep my fingers out of the banana chips, dried fruit, kiwis and pineapple yesterday, plus been eating too many nuts and peanut butter. I need some good clean eating! Usually not seeing that # on the scale everyday is NOT good for me, but I'm going to give it a try... I'm going to report each day though, just to stay accountable! Really need to also focus on eating 1 meal and a snack instead of 2 meals with snacking in between. I just want to drop another Jean size again already... been flirting with these numbers for a few months now..

Posted yesterday...

I had a good day yesterday! Broke my fast at 4pm with coffee w/ HWC and good handful of raw almonds. I think I also had a slice of cheese too, haha can't remember... After my workout at about 7pm I ate dinner which was a lettuce wrapped burger w/ cheese and mayo. I also had a small salad with broccoli, cucumber, shredded cheese and ranch. Topped it all off with one more slice of cheese and that was it. YES, I LOVE CHEESE... so my window was 4-8 yesterday. I usually do close it in less than 5 hours.


So far so good today, have to admit it was weird not getting on the scale again this morning!

Good day again yesterday. Opened window at 4:00 with my coffee, handful of raw almonds, slice of cheese and since I was super tempted to eat more I had some more coffee.... Then off for a bootcamp workout at 5:30. Ate dinner a little after 7:00. I scrambled 3 eggs and ate them with shredded cheese and mayo in a lc tortilla. Also had some jalapeno cheddar suasages, those little smokie looking ones with another thicker slice of cheese. Loving this 1 lb block of Monterrey jack cheese, I'll be sad when it's gone. That closed my window at about 7:35. So window was 4:00-7:35.

My thighs are so sore from two days in a row of classes with a lot of "thighwork"! Today is a Powerhouse class and I hope I can make it through all the jump squats and lunges that I'm sure they have planned...

I've had a super busy weekend and am just now finding the time to check in...

Friday was for the most part a good day, only negative was we went out to eat at a seafood buffet, granted we only do that once a year, so yes I did eat way too much. I opened my eating window at 4:00 with coffee and some almonds I believe. Got to the restaurant at 5:00 and ate, I picked low carb items and had a salad, but I'm sure there were some sneaky carbs in there and alot of salt! Technically my window would have been closed by say 6:15, except for a cup of coffee w/ creamer that I had at a friends house at about 10:15.
I had to cancel my 5:30 powerhouse workout that was scheduled, becuase of going out to eat...

Saturday was a good day. I made a trip to Lowes and lugged around all sorts of lumber and 80 lb bags of concrete mix, so I got a little exercise.. Wasn't able to open my eating window till about 6:00... I had chicken/veggie soup, coffee, almonds, cheese and yes some natural peanut butter, but I didn't feel as if I went overboard. Window was probably closed at about 10:00.

I'll go ahead and report for today. Opened window at 4:00. Had more chicken/veggie soup, almonds, cheese, tad of peanut butter and a low carb tortilla with melted cheese in it. Just closed my window now at 7:20.


Tomorrow is my big weigh in and measurement day. I'll admit that I just peeked at the scale after getting out of the shower and am not happy with the number I saw... We'll see what it says in the morning, I guess. I'm also going to use a Ketosis test strip thing in the morning to see what it says. If it says I'm not in ketosis and I have a bad weigh in that could be insightful. If it's positive and I have a bad weigh in, who knows... I mean it could be too much salt from the seafood and the soup, but the seafood will have been 4 days ago! I only peeked at the scale cuz I thought I was going to get a good number, been feeling skinny today...

Just frustrated because I've been stalled pretty much since I started working out in January, but I've been dieting too so how can that completely stall me? Look at Lori (from fast 5 thread), she doing about the same workouts as me and she's lost 24 lbs since then?!

At this moment reaching goal just feels hopeless!

I just read your whole blog. It's so hard when we have those bumps in the road. I really think you can do this! I bet you're gaining muscle, and doesn't that weigh more than fat? I think you've done a great job, I really do!

Well I've weighed in and done my measurements.... Not too exciting to say the least...

Weigh in was 189.4. My measurements showed only a total of .75 inches lost in a little more than a month. I also checked for ketosis and got a faint positive.

I feel like this is telling me that I gained enough muscle to replace the little bit of fat I may have lost in the past month. I do feel like I've gained some muscle, but obviously I need to speed up the fat loss.

Things I'm going to try to do a little differently are... Cut out alot of the cheese I eat, limit myself just to shredded on eggs, salad, veggies. Avoid peanut butter altogether. Only allow myself one sm. handful of almonds a day. Eat mostly meat, eggs and veggies. Increase water intake, I've been a bit lax with that lately. Continue exercising as usual. Also as soon as I can get my hands on some virgin coconut oil, I will switch that out for the splenda in my coffee as well.

Planning on weighing in again at least by Sunday. Not sure if I want to stay with once a week weigh ins or go to twice weekly or back to daily??

Thank you. I am trying! Would love to just suddenly drop 10 lbs overnight! But don't we all... I'm really enjoying the workouts at this point. First couple of months I kinda had to drag myselg in there to do them, not I LOVE it! Granted there are moments when working out that I don't, but in general I'm hooked... After 3 months, I can really feel my strength, endurance and energy increasing!

Yesterday went well! Opened my window at 4:00. I tried the coffee with coconut oil and it was yucky, too bitter for me! Coconut oil was yummy, but I like super creamy coffee that's got some sort of sweetener in it! So, I had the coffee, small handful almonds, and some zucchini that I had sauteed with bacon and onions. After my workout, I had a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger and a small protein shake. Window probably closed at 7:40.
I can tell I'm more hungry today, was hungry at 7:30 this morning, it went away and now I'm super hungry! Got some errands to run though after work so will probably have to open my window a little late...

Oh yeah, scale was nicer this morning and said 188.0!
