Happy Monday! Wow! 50 miles in a week is totally awesome! How are your legs holding up with all the walking you are doing? You should be so proud of yourself for accomplishing your goals. I seem to get more snacky around the time TOM appears so I understand being snacky from time to time. I have decided NOT to drive myself batty about it but let it be what it can become and drive on after the snackiness leaves. Working on choosing foods that I won't regret when I get this way but not always successful. I just pick myself up and keep going and I am sure you will too. Keep up all the good work you are doing. Kinda weepy myself today so don't know if TOM is lurking. Have a nice day.

FOOD INTAKE
Mon - Fri - Okra soup
- Tuesday & Friday I had a 1 piece KFC with soup
- Thursday I goofed and had a Wendy's Big Breakfast Sandwich for breakfast (duh, like when did I start eating breakfast)
- Monday ate 3 miniature twix's; Wednesday at 2 miniature Dark Chocolates

In the evenings Mon - Wed I had watermelon.
Snacks consisted of nuts (I usually mix pistachios, almonds, walnuts, pecans & cashews) and try to limit it to 1/2 cup.

I'm still sticking with the walking, got 7 miles in today. I fell short 2 miles of my 50 mile goal, but will give it a shot again next week. I'm now in Sugar Grove, VA,

I've been going over my food intake for the last 2 weeks and decided I needed to clean my act. Usually, I give myself a break on Sunday's and go for ice cream, well, vacation is coming up in 2 months so unless it's LC ice cream, I'm giving it up. Also, no more soup with dumplings. I broke down on Thursday and had a Wendy's Big Breakfast Sandwich, don't know why I caved in, I really didn't want it, but anyway, unless it's a salad or bunless hamburger all of that is out. Periodically, I would crave chocolate, well I use to make the chocolate MM's to kill that craving, but the MM's weren't too good to me, so I decided I'll stick with the miniature Hershey's dark chocolate. Five bars have about 25 carbs, but I can't eat any more than 2 bars. When I can't get the Hershey's I decided on the Baker's Semi-Sweet baking chocolate squares. One square is about 16 carbs but you can only eat about 1/2 a square.

For the salty snacks I decided to stick with nuts. I usually mix pistachios with walnuts, pecans, cashews & almonds and I try to stick with 1/2 cup or maybe fried cheese.

My fruits will be peaches or watermelon and maybe plums (extremely low in carbs).

My starchy vegetables will continue to be sweet potatoes, pumpkin and plantain. However, with summer coming I'll probably eat a lot more salads.

Now that I have all of this is writing, I feel much better; let's see if I can stick with it.

Ummm, I must have gotten plenty of rest yesterday, I got up this morning and put in an easy 6 miles, well there was some huffing & puffing along with some sweat, but that's to be expected.

I decided I'm going to give up on the 50 mile challenge and just do what I can do. For now I think I'm comfortable with 6 miles a day, if I can do more I definitely will. I'm not sure where I am right now, I went to the site to post my miles but the site was down Let's just hope I'm not lost.

Lunch today will be fish, coleslaw and pumpkin. I also bought some 'icky' cottage cheese w/peaches (I'm sure it taste awful) and I put together a batch of nuts, chopped a semi-sweet Bakers Square and added it to the nuts, just in case I get the munchies. The nuts should last me for about 4 - 5 days.

I'll definitely post later if I eat more or less.

Over the weekend I found this cottage cheese w/fruit pack, and decided to give it a shot for lunch. I guess it taste okay, I'm just not a fan of cottage cheese. Each pack has approx 13 carbs, I'm thinking I should just buy the plain cottage cheese the next time and add my on fruit. the carb count will probably be the same but I think it would taste better.

FOOD INTAKE YESTERDAY
L - fried fish, coleslaw, pumpkin, cottage cheese w/peaches
Snack - 2-mozzarella sticks; watermelon;nuts

Walked 6 miles this morning; wanted to do more but decided not to. I've decided for this week I'll stick with 5 - 6 miles, give my legs & feet a break and perhaps do a little more next week. I'll see how it goes.

I'm having problems with my knees so no more walking or exercising for the next few days, or at least until Monday. I had problems with my knees before and had difficulty walking for almost 2 years, I just want to make sure I don't do any serious damage, so I'll give it a break for 5 days.

While I'm babying my knees I have to make sure I watch my carbs/calories. No exercise means virtually no calories will be burnt which leads to weight gain

FOOD INTAKE YESTERDAY
L - Taco-less salad (lettuce topped w/bbq ground beef, shredded cheese, TI Dressing & croutons)
Snack - nuts, watermelon, cheese sticks (or should I be saying cheese strings)

Will probably have the same thing again today.

No exercise I was tempted to walk slowly, but decided against it. When I was crossing my legs this morning there was a sharp pain in my left knee, boy did it catch me off guard . Please God let Monday be a good day to start back walking I guess things could be worse so I'll be thankful anyway.

Ummm, I'm not sure why I call it a Taco-less salad, I've never had a taco salad before, it just sort of reminds me of the taco salads I see on TV. This salad is sooooo good, I'm considering having the same for next week. But then again that's me, I'll eat something to death, until I get tired of it, before trying something new. I guess it might not be the best thing to do, but it's me.

Since I haven't been exercising, decided to check the scale out, assuming there would be a gain - I'm happy to report I'm still maintaining 168.8

I'm not getting any severe sharp pains in my knees so I'm sure Monday will be good for getting back on track, although I'm tempted to start on Saturday, I'll wait patiently for Monday.

July is around the corner and I want to make sure I'm at my smallest.

I'm enjoying my walks once again; I'm thankful I was able to get 6 miles in this morning with little pain in my knee, although my hip kept aching some, but I know that's more to do with age than anything else I'm about 3+ miles away from Damascus, VA

I'm not sure why, but I've been very hungry lately, either I'm not eating enough or I'm not including enough fat in my diet. I'm thinking it might be the latter. Normally I'm not hungry in the mornings, but this week I've been snacking more than usual and munching on turkey roll-ups w/cheese.

Food Intake Yesterday
L - stir fried cabbage w/steak, shrimp & chicken; broccoli, sweet potatoes
S - turkey slice w/cheese, nuts, watermelon

Managed to get 6 miles walking done this morning. Looks like I'm pretty close to Kentucky, maybe another 100 miles or so to go. Unless something comes up I should reach Kentucky by the end of this month. Let's hope

Wow ..... I have noticed you only eat one meal a day ?? Don't know if I could do that .
I have been starving last 2 days ! But I "feel" lighter, then get on scale and it's the same...;/

Time for a BIG whoosh !
Have a great day !

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm sick & tired of chicken! I ate a bit too much of it yestersday and now I just don't want to see or think of it for a while... Actually I'm kinda tired of meat altogether. Can't decide on what to have for dinner tomorrow or today

Tomorrow, Mother's Day, I plan on indulging in junk food, hmmmm, not that much junk but I do plan on eating a Snicker's Bar, actually I bought it this morning and put it in the freezer for tomorrow. I wanted chocolate cake but figured the Snickers would have far less carbs than a large slice of chocolate cake

Food Intake Yesterday
L - Fried chicken, lettuce & tomatoes, TI dressing, coke
D - chcken wings, lettuce & tomatoes, ranch dressing, diet coke
S - nuts

I'm still managing 45 push-ups, I've been doing 3 x 15 without too much of a breather. Hopefully soon, I'll be able to get in 50-60

Callanetics still coming on strong.

Decided I'll give myself a break from exercises on weekends and start back fresh on Monday's.

We had a pizza party at the office for a colleague who was promoted. I had been craving pizza for a few months and decided to indulge I know I should be upset but I'm not. I realized I haven't had very much appetite for meat, but yet I've been having a craving for junk. After eating the pizza (and I did eat more than my share) I'm no longer craving junk and I feel comfortable staying on track. It's sort of like I needed those carbs to get back on track. Well after some thinking I decided once a month I'm going to treat myself to a carb fest. Just one day of eating whatever it is I'm craving, be happy eating it (because I won't be cheating) and get back on course. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm going to experiment and see what happens. My next 'carb fest' will be the latter part of June - right in time for vacation

FOOD INTAKE
Friday
Early snack - egg salad
L - pizza (pineapple & pepperoni/sausage); snickers bar

I wasn't planning to walk today but because I indulged in pizza yesterday I decided to rid myself of some of the calories. Did 6 miles and I'm now in Birchleaf, VA...hmmm, definitely not the most scenic route. I think I have another 50+ miles to go before reaching Kentucky

I didn't do any Callanetics yesterday but since I walked today I decided to get some stretches in as well. I'm glad I did, I definitely feel better after eating all that pizza yesterday I also got in some pushups -3 x 15. It's going to be awhile before I get in 50 - I did lots of puffing today.

Unless I'm naughty and eat lots of forbidden foods, I won't be walking over the weekend. I hope to be back at in on Monday.

Also I completed Callanetics everyday with the exception Wednesday. Will do an hour tonight along with push ups and then give it a break for the weekend.
