Biochic's battle
Day .5. I have not weighed in yet and started the day off with cookies but I have made the decision to restart LC. Broccoli and artichoke with cheese for lunch. Tenderloin leftovers for dinner. Weigh in tomorrow.
Started my supplements today. GABA glutamine and 5htp plus vitamin D. More glutamine around 4pm. Feel good. Lets see what tomorrow brings... |

Today I will go buy eggs and other low carb food staples that will help keep me on track. I will take my supplements as directed and I will get my big fat butt outside and go for a walk! Day 1... I feel so ready to do this:annoyed: |
2meals today. Not by choice but no eggs in the house this am.
Brunch- 2 eggs w/ 1 slice cheese and 2 turkey sausage patties Dinner- 2oz tenderloin and 1/4 cup artichoke dip Gym- walked 1.8 miles. Kept HR @ 108 Going out to a cocktail party tonight. Not drinking or eating. Just socializing Mood- fair. Not thrilled w/ DH. mindset...determined! Hunger level... Not hungry! |
DAY 2
Starting the day with two turkey sausage patties. Hitting the gym and then watching the snow fall for the rest of the day.
I have chopped meat ready for burgers. Feeling great other than this cold Stepped on the scale and just eating right for one day has me down 4 lbs. if that doesn't say something about my screwed up body I don't know what does! Here's to day 2,, |

Did a Zumba class at the gym.
Mood today - very good Hunger- very hungry after the gym but fine once I ate my burger! Motivation still high Breakfast- 2sausage patties Lunch burger with mushrooms and leftover artichoke dip (all legal ingredients) Dinner- I'm up in the air about. Almost 5 pm and I'm not hungry. Could be eggs or burger or crab. Headache kicking in. Prepared for 2-3dsys of that while my body adjusts. No gym tomorrow. Visiting mom... |
DAY 3
Still battling this head cold.
Hungry this morning Today's Plan: Breakfast- 2eggs w/ cheese and ham Lunch- Burger w/ cheese and mushrooms Dinner- some kind of chicken No gym today Reading and relaxing this morning Off to see mom for 1 pm |
Nearing the end of day 3. Visit with mom was stressful and that horrible voice inside my head started talking about soothing myself with food. I hate that voice. I white knuckled my way home and had a cup of coffee instead. Feel more in control now but had this been last week I would have gone snout first into a pint or two of ice cream:stars:
Dinner- spaghetti squash with crab and shrimp in a creamy sauce. Mood- anxious/ agitated but calming down. Took GABA when I got home. Helpful or placebo? Not sure Mind set- good but wavered this afternoon after visit with mom Hunger level - not hungry but looking forward to dinner w/ DH later Stress is definitely a trigger for me. Anxiety follows and food is calming. I have to fine another way.... |

I am the same food calms me and I just plain love it, I am trying to find other outlets too. It is hard food is always there calling my name (in my head I know)!! Just thought I would let you know I feel the same!! GOOD LUCK and good for you for taking control and having coffee instead of the ice cream!!:high5: |
Thanks J. I think many of us are emotional eaters/ bingers. It's so difficult to get a handle on because we need food to survive. Alcoholics and drug activated folks can eliminate their vice ( theoretically, of course). I quit smoking in 1994. Cold turkey. Probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life except for maintaining my weight loss. For me losing weight is easy the real challenge is keeping it off. I would never think of having just one cigarette yet I can convince myself that one carb- laden meal is ok:stars:

DAY 4
Started the day with a good breakfast and went to a yoga class- that class was not easy!! I am not a yogi by any means. Only my 3rd time. Good class though:stars: hit the treadmill and even ran a bit. Did 1.84 miles. HR up and down high of 150.
Breakfast- scrambled eggs w/ham and cheese Lunch- leftover spaghetti squash with creamy crab and shrimp Dinner- fish (?) and veggies Appetizers eggplant, artichoke, and crab dips on pepper slices. On the fence about drinking tonight. May just have the champagne at midnight. Ultra light beer if I decide to indulge. I do not want to feel horrible tomorrow. Lots to do to get ready to go back to work. Voice in my head re- drinking. I heard that just taking one shot of straight alcohol, like Vodka, is the way to go if you want to keep the carbs down. It is the burn that won't effect it, like a sugar alcohol does, kinda?? :dunno::stars: |
Well I can't say I have not done that before karen:hyst: in fact just last week!!
I'm concerned that a " buzz" will lead to me letting my guard down in terms of food. :sad: |
that is exactly what I thought when I first read your post about your plans for tonight....
I hope she doesn't let that one beer lead you back to the never ending road of carbage. |
Day 5
DID NOT DRINK LAST NIGHT:jumpjoy: had a sip at midnight.
Woke up feeling crappy though. This cold just will not give me a break. Sore throat now too. Just in time to return to work tomorrow. Today's plan- reclaim my house from Santa!! No gym today. Maybe a walk but it is cold and damp outside so probably not Make sure I have my food ready for the week- so important!! More to follow:) |
Day 5
No breakfast. Got tied up with putting Christmas away Lunch- crock pot lasagna. Very good!! Will be making this again for sure! Dinner- burger with leftover artichoke dip and mushrooms Mood: good considering I am tired and not excited about going back to work Motivation: very strong. Made it thru last night. I can do this!! Hunger- not hungry. Forced myself to eat dinner. Very full now Tomorrow will be the real challenge. Back to work. I plan on going to the gym after work but that 5am wake up just kills me. By 3 pm all I want to do is come home and plop. I will pack my bag and get there tomorrow. With my foal of 4x/week I will need to do two work days and Saturday and Sunday. Weekends are easy but those weekdays are freakin hard:annoyed: |
5am ouch! Do you commute a long way.

No long commute just an early start time. I could probably get up at 6 and sprint to the shower and drink coffee in the car but I enjoy relaxing with my morning coffee:stars:

I get up 5am every morning to exercize for 1 hr, this is the only ME time!! I do not have to be to work until 8 but with 2 boys getting them to school and everything takes time!! I am in bed by 10 pm every night though, LOL!! So I am up with you!!;) Jeannie |

First day back at work. All went well but I forgot to pack my supplements. No big deal but I will try to remember them tomorrow.

Either brats and sauerkraut or creamy spaghetti squash w/ crab and shrimp Did the gym after work walk jog incline 2.4 miles Then met my son for some furniture shopping. Bad idea. Day 7!!
1 week down:jumpjoy: I am so happy to be on the wagon again. Getting past those first few days are tough but I am so much more fed up with my weight the. I am wanting to fees the monster
Mood- good Motivation- excellent Hunger- definitely hungry by dinner. I may need to pack a snack for gym days cause I find I am really hungry when I get home:sad: Changing my stats to reflect my loss for week one:kicking: |

Thanks Karen. I'm feeling very good but I know I'm walking a very fine line. If I slip I fall long and far:stars: I just can't afford to do that. I'll be 52 this year and this constant up and down with 30-40 lbs over the last ten years cannot be good:stars:

Day 8
Really good day today. I made the adjustment of bringing my supplements to work. I was not hungry this afternoon after work like I had been the other day. Maybe because this was. It a gym day or maybe due to supplements. Will test hypothesis on monday:)
Breakfast- none. Very little sleep last night so coffee and cream was all I could handle Lunch- that delicious creamy spaghetti squash with crab/shrimp Dinner- out with my sister. Yummy burger with mushrooms and onions NO BUN! Mood- feel really great!! Motivation- strong! Hunger- minimal. ??ketosis?? |
Day 9
Down 11 lbs. crazy:stars:
Yoga and treadmill today Breakfast 2 sausage patties Lunch creamy spaghettini squash w crab and shrimp Dinner. Not sure yet but probably left over lasagna Snarky people make my blood boil. Just saying. Block tool is very useful :) |
