It's always more fun with a buddy! Figuring it out for the long run...
welcome to our new home, bud!! :jumpjoy:
the past 18mos have been a whirlwind of life, weight loss, and much more...and am so happy to have had you with me on the journey!  |
 I LOVE IT!!!
I feel like we’ve grown so much in the last 18 months. We've both seen our share of ups and downs and with each other's support have come out the better for both. So here's to the future Buddy Girl! :high5: |
:hiya:
you found it! glad you like our name. :D so how's your menu shaping up fir the day? can't remember if i posted my numbers today. cals: 2087 fat: 179g protein: 79g carbs: 34g total |
Looks like I'm heading toward the low end today.
B - Eggs, Cheese, butter & 1/2 & 1/2 S - Brazil nuts L - Cream Cheese Muffins D - Bison, Salad with Caesar dressing S - SF Whip Calories 1650 Fat 150grms 83% Protein 56grms 14% Carbs 13grms 3% |
hmm....looks like a bednight snack is in order, missy!! keep those cals up!! and your protein...that's most important, that you get your minimum protein grams.
i'm not really figuring %'s anymore...just making sure to keep protein at my figured amount, calories at my figured amount (for goal weight) and keep (total) carbs at 50 g or less ... filling in the rest with fat. |
That sounds like a good plan. I meant to ask you. Are you going to keep weighing daily or go to weekly? I'm thinking about semi-weekly. Friday for my official and Monday as a reality check. I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up daily this week or not since I'm just getting in line.
|
i have been thinking about that too. i think i may do daily for another week and see how i am feeling after that.
|
Me too!
|
Okay bumped it up a little
Calories - 1816 Fat - 166 - 83% Protein -66 - 15% Carbs - 13 - 3% |
looks better.
so i had a bump up this morning. i'm hoping it's b/c i had saltier foods. darin says not to worry about salty, but this is the second time i have had saltier foods and the second time i have had a bump up. :dunno: me thinks that the bod doesn't like salty. i have never had issues with leg cramps, so am not going to stress getting enough. in fact it seems i need to watch it. i may bring cals down just a tad today too. hope your scale is kind. :high5: |
Well I hate to be the Me Too girl, but me too. Today I'm grateful for the weight fluctuation section  I'm just going with that.
|
I was thinking about what you said about salty foods. Is it possible just like good fat, bad fat, etc. there is good salt, bad salt?
It seems that if I add lots of salt to my food, i.e. salad dressed with lemon and "lots of" salt - no problem and even the Natural Choice Bacon doesn't cause a problem. But prepared or processed food that should be okay - not so much. Then again is it the salt or perhaps something else like nitrates for instance? Just a wild morning thought. :dunno: |
that really makes sense. the salt you are adding is pure salt...i would be willing to guess the salt in the processed summer sausage i ate...not so pure and probably added msg? possibly? do you use sea salt?
good thing, tho...even tho the scale showed a bump up, i do still 'feel' slim and my belt is almost back to the last hole. so...:dunno: |
regarding the belt...there are 5 holes. not too long ago, the third was almost too tight. :o so definitely making progress.
|
I'm really going to try to take this "normal" weight fluctuation to heart and even if I weigh daily, only try to pay attention to the Official Friday weigh in. Focusing more on clothing not only makes more sense, it's really what counts.

:hiya: morning, sunshine!
hope you had a great sleep! so i am down a pound today. happy about that. gain gone plus a teeny bit. how did your day shake out yesterday? did you get up to your minimum protein amount? today's are looking like: (2147 ceiling ... 2068 floor; protein -- 88-92g) cals: 1946 protein: 81 g fat: 174 g carbs (total) -- 21 g coffee w/ 6T hwc 6oz 75/25 ground beef w/homemade mayo and a little sf ketchup 2oz pecans 8oz chicken breast reheated in 2T butter, guy's bbq 2oz almonds keeping it simple today. |
Morning Buddy Girl,
 That's the way to shake it off! Well Mr. Fried Chicken showed up last night. I had two pieces skinned and actually allowed myself a chocolate chip cookie. 21 carbs in that puppy. So I had a bit too much whip to get my macros up. 2265 calories 185 fat 75% 104 protein 19% 30 carbs 6% So I was pretty happy to be down .20 of the .70 bump from yesterday. I'll let you know today’s plan when I figure it out :) |
woo! congrats on being down after the mister showed up! :)
|
Yep, my first experiment "living" with NK. This just might be doable!
So this is how my day is shaping up: B- Bacon and Mushroom Quiche, 1/2 & 1/2 S- Mandarin :yummy: L- Cream Cheese Muffins D- Steak & Salad with Caesar S- SF Whip 1923 Calories 116 fat 77% 78 Protein 16% 35 Carbs 7% |
looks yummy! :) i gotta make an eggbake/quiche thing. they are so nice to have to reheat for a quick meal
i also want to make up a bunch of 'betty r amazing waffles' my BIL calls them 'fried fat' ... lol! 3 eggs 1 brick CC 1/4 c cream 1/2 c almond flour (recipe calls for vita wheat gluten here) 1 cup shredded mozzarella 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp lemon juice throw it all in a food processor. make waffles. these are great for making sandwiches with. |
Sounds interesting, I'm about ready to try something like that.
On the other thread I asked for your Mayo recipe. I know you like the same mayo as me and my first and last time I tried it was a disaster, never thickened. But I'd like to try again. I think it might have been because I used a hand mixer. I was advised not to use my blender because it would over heat. I don't have a stick blender but have a stick blender attachment for my mixer I might try. What do you use? |
I saw your post on the other thread. I'm chasing you again :hyst: So that answers my question. It stays on my Christmas list. :D Since I'll be getting a new one, anything special I should look for?
Very interesting recipe. Does it taste like ranch mayo? Do you dump everything in or dribble the oil in slowly? |
heehee.... ahhhh!!! STALKER!!!
i could just never get the whole spice thing right with mayo which is is why i have never been happy with making it. so on a whim, i tried that. it's pretty good! i just dumped it all in and whirled away! as for a stick blender...there are only a couple name brands that make them. i have never tried them as the ones i use in my shop i LOVE and they don't make anymore. :( braun brand. but there are a couple brands at walmart that should be good. oster? and i can't think of the other brand. |
also, those waffles truly are *amazing* !! never would i thought those combo of ingredients would create such an awesome waffle! a must try! my food processor is big enough for a double batch so i always make a double.
|
I have one of those real cheapie little waffle makers. What do you think about trying these as pancakes?
|
i have heard it doesn't work. i have cheapy waffle maker too. it should work fine.
|
okay sold, I'll try it :)
How's the Christmas rush going? |
