Katy, I'm the same way with funerals. Never understood the "meal in the church basement" (at least that's what most of our funerals have been) thing. I hope it warms up for you!! We're in that 12+ inches of snow crap today. Yuck. Stay warm and
for your loss. |

Ditto Andrea. Stay warm and sorry for your loss.
And yes, I agree about the funeral food weirdness. I get that food is a comfort, but it still can be weird. ![]() Will you plan a correction day or just see how tomorrow pans out on the scale? |

Well, the afternoon of the funeral, Tucker's head cold got worse and he was screaming in pain when I went to pick him up. Ear infection. I'm pretty sure it ruptured because he said it doesn't hurt anymore but it is clogged. Luckily, my old high school friend is our pediatric nurse practitioner so she just called in an antibiotic for us. We won't have insurance for another couple of weeks since DH changed jobs in October, plus we were able to skip the whole waiting room thing. He was in such terrible pain and last night Chloe started in so we started giving it to her too (okayed by my friend). I don't like antibiotics but there are certainly times they are necessary.
I am currently totally miserable from loading and I look about 6 months pregnant. My inflammation is horrible....I totally should have skipped the crap foods and just done a LC load. Ya live, ya learn. I am totally scared of the scale tomorrow, I haven't weighed since my last weigh in here and that is NOT good. I can't stick my head in the sand! I am surely up at least 10 but load weight always comes off pretty fast. Tomorrow will be the start of Round 2, I have a goal to get to the low 180s/high 170s this time.

Just checked my last journal and I usually do gain 10 pounds or so on my loads so I need to mentally prepare for tomorrow. Really not looking forward to it! I also talked about how my load foods weren't worth it and they made me feel like crap so next time I really need to listen to my former self and just do a freaking LC load instead of free-for-all eating! Gah, Katy! Pull your head out!

OMG. First of all, I had 2 extended family members and a family friend pass away last week. Now I just got a text that DH's aunt (I mentioned her and the cancer in my other journal in April 2011), does not look good. She is en route to the Duke ER and she is incoherent. My MIL and my DH's grandma were/are scheduled to go out there next Wed. but I am kind of doubtful they will make it in time. The snow causing all kinds of airline issues. She was going to go last week but FIL threw a fit about the price of flights right before Christmas. 2012 can suck it. My sweet baby Austen was definitely the light in this very dark year.

This year is my year, I truly believe that. I will meet goal by my birthday. I will do the warrior dash in June with a friend of mine. I will figure out my emotional eating. I will find a plan that will work for me long term to keep me at a healthy weight for the rest of my life. I will be an example for my children. I will be an example for other overweight, busy moms. 2013: FINISH STRONG. |

Thanks, Amber! I feel so encouraged by what this year will hold for me: new house, new body, renewed spirit!
Round 2 (no excuses this time!) Day 1: 206.2 (holy load weight!) |

I too feel encouraged by the start of a new year. It's such a good time to embrace the changes we want to make in our lives.
That's really cool that your mom is doing it with you this round. How long will round 2 last? Does she have a lot to lose? |

She's been on hcg for as long as I have. She is a homeopath so we use the remedies she has for it. She has been kind of screwing around with it. I can tell she's gained some back but her start weight was 230-something and she got down to 151. I would guess she's probably back up to 170. She cheats a lot and I try to keep her on the straight and narrow but she has to do it herself

That's kind of neat that you are close in weight and can do it together.

It sometimes takes a few days for our bodies to respond. Maybe you were on the cusp of having an extra pound or two show up after your load? So maybe you can pretend it was a 10 pound loss!!

I had a terrible day full of emotional eating. I am upset with myself but it's nothing I can change now. I will just have to try again tomorrow, I almost didn't 'fess up here but it's my journal and it needs to contain the truth.
I don't really know why I am emotional, nothing bad happened but I just felt so stressed and overwhelmed today. The littlest things got to me. I know the answer for me is the hcg protocol because I felt so balanced during my last round. Tomorrow will be better. |

Me too, Katy. I was very emotional yesterday and ate A LOT. My food choices were still "low carb" but I ate A LOT and the totals of the carbs weren't low. I wish I could undo it, but I can't. Todays a new day! |

I am so hungry! My fault for screwing around with things but it doesn't help that DH went and bought a dozen cookies and a dozen doughnuts. I brewed another cup of coffee so I am definitely over on my milk allowance, but I figure it's better than eating sweets. I told him it wasn't very nice of him.
We have a bday party tomorrow but I think I will do okay during that, I will just stop at Starbucks beforehand. I think we are also going to go to the Y for the first time too. Right after we joined, we all came down with wicked colds/congestion and I didn't want to drop off snotty kids at the KidsZone. I sure hope other parents have the same respect so we don't catch something else, there is nasty stuff going around right now! I am really hoping to be back in the 190s tomorrow! |

LOL, no we did not make to the Y! We went to Best Buy because DH got me a DSLR camera for Christmas and we found it cheaper so we got $100 back. Poor planning and procrastinating on leaving the house are to blame. I am wanting to just get the first visit over with so I think the kids and I will go tomorrow. I am honestly dreading it because of my social anxiety. After I go a few times, I will be fine but I always hate doing new things by myself which is why I was hoping to go yesterday when DH would be with me.
I was not nearly as hungry today so I am getting in the groove. I sneaked a peek at the scale before my shower a few minutes ago and I will have a major whoosh tomorrow unless for some reason I retain water overnight. |
