Bit of an update here. DD is still pregnant. She's pretty much on bed-rest - because when she does too much, she starts spotting. The Dr's have no answers for her, just that she's still pregnant. So we continue to pray. At this point she doesn't want any 'help'... but the kids are doing lots & the church is delivering 'meals' & friends are pitching in. If it ends up being 8 more months of this, I can see her needing a 'mom' to stay with her... her MIL would be the obvious one, because she doesn't work, but they don't get along...

Oh, wow. Well, thank God for the pregnancy continuing but hopefully she won't need to be on bedrest the entire time. What a difficult time for them. I hope it doesn't become a difficult time for you, too.

Speaking of babies, my nephew called me tonight and said that he and his bride of less than one year are expecting their first child! So cool!! They are due August 20th. I told them that we need more girls. He didn't seem to care, as all parents seem to say. When they are able to find out the baby's sex, they will know and share it with us. They are moving to the East Coast this summer so everything is coming up roses. Please Lord, let things go smoothly.

Bunny time has gone really well tonight. Cissy's really getting calm and cool with the rabbit racing around. She was even laying on the bed and I was petting her when the bunny popped up beside her. She started to slowly get up but I talked her back down and they were touching each other. I praised her up and down when the bunny was done doing his thing and hopped back off the bed. She was so happy that she did the right thing. I love her.

Night time. Ttyt. I'm off tomorrow. Goodbye, January! You sucked and I hope February is kinder to us all. We shall see.

Yes, I hope things straighten out for dd soon too.
Congrats on the new baby! How fun, we'll both be waiting for a new baby. I'm also hoping for a girl. When are they due? dd is due Sept. 21st or so.
That rabbit urine is scarey stuff! Never heard of it bleaching a carpet.
The ZERO F this morning felt quite chilly. Molly gets covered with ice when she runs. I used duct tape on her, to bandage her foot that one day, which left a tape mark on her white paw. So today I put peanut butter on the tape mark... which she enjoyed licking off.. then later rubbed the stain with olive oil on a cotton swab... she enjoyed cleaning that up too! Now the paw is nice & white again. It has also distracted her from bothering the sore spot. I opened a can of tuna this morning, split the tuna-water between her & the kitty... she's been sitting at the door to the cat room every chance she gets... really wants the kitty's share!

Peanut butter? Duct tape is a cute idea to protect her little tootsies from the cold. I've made booties for Cisco in the past out of socks and duct tape but they never stay on. Someday I'll just have to fork over the money for actual dog booties. She doesn't seem to care. She goes out, she gets numb, she comes back in, she limps a little while, she thaws out, she goes to sleep.

Cisco loves "tuna juice"! Every time she hears a can opener, she gets excited. It doesn't matter if it's canned diced tomatoes or whatever, she's hoping it's tuna. God, thank you for our pets. They make life so much more enjoyable (most of the time.)

They're due Aug 20th! I was born in Aug so I know the child will be exemplary. OMG. Time for bed. I'm killing myself. Sweet dreams! God bless you and yours.

I guess I didn't share about taking her to the vet to check her dew-claw. I called for an appointment & the gal told me to put the cone of shame on her, to stop the licking-chewing... I opted for putting a bandage on & made sure she couldn't get it off by using duct tape. I wouldn't recommend it for making booties... makes a mess on the fur. I've seen the booties - cute & more necessary for hot climates where the pavement burns their feet.
Great! one month ahead of my baby... hope its on your birthday!

Oh! Okay. It was a dew claw maneuver. Got it, now. Glad she didn't require the cone. I think it would be cool if the baby was born on my birthday but that would make it arrive 19 days early. Better to have it stay in the oven until it's fully ripe.

Hope it's warmer up there today. We're in the 40's! Sunny, too.

I had a quiet day today. Worked on books, cooked veggies, vacuumed. DH went to an all day hockey play off with DS & kiddo's ... torture!

No news from DD yesterday or today. Assuming 'no news is good news.' Funny thing, the specialist said the bed-rest wouldn't make any difference, but she notices bleeding when she doesn't rest. Praying things get better.

I had time to look back & review what I've been doing the last month with WOE. Interesting fact... when I cut back too far on my calories, I gain wt! I've added coconut oil, oatmeal, oat bran, & prunes into my diet to battle the gut issues, which is helping, but still not perfect. Back to rotating calories, but still keeping it up above 1200 cals on low days/ high days just over 1400. I quit 8/16 fasting thing, it effects regularity in a negative way also. Bad thing about that, I get hungry in between meals, but I've added snacks, so that's OK...
Hope that isn't too boring. Its very interesting to me.

Well thank goodness that you daughter is still prego. It is hard when at one month she is having so many difficulties. Maybe as her body adjusts, the spotting will stop on its own. congrats to you and Cheryl both on your first grandchildren!! What a fun time.

Thanks Greeny,
This will be our 8th grandchild. DD's 4th child.
DH came home from the hockey game marathon with a sore throat.
Hope we all have a good Sunday!

Woe! Not so fast, Green. I'm not a grandma. I was a step-grandma years ago, but I've never had kids. This will be my next great niece or nephew. Still a happy event, though! Thanks for the congrats.

Good luck with all your diet tweaks, Deb. Glad it's working for you. Hope DH's sore throat was from shouting at the game and not from a pending sickness.

LOL!! Not likely! He fell asleep! (no, 2nd grade players-can barely skate) he wouldn't be yelling at any game... we're not into sports at all.

I didn't know it was little kids playing. I'm not into sports at all either but it's funny. Whenever I've gone to see something in person in a stadium, I have been infected by the energy in the arena and end up shouting. Once was a scrimmage game in Texas (forget the teams but the guy I was dating took me) and the other time was in south Florida to a hockey game with a girlfriend I met online. Beer helps, of course.

That's funny Cheryl! I know how that works, saw it in high school.
Yeah, I get excited, sing-dance-shout & clap sometimes at church (Jesus is someone to get excited about)! But DH is a calm-cool guy... acts like a true Canadian! He does enjoy 'playing' sports though, and does go to those games for DGS... something you won't catch me doing.
Thanks Laura, DH laying around... bet he goes to work anyway tomorrow though. I had to take a cold tab half way through church too... so at least I'm fighting it now (instead of after he's done). So far, so good.
I need to call DD & see how baby's doing.
Oh... weather report... -1 F this morning.

I just talked to DD. She went to church this morning, which started some more spotting. I think its the urinary track infection... tried to encourage her in that. She goes for another blood test tomorrow & ultra-sound on Tuesday.

Brrrrrr, Deb! I hope it warms up there soon. We're in a thaw right now. Mucky at the farm. Thankfully, nobody rolled on the ground. Seems so odd that your DD keeps spotting with any activity. Maybe it just isn't meant to be.

It really points to the urinary infection. She's done with the antibiotics, she really needs to get this taken care of before it does endanger the baby.

Hi
Today was a bit of a stretch, have that cold, didn't sleep last night (cold medicine?). But I was able to make it through my normal Monday stuff.

I called DD this afternoon, she is better today. She hadn't looked online, so I recapped the article for her & you could tell she was really encouraged by it all. Tomorrow is the ultra-sound. I'm really hoping they 'see' the heart-beat, & possibly the source of the bleeding. One place said its sometimes a fibroid in the uterus that the baby has lodged too close to, but its not dangerous. I sure hope its that simple.

Tonight DGD (their oldest) broke a bone in her foot (playing basketball). They just got back from the ER. There goes one of DD's helpers! Now MIL is talking of going down to help out... the church has been supplying meals & will step it up more until MIL arrives.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

hope you were able to sleep better last night .

Yes, there are so many reasons she could be spotting and lots of times there is no risk to the baby. Hope this is the case for her.

Hi, Debby. I'm sending good thoughts for your daughter. And it's probably for the best that she hasn't looked online--every time I do that, I convince myself that I (or worse still, my kids) have every life-threatening illness known to man! WebMD is NOT a safe place for me!

Here's hoping you shake that cold today.

Hi! LOL @ Verb. I actually don't use that sight. But I do a lot of research online and have been able to rule out things, rather than add on... its also how I ended up getting such excellent treatment for my thyroid. My DD doesn't do much reading, so no worries there either. I appreciate what you said though.
Thanks everyone for your prayers of faith. DD called me at work. The Dr office called & said her blood levels had dropped, so she was in so much emotional pain. She's going through with the ultra sound this afternoon, hoping... Please continue to pray I have never gone through anything like this before.
Thanks Laura, I did sleep till midnight, when my meds wore off. Then another hour after I took some, but at 1 pm I was wide awake from the meds! Somebody show me where the 'drowsy' kind are!

Debby, I hope that the US went well. It was today, right? She'd lost enough blood to have a low hemoglobin? That's strange. That didn't sound like it was possible with just the spotting you said she'd been experiencing. I hope there's no internal bleeding as well. I will pray. What a rough time for all of you. God be with you.

I'm sorry you're feeling under the weather too. I'm fine physically but spiritually I'm disheartened by the whole farm drama. And Cissy is sick. Was vomiting all last night and hasn't eaten anything all day. She drank some water a while ago and I got her to drink some "tuna juice" but she wouldn't lick the bowl after I ate the tuna salad. I prayed that she will be over this by morning. That the tuna bowl will be clean, all the kibbles will be eaten and she will be wagging and barking like her old self again. If not, I'm taking her to the Vet tomorrow, after the storm finishes.

Hi,
Sorry, we went to a meeting last night.

Yes, its probably HCG levels... shows whether she's pregnant.

Cheryl I really hope Cissy recovers quickly. Good she's still drinking fluids. It is scarey when they don't feel well... so unusual.

Hope today brings good news for everyone, especially my DD.
I'll update you as soon as I can.
