Debby, I forgot to address what you said about gifts. What a great idea! And a gift certificate to a restaurant for your loved ones would spend just as good as money.

You're right about that Cheryl! Couch potato I'm not... Puter-nerd is more like it... Besides, everyone in our family is 6' tall PLUS. I rarely sit on it... and its comfortable for me if I curl up my legs (which is how I like to) or put the footstool up... for tall people to sit on a short couch, there's no way for them to get comfortable... (our DS bought a shorter one... his wife is short[& in charge]) he & DH are totally uncomfortable on it... I think we made the right compromise.
Enjoying the finale of Survivor... knew who was going to win, but its fun to see the wrap-up too.
Molly just caught a mouse in the garage.

Wait a minute. You're 6' tall and weigh 127 lbs? The 120's is the low range of normal weight for MY height and I'm 5'4" tall.

Family gift sounds really good and easier too Win - Win !

Our furniture is usually too large for me too, but I did get a rocker/recliner that is small and fits me the last time we bought furniture. DH's rocker/recliner is HUGE but he's 6'4" ! I'm 5'2"

Cheryl, if I'm not mistaken, Debby is around 5'3" - 5'4" too.... guys her 'guys' are tall like mine ! lol !

Go Molly ! Good Girl

LOL! Yeah, I guess I left out the word "else" -- everyone else in my family is 6' +
Thanks Laura, I'm 5' 4 & 3/8 You two sound like my mom & dad... he was 6'2 & she was 5' - pretty cute! My DH is 6'2.5" - 170 lbs. Our DD is 6' & her DH is 6'4. Their DD just passed me in height this year, at 13 yrs old.

We spent money on a chair for me, it was be a desk-chair. I spend more time there. But I do sit on the couch in the family room (downstairs), that's where we watch tv & I surf with my laptop. I use a foot-stool & it is comfortable for both of us too. LOL... probably really confusing you now!

That's what I figured you meant. lol

Your house must be really big, I get confused too..... 2 living rooms ?
Is there a big 'picture' window in the room you use the most ? I just love that idea

Three stories. Middle floor has the big windows. Basement has the tv-family room & my exercise equipment... easily cooled off by opening a window.
Upstairs has big windows too & a great sitting room, but its mostly for guests.

I have a tall family too! I get it! I miss basements . Az doesn't do that b/c the ground is too hard and compressed. Was really nice for extra room though!! Have a great week!

I didn't think you were a tall person, until I read that post where you left out the "else" part. I'm glad everyone has furniture that fits them comfortably. That's all that matters.

OMG! We're getting more snow tomorrow! This will be our fourth storm and it's only December! And they're always on my work days which means I'm working by myself. This time, I'm going to ask the lady who lives very nearby to come help me. I will take her up on her offer. They haven't given accumulation estimates yet. They make you wait to keep you watching the news program.

Have a great day, ladies.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
Busy for me, getting ready for tonight's meeting. Need some 'peace' - a always get nervous @ these things (just because I have to give the financial report... I'm not much for public speaking).
Went for a x-country ski & finished up on the elliptical. Wish I could watch BL... that will be tomorrow... (don't tell me)!
See you later!

I love the new pics! Molly is maturing. She doesn't look so much like a pup anymore. Looks like there's hope for her and Kaboodle, huh? Cute kitty. Sorry about the public speaking. Not sure how you feel about having house guests for 1-2 weeks but I'd be anxious as heck. It's exhausting.

Glad you got your skiing in. Did you get some fresh snow? Try and get some rest to help rejuvenate from your daily commitments. Sleep tight.

Thanks Cheryl, took 'em for you You're right, Molly's maturing... teenager now. 8 months. Should be having her first heat soon.

Yes we got 2-3 inches of new snow. My ski went really well. The new skis really do balance well too. happy about that.

Our meeting went really long... pastors have the gift of gab! My report went fine... just stresses me out.

Hope everyone's evening went well. I may not be able to check... getting sleepy.

You took them for me? Thanks! Speaking of puppies (and growing into teens), I love the smell of puppies. What on earth causes them to smell the way they do? Do ykwim? It's very distinct and universal to all puppies, as far as I know.

I'm glad you got a fresh layer to ski on. Glad the public speaking is behind you now, too. How's the new furniture working out? Comfy? Hope so!

Hi, honey! Just read your post on my journal and I know you're heading out so I figured I'd dash over here and wish you a happy evening and hopefully you'll find something on the menu that is both on-plan and not too expensive. I'm sorry you've been running yourself ragged. Not to worry! The new year is almost here, and with it, hopefully some peace.

I have not been around a puppy since I was a kid. How do they smell?

I have never been skiing either! We have gone to the local ski hills, but always tobogganed instead

Hope you are having a great evening.

Thanks Cheryl, I did find something, a gluten free burger patty & very small tossed salad.

About the puppy smell: They have a very sweet smell, which is a protection for them. Other dogs won't be threatened or attack a puppy with that smell. I believe the smell is in their saliva, but its all over them. Molly lost that smell a couple months ago. But she still smells really good.

Yeah, I'd much rather 'sing' in public than talk... someone else' words....I spoke at a women's night yrs. ago... thought I was going to have a heart attack! So weird.
Greeny, I've only been down-hill skiing once in my life, for only an hour. Its so expensive it puts me off. I was sharing a ticket with someone else, so that's why it was so short. I was just starting to enjoy it when we switched. X-country skiing is much simpler & not as dangerous, perfect for me. And yes, its a good work-out! The thing I like is... you set your site on where you're going & just go for it... going uphill really gets the heart rate going.

Definitely need to get to bed on time tonight. Hope you all have a good one!

I'm glad you were able to describe the puppy smell cause it's like nothing else I've ever smelled in my life. I wouldn't know how to begin to describe it. All I know is that it's precious.

I've never skied but I think x-country skiing would be fun. Even better would be to hop on a horse's back and let him or her do the work. Wish I could. Hope I can. Need to work my way toward that goal.

Have a great day! Hope all is well "up there." I have to get ready for work. Mild and sunny but rain is moving in tonight.

Mama & calf - visiting us this moments ago.

We are getting lots of snow, starting to look a lot like Christmas!
I'm slowly getting ready to go shopping... just washed & trimmed my hair.

LOL... make a joyful noise Laura!

I just got back from shopping... putting together a family basket for DS. Popcorn popper, gift certificate to the DVD store & a nice basket. Need ideas for small gifts for the kiddo's... any ideas?
Town wasn't too crazy, but the roads were sure loaded up with snow, as you can tell from the picture above.
Merry Christmas everyone!
