Love the article.. It makes such perfect sense... But why can we not follow it?? I know that I would love to get in the low 130 or high 120 and I would be fine, but I am fighting with the high 130 rights now and don't like it.. Yes I found those 2 lost pounds from last week already and now have to work them off again..

I have tuna, egg and mayo for lunch today, Quest bar for breakfast if I need it. Susan I think I will pick up some lettuce tonight and add that in.. I know the tuna, egg and mayo is good for me and should keep eating it. I will have the fish and green beans for dinner tonight and keep that up too. I do believe I can make a mountain out of a mole hole if I let myself do it.. I need to just stop over thinking it....

What a couple of busy, busy days! Feel like all I'm doing is going to the grocery store and cooking. DS's girlfriend is here visiting from New York. And one of the twins is still suffering with that darn virus! I had to go over again this morning to rescue DD from the loose poop kid. She just started a new job and her DH is on his 24 hour shift. Can't send the little one to daycare like that. And it was my DH's birthday today.

So I go over there, wait for the kids to feel a little better, pack them up, bring them to my house, get them to take a nap, put together a lasagne for dinner and take a shower. Luckily, I made the cake yesterday. Kids wake up feeling pretty good and DD comes over after work for our little family birthday dinner for DH. Glad it's all over!

So I weighed 148 this morning. But I ate a small piece of lasagne, 1/2 piece of garlic bread, salad. Drank and am still drinking Chianti. Ate a hunk of cake and a little ice cream. Hoping this Chianti puts me to sleep because I'm "on call" for tomorrow if the kiddo is still having the poops. TMI

Little bits is doing better! It really messes up a person's life when kids are sick. I thought I had been liberated from childcare. I guess that will never actually be true when you are a mother and a grandmother.

Maybe today I can actually do what "I want to do". My weight is up to 149 !!!
I just haven't been able to focus on eating the right things. I just grab whatever is within reach and eat. I have lost my low carb mo-jo right now.

You'll get that mo-jo back! You know how some people say they think it's so easy to diet in the summer? I find it's the opposite...all the parties, barbecues, weddings, etc. So much delicious food! Fresh fruit! Peaches! Peach cobbler! lol...I usually gain in the summer. I've been mentally preparing myself for all of the events coming up and how I'll handle them. We have a family barbecue this Sunday and I'm sort of freaking out, lol. My strategy is to eat something before I go and bring things I can eat. I think that's why I overeat on weekends...I will eat more than the usual of the meat dishes so I'm not reaching for the chips and pasta salad. Sigh. Susan, try not to stress about it. You're a beautiful, loving woman and that's way more important than anything the scale says.

Well, it's 20 minutes to NOON and I'm still in my pj's !!! Went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 1:30 am. Chugged some liquid sleep aid and didn't wake up until 10:00 am !!! I haven't slept right for two nights, so I figured WTH I need to sleep and sleep I did. And I'm still feeling groggy. I don't know what my DH thought cause the first thing he said to me was "are you alive?"

I did alot of yardwork yesterday and I thought that would help me sleep better last night, but apparently it didn't.

I did not weigh and I don't wanna know anyway. We have a wedding tomorrow and I better try on my dress to see if I can squeeze into it .

Mary - I'm a worn out people pleaser right now and I'm feeling selfish at the moment! So I'm finished with doing for everyone else and going to relax today! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I hope you girls are not as grumpy as am right now. Have a great day!

Feeling better today. Fully awake at 5:30 am. Wedding today. Weight holding at 149. I don't think I can focus on truly faithful calorie/carb counting until Monday. Gotta psych myself back up for it.

I know what you mean, I had to do the same thing last week and I am finally there after keeping on plan Thursday and Friday. I dropped those 2 pounds that I had found the week before. Back to 135...

Hey girl you are not the only one I am finally back to 138 we all have been loseing our mojo with all these holidays and birthday partys. We will be ok don't fret about it. Look how far we have come. I have come after years and years from 219 down to 138 and I even saw 136 one day. So I am going to do as the article said and relax try to maintain what I have off and don't freek out if I don't loose as fast as I want. When I look at my self I still see the fat me. But this week I have seen my self in windows as I go in and out and I saw the slimmer me several times this week. By the way I liked what I saw. It is funny how when we look in the mirror we don't see where we truly are sometimes. All we see is the fat that is still there. Ohpess! sorry mind started to wander. Love Ya.

Weekend over! Back to behaving! I should fast today for sure. Went on our Tall Ship "Kalmar Nyckel" yesterday evening. Very cool, but not alot of wind to get the sails fully out. So many ropes. Awesome to think people travelled from Sweden to America on a ship like that! Will try to post pics later. I have to go to DD's house again. Kids are running fevers. Ever since they started daycare, they have been sick !

I'm seeing a number on the scale that puts me in panic mode.....nearing 150 Feeling like a puffer fish because we ate Chinese after the boat ride.
Time to get very serious about the poundage returning to the 145 region.

Good job on calories and carbs. I have never read any of the low carb books, maybe I should??? Not much of a book reader...

Sorry to hear the kids are sick...you're right about day care, seems like they pick up everything going around. Ugh. Looks like you're getting back on track! I found the original Atkins book to be pretty straightforward and also gives you a shot in the arm inspiration wise. I hope the kids are feeling better soon! You need a break!

Hey there Smalls...yes, they still have fevers and I'm filling in the daycare situation when Dad has to work his 24 hours shifts. Strep tests today. Ears are okay. Virus??? Momma can't take leave as she doesn't have any yet because of the new job. They have been sick the entire month of June with one thing or the other . My eating is all over the place and I feel really bad about it. Gotta get ready to leave the house -

I hope you get a break soon and the kids start feeling better. Gracie was feeling poorly a few days this week with a sore throat but no fever. She has allergies so that's probably the cause...I wonder if your grandkids may have allergies too? I run a fever when mine are bad. Whatever the reason, I hope they are feeling better!
