I know how you feel....I am definitely trying fish and salad tonight as it has worked every time for me....so I will see, I was really hoping to see a drop this morning, I thought chicken salad would kind of be the same as fish and salad...or maybe its not that but some kind of rest period, I am also going to walk up this big hill today as I was doing that to start with around the 15th when I started this....I think it all adds up....more fish...more exercise....Susan go and make friends with your treadmill again....try fish for dinner.....you have to do it....I will feel awful if I have a drop tomorrow without you....
You will love Jean Plaidy, she turns all the history into really good story's, in fact I might pop to our library today as I haven't read one of her book in a while now....now we just need the sun to shine....I hope your snow went away...my 2 sons in Nova Scotia are expecting 50 cm of snow today, I have moaned and moaned at the them to stay home, I hope they listen to me.....nasty horrible stuff.....
According to that article we read there isn't any such thing as starvation mode, but is he right...I meant to re read it again yesterday but didn't so I am going to do that now.....I will let you know any handy bits I read that might help us.

You are definitely correct in saying that I need to visit the treadmill again!
We are having shrimp tonight. I guess I'll need to put mine over some lettuce.
I really wish the weather would be nice enough to get outside during the day. I could chase the kids around the yard and get some sunshine in my system to make me feel more enthusiastic! Some day, Some day soon.............

Susan, thanks for the carb and fiber info... Going to read up on this and see what I can change in my way of eating..

maybe a short walk on the treadmill will help. I try and do a few jumping jacks while I am in the bathroom at work each day.. It's a large one person type bathroom. I also do standing wall pushups as well.. I know funny place to exercise...

Well I did read the whole article again, the one Julie sent through, I liked this bit below so I copied and pasted it......

And yes, the more excessively low your calorie intake is (and/or the more excessively high your output is), the more significant this “slow down” will be.

But the thing is, this “slow down” will never actually be significant enough to STOP or PREVENT weight loss from happening or somehow CAUSE weight gain. That’s a myth.

The truth is, there is no such thing as “not losing weight because you’re eating too little.” No matter how little you’re eating, you’ll always lose weight if a deficit is present.

I know you have never said any of that or thought any of that....but just thought it was interesting....he did mention our metabolisms slowing down and he suggests if that's the case to eat normally for few days and then start again....just a thought....oh does that mean I can have pizza lol....

I blew it today with carbs because I ate one fig newton! Did you know one fig newton has 10 carbs!

Thanks for the encouragement Sandy! I did walk on the treadmill while the kiddos napped. And I will try to do it again this evening! I'm having 22 shrimp for dinner and 6 oz of oven roasted zuchinni. I better not eat anymore tonight!

Ok Girls - 155 still !!!! I slept in (7:30 instead of 5:30) . Kids staying home with dad as he is not on duty today. I am surprised that the scale stayed the same. But I did visit the treadmill twice yesterday - it must have helped. Now I need to see how you guys have done!

I am so glad you got to sleep in a tiny bit this morning...wow 5.30 so that's why you are the first one after me to always post lol.
Yep you definitely have to have fish and salad...try it...I don't think shrimp has the same effect....so tonight for definite, if you don't have any then go and buy some...you need to see a drop.....or is it me that needs you to drop lol.....You did really well on the treadmill yesterday so all of that is going to help....I swear you will see it in the morning....
Julie was telling me that she saw on youtube something about people eating fish and losing weight....I might have to check that out as its weird.....
It will all be ok in the morning when you see you have dropped, ...just stay strong and keep at it, with a deficit it is impossible for you to hang onto your weight, I wouldn't be surprised that when your scale registers tomorrow you will have lost more than a pound....

I am having fish tonight with the left-over shrimp. I think I will make a lemon mustard sauce to go over the fish. We have left over zuchinni also. But I was just reading a thread on the Main menu titled "Just Meat". I'm thinking maybe I should not be eating the veggies to get the scale moving. And certainly not snacking on popcorn or munching a fig newton at night.

That is brilliant Susan I am so pleased to hear you are having fish lol.....I think we have all gone mad.....I am just off to read that title about Meat, knowing me I will be back to ramble...
Snacking lol.....but if they are low in carb and calories it makes no sense why this is stalling you....I would eat your low carb low cal snacks tonight and see if the fish gives you the whoosh you are due....if you don't eat them tonight you will never know if it was the snacks or the fish that made you drop....and then you could be giving up the snacks for nothing....not sure if that makes sense, I think I have had to much fresh air and it has made my brain tired lol....if you don't lose any weight in the morning I think we should think about 0 carbs for a couple of days....I just finished rambling about it on my journal lol.....but try to leave the fig newtons alone tonight lol....oh I love those things, as soon as you wrote about them this morning I could picture one in my mind and remembered how they tasted lol.....

I'm still holding on to that 155 number. It loves me so much, it just doesn't want to leave me. I'm sorry 155 - I need to break up with you. It's not you 155 - it's me. I want and need something else. I am sorry. There just isn't any thing a like about you anymore -I'm fickle like that - I was very excited to see you after so long, but you bore me now. It's a girl thing - I need change!
If you love me 155, you will let me go!

I am really surprised that this is happening...it makes no sense....ok so you have choices.

1...Keep on doing what you are doing...when you are in deficit of calories you cannot hold onto the weight.

2...Cut out all carbs completely for a few days and put yourself in ketosis, and then start again.

3...Eat normally for one day (trying to maintain) and go back to low cal low carb.

I am with you....I was so unhappy when I saw your number...going off to sulk and have a coffee.....

Although you did have me in stitches with what you wrote...that was so hilarious lol...

It is pouring with rain here as well, no nice walks for me either....our spring has gone away....ok going to sulk....

Thanks for sulking for me Sandy . I'm feeling blue. I do think I am going to need to "GO ZERO" for awhile and increase my lemon water intake. It will be very hard I think. Now I need to research zero carb foods. Are there any? Hidden carbs are everywhere!

But then another part of me says: Maintaining 155 for awhile might be a good thing as it means my body is happy at this weight and then when I start removing more carbs my body will be shocked into losing more weight that will stay away longer. You know what I mean? (is a week "awhile"?)

Going to do some research....and make a list for the store .

yes I know what you mean...maintaining might be good, that is what the guy recommended in that article to get things going again....my worry is that you will eat normally for a while, you will see your scale go up by between 1-3 pounds and it will depress you....although in the long run when you start again it should come off like it did at the beginning....I don't know if I would do a week, I would worry you would put to many pounds back on....this is so important to us that it easily effects our mood....and the sun isn't shining to make everything ok lol.....also I don't want to see you go back up.....I think you should take the day to think about it, or you could wait and see if in the morning the scales move......its been about a week now, so we have to figure something out....

If you were to cut out carbs this is what Atkins says

60 g 2oz steak do not drain fat
2 scrambled eggs with bacon
60g 2ox chicken or tuna mayonnaise
40g 1 1/2 ounces macadamia nuts

He says each one of the above contains 300 calories so to keep things at 1,200 calories a day on trying this.

Going to research more as well ......

You funny!

All I could think of was:

Set me free why don't you babe
Get out of my life why don't you babe?
Cuz you don't really love me
But you keep me hanging on!

Ha! It sounds like you're doing great. Sometimes that darn scale just won't do what we want.

Hang on Susan It will change. Just think you would get mad if it went up. Then you would want to see 155 again. It will work out. It could be the popcorn. Some people can't eat it at all. Love ya!

Not a smidge of food crossed my lips after dinner last night and it was hard! I kept telling myself that I wanted to see the scale go down, down, down and....
I was rewarded with 154.8 this morning!!!

I really hope I can stick with this number for a while. Cross everything you can for me!
