I have returned from paradise! It was a warm, green, lush, sunny and tropical experience! It was warmer than normal for this time of year. But we welcomed the heat and humidity. Just beautiful and roosters and chickens walking everywhere. We stayed in a lovely Victorian B & B.

I tried my very best to stay focused with eating properly. And we walked and walked! I weighed myself when I got home and the result was 162. I really thought I would weigh less. I guess I had one too many nibbles of DH's Key Lime Pie and I did have a few drinks! It confuses me because when in the B & B, I did not have the late night munchies, but last night at home I definitely wanted to graze through the kitchen! I hate that!

I will try to post a few pics later. I only have about 600! I will catch up on your journals and hope you are all doing well! Tonight we are expecting more bad winter weather .

Welcome back Susan....don't worry about the 162 as I got to 163 lol, as I am in the middle of changing my eating, so you are still winning our competition lol.

It sounds heavenly where you went....as soon as you said heat and humidity I was jealous.....looking forward to seeing your pics, wow only 600 lol.
A Victorian B & B sounded lovely, what an amazing time you must have had, but glad to see you back.....

Welcome back Susan! So glad you had a great time. Vacations are not about weight loss. Please know that you were disciplined, walked a lot and you did NOT gain. That is a victory! And you had a great vacation to boot! So glad you are back, Doll!

Hello Girls! Thank you for the WELCOME BACK! Woke up to a non-functioning scale! Panic Time! Maybe it's just batteries....I'll check later. Sleet and snow for today - YIPEE - .... not thrilled about that.

Attempted to attach a few pictures....that didn't work either ...

Not having a good day so far .......

That must be tough...having all that sunshine and warmth and now you are back in snow and sleet....sending you warm hugs, it will soon be over and spring will be here.

Sometimes I find if things don't work like uploading the pics it helps to walk away and try again later, you don't need the stress of it.....but really hope you sort it out, can't wait to have a peek.

Scale fixed! 162

5 inches of snow...Oh Joy! It is 11 degrees right now.

I felt the need to "walk" yesterday! I used the treadmill twice since I did not have the kids yesterday. 1/2 hour walking each time and it felt good to move. Must have been all that walking in Key West that inspired my body to move! LOL!

Gotta get this weight loss ball rolling!

We need that sun to shine I think, but its on it way never fear, its good you got some walking in, today I managed to get to the beach for a two hour walk and it felt really good, but the weather is still jackets and scarves....wish the warmth would hurry up though.

Weight is exactly the same. So depressing. I do not want to be 162. I want to be 150 or lower. What's a girl to do? I have been playing this game for far too long with no results.

Hi Susan, I just wrote a longish message to you on my thread.....I wish I could give us both a magic pill so we could just be where we want and need to be, its frustrating isn't it when the scales aren't moving and you are sticking to the plan.....so have you jumped straight back to low carb after your holiday with no loss at all....that is just weird as you would think after being on holiday and starting again you would have a whoosh.

I would say after giving it a few more days I would try something else like Judd, but only if you think you can cope with the down days of 500 calories, my first down day was easy, my second one was harder as I just wrote in my message to you on my journal.

You will figure it out I know you will, either the scales will start moving or you will change to something new, I would give it a few more days as low carb has worked so well for you and doesn't make you feel blah.....hang in there woman....

It's a mystery for sure! I have no words to help...but you're a decent size now...maybe the loss is more inches than scale ##? I dunno...

Once all this yucky winter moves out, we'll all feel like moving more...even the scale!

Thanks girls for your support! Still the same........but I am going to persevere with my journey! Not giving up! Don't want this to block my focus on moving the number down. I have walked on the treadmill everyday this week. That's a positive change for me. I am going to try to incorporate more protein shakes in my meal plan. My DD is doing The Virgin Diet and seeing success. I'm re-reading the plan and may try to give it a "try" . I do need to do something different. I also found "The Emergency Diet". Reading that also. TED is calorie counting and fasting. It is also "Lent" where Catholics give-up/sacrifice something that they truly love during the weeks before Easter. My sacrifice would be to stop snacking after dinner. I know this would help me drop some pounds....we shall see if I can do it!

And a definite "YES" for warmer weather to "get with the program, already" .... waiting, waiting, waiting

Glad you are sticking with it Susan, it has worked for you before so it will work again, and am so glad you aren't giving up, I think if we give in we will just go up and up so we need to be on some kind of plan....I have never heard of the virgin diet before, it sounds interesting....and the emergency diet....oh I love changing things up it just keeps everything more interesting....if you do decide to change you will have to tell me all about it......anyway glad you are sounding more positive today.....keep at it....we will get there by the time summer comes, I know we will.

Still plugging along and feeling a little more comfortable and confident that I will see a change on the scale very soon. I make myself go into the basement and walk the treadmill everyday. Yes, I have to "make" myself do it. I don't want to do it. But it will become a habit eventually and not feel like such a "pain".

Sandy - The Virgin Diet is an elimination diet. Author JJ Virgin wants us to eliminate wheat/gluten, corn, soy, sugar/artificial sweetners, peanuts, dairy, and eggs for 7 days. You are supposed to lose 7 pounds in seven days. She doesn't count carbs. This is the part that I have a problem with. She says we may have a food intolerance that causes weight gain. When you re-introduce the foods, you will know which food causes your problem.

The Emergency Diet is a calorie counting, carb counting and fasting diet. Like fasting with 200, 300 calories days for several days and then eating days of 1200 calories. Seems like JUDDD to me!

I really am leaning towards TED more than the other. I can't explain it. But for the last 3 days I have only had coffee for breakfast, protein shake for lunch and a very small dinner. I've felt more "in control" and the urge to snack is down. So, I'm hoping for a weight change soon!

Thanks for the info Susan, I looked into both a little bit yesterday, they both sound good and it does us good to change things up a bit I think....I was re reading some of your journal, I have been journal obsessed the last few days just to see what was working the best for people, and I noticed on yours that you did the best when you were watching your calories and carbs etc, some days you were eating just under 1000 a day and you were seeing decreases in the scale so often.....so I have decided that is what I am going to have a go at for now, just counting calories etc to see if it works as it seemed to work for you....I am such a copy cat lol.....you seem to have a lot of willpower with only eating little bits like you have for the last three days so I know the scales are going to give you a good loss soon.....this weight loss is a very frustrating thing but at least we are on top of it and trying to do something about it, it would be so much easier to curl up with a good book and a bag of nuts lol.....

160.8

I believe a "miracle" has occured! Very excited! My pattern of nourishment is workng! Coffee with almond milk for breakfast, Protein Shake for lunch and a sensible dinner. Treadmill each day (sometimes twice a day). Staying around 1200 calories on most days. I may throw in a fast day of 500 calories during the week. I will have salad with tuna for dinner on those days.

I have to continue to log my food into a calorie/carb/fat/fiber counter to stay in control.

And it's time to "spring forward" with the time. We will get an additional hour of sunlight which is a very good thing for my psyche!

Yay Susan! You are in those wonderful 150's! That's s so great! Thanks for sharing and encouraging the rest of us!
I drink coffee with HWC every morning( on school days around 6AM) and that seems to hold me until about 9AM. It's crazy, but it seems like if I eat a big breakfast of eggs & bacon, I'm still starving at 9ish...

Anyway, I'm interested to see what plan works best for you.
Have a great Saturday!

Checking in twice today to post my food stats so far: 717 calories and 19 carbs
(we ate dinner early)
Hopefully, I can resist snacking later this evening. I'll update in the morning.

Thanks Sandy and Becky! I did do a "Happy Dance" this morning when I saw the loss! I'm hoping for another slight decline tomorrow.

Hoping you get another little whoosh this morning....I was still at 160 so no change, I guess sometimes we have to wait a few days.....come on Susan you have to catch up with me now lol....you are beating me on the low calories though I think I was at about 1,000 yesterday, so that is motivating me to get mine down a bit today...

What a good morning it is! Woke up to blue skies and the sun is rising! As I stood on the scale with it's blink, blink, blink I was repeating "Please be lower, please be lower, please be lower". And guess what - 159.8 ! WOW!

I must confess that I did indulge in a few snacks after dinner. Popsicle "Philly Sweet Delites" 14 cal / 4 carbs / 1 fiber and a couple of leftover cold baked chicken tenderlions and a swig of almond milk. So that raised my calories up a little, but apparently not enough to matter.

I wonder if I can get away with eating breakfast today? It is Sunday and I always make breakfast on Sunday. All other days DH has to fix his own .
Maybe I'll skip the protein shake lunch and have bacon and eggs today. Sounds like a plan!

Hi Laura! Sorry your little escape was rainy! We had sun and about 60 degrees today. I got to rake out some flower beds - oak leaves .
It feels good to see the soil under the leaves though! Things are sprouting! Two eggs, 4 slices of bacon =

Still the same today - 159.8 - no complaints here!
Going to continue what I am doing and hope for another drop by the end of the week. Today should be a nice day and I hope to be able to get outside with the kids to enjoy some sun! Coffee is calling my name right now!
