Yay! it's February!

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. today. I must be well-rested. Tried to log in earlier, but couldn't so I went top that place I can't mention on here but it starts with a P and ends with a T. Found lots of new recipes, inspirational quotes and listened to Louie Armstrong sing "It's A Wonderful World". One of my very favorite songs! I am feeling good!
Mind is in the right place to work on this reduction of myself. It's a numbers game with me. Until I see that number go down, down, down...
I won't be completely fulfilled.

162 - I want to say good-bye to you!

Yes it is Laura! It's is 40 degrees this morning and we are going up to 55 today a heat wave before the rain coming next week. I don't mind - don't want to see anymore snow.

DH wants nachos for his super bowl snack. So, I'm going to make chili and use that to top his chips with all the other toppings. And I hope I'm not going to put ANY of those chips in my mouth. I'm anticipating that I will put the chili and other yumminess on top of a big bed of lettuce .

I have been faithfully logging my food and I really think I need to start keeping my calories on the lower end. At my age (56), I can't go whole hog on the unlimited protein allowed on the Atkinish lifestyle. I do believe in eating the good fats. I could never give up coconut oil - I can eat it off the spoon - love the way it feels in my mouth.

Gotta stay in control !

Absolutely beautiful day yesterday - 56 - felt good on the face!
Ate well yesterday - bacon, eggs breakfast and chili over salad mix for dinner. Pistachios for snack.

Shopped for some new tops for our trip. Found 5 tops perfect for me!
$90 spent at Ross = 2 Nautica, 3 Jones of New York


Still at 162 and hoping to continue to reduce this number.

I guess I'll be sitting at 162 for a while. Frustrating. Calories are under 1,000 / carbs are usually 25 or under and fat intake is up. I can't eat alot of calories anymore, even if they are the proper calories. I would like to see 155 by the end of February. But if I get to 159, I'll be pleased. It's a slow process for sure. Wish I could get outside .

Now we have freezing rain to contend with and possible snow this weekend. Spring will come! Spring will come!

Guess what - 161.2 !

I am so pleased with this number today. Seeing the number go down will keep me focused on not cheating. I'm hoping to see at least 159 by the weekend. Please! Please! Please!

Calories yesterday were close to 800, carbs around 15 . That means I consumed very little. And it's funny because I did not feel hungry. I felt in control and extremely positive by bedtime. It was a good feeling and I hope to experience that sense of utopia again and again and again!

Yay Garden!! You are doing great! It's so strange how we go through phases...losses are so unsteady. I wonder what we would do if we lost according to how we did...if we were good and clean, we'd lose consistantly...for me, I'd probably develop an eating disorder...because if I kept on seeing that scale go down, I'd be propelled to keep losing whether I needed to or not...

I guess our bodies need to take a scale break to regroup...and we just have to be patient!! Sounds like your in a losing phase! I hope you see 159 by the weekend too!

Good Morning Susan, I am with you on the 155 by the end of Feb, I enjoyed reading your journal, bits of it really made me laugh...when you lost the eggs was funny lol,
Anyway I will be here cheering you on, I hope we can both make it.
Freezing rain and snow oh no, we lived in Ontario Canada for twenty years, freezing rain used to terrify me, although it looked lovely on the tree's all shiny and shimmering, but driving to work etc was scary, anyway stay safe and warm.

160.2 this morning

Something is finally working for me. I want this to continue! I found a photo of me from 30 years ago - boy, I was skinny! Hubba Hubba Baby!
I don't expect to ever be that thin again, nor do I want to be. But I would like to be a svelte, classy older women.

I'll do a "Throw Back Thursday" of that photo later !

You guys should post some old photos too! It's fun and helping me to stay inspired to keep this weight loss going. I know I'll never look like that again, but I can try to stay at a lower weight and stay a healthy older woman in order to be able to enjoy the "memories of the skinny me".

And the weigh in today.......drum roll........159.8

Finally back in the 150's.....slightly back in, but there none the less!

Susan, I hear you are going to the Florida Keys. I am so excited for you! The Keys are fabulous -- so relaxed, sunny and fun. We used to live in Miami so we would escape to the Keys every now and then for a weekend. The Keys offers such natural beauty -- plus fun/relaxed nightlife and good restaurants not to mention great art galleries for shopping. So HAPPY for you and your continued weight loss. You work hard so it is great to see you get results -- what a wonderful inspiration for your friends.

Thanks Ladies! I find all of you inspiring in my continual journey in weight loss ! The weight today is 159.2. Not much, but I'll take anything I can get.

Gail - We are so looking forward to our trip to the Keys! It's a "Bucket List" check-off. Warm weather and crystal clear water will be a real treat! I'm really trying hard to drop some more pounds before we go. I want some wiggle room! Looking forward to some awesome seafood too!

I'm going to go through my clothes closet today to weed out things that have been untouched for god's knows how long. We may get more yucky weather this weekend .

My part of the closet is clean! Wow! So much to donate! It is still rather full, but at least not so bunched up . And I can fit into what's available. Still have too many shoes! But, you know a girl CAN'T have too many!

Convincing DH to go through his stuff is a problem. And I learned my lesson long ago not to do it for him! He doesn't let me forget how I threw away baseball hats shortly after we got married. Big Mistake! I guess men feel the same way about baseball hats as women feel about shoes!

Weight wise today, I'm 159.6. That's up a few ounces, but I'll continue doing what I'm doing - High Fat/Low Carb/Controlled Calories.

Laura, Gail, Becky and Sandy - I'm finally back to my signature weight - 158.2 !

Thanks to you for cheering me on ! Seeing this number on the scale at 5:00a.m. was just the best way ever to start my week .

Becky - we will be heading south in two weeks! I will not be posting during the trip, but will post a few pics when we return.

So, my DH went through his clothes in the closet. He discarded 5 pair of pants and 6 shirts. He still has 86 shirts hanging in there! His rationale: "they fit".
My statement: "but do you wear them?". Answer: "No" And I don't know how he thinks they fit because I know he did not try all of them on! And why do I keep washing they same shirts over and over each week?
It's ridiculous! I organized them by season, sleeve length, style, etc. Now he says he can't find anything It's time for a "shirt sneak attack".

That is brilliant Susan 158.2, I definitely need to catch up with you lol, I wonder if you are walking more than me as you seem to be dropping it quicker...is there something secret you are doing lol....anyway its great, keep it up as it is motivating me.
That was so funny about your hubby saying he didn't wear his shirts but can't get rid of them because they fit him, a sneak shirt attack sounds like a plan though, maybe just five a week lol....and wow does he really have 86 shirts hanging in there, that is a lot of shirts.
You do sound like me though with hanging them all in sleeve length, I do the same thing in hubbys closet and my own lol.
Anyway well done on your loss it is amazing and you are going to be smiling all week long lol.

STS today - 158.2

Made cupcakes with the twins yesterday. Didn't have any desire to eat one ! Sprinkles everywhere, but they had a blast.

Laura - We will have 7 lovely days away! Can't wait !

Sandy - I'm not walking at all! Watch the twins for my daughter everyday so I'm constantly on the move around the house. I'm keeping my calories low to jumpstart the weightloss. Usually below 900 a day. Taking L-Glutamine, CLA, Magnesium, D3, Coconut Oil along with my regular meds for thyroid and high blood pressure. I've learned that I can't go whole hog on the low carb available food options. I just can't eat the unlimited calories that they say you can consume and still lose weight. And yes, my DH has that many shirts!

That is lovely you are looking after your daughters twins....ahhhh I bet they are adorable, when my children were little I was so skinny running around after them and working, children are amazing for giving us lots of exercise...thanks for letting me know about the calories, I think I am going to have to start doing the same thing as I have had no loss for 6 days, so I might try seeing how many calories I am having, thanks for letting me know..

My hubby's the same way...it's very hard for him to get rid of clothes. I sure need to go through my closet too... I have every thing hanging in some type of order...it makes sense to me...but maybe not anyone else! haha

You won over the cupcakes! That is quite a victory!

I probably need to lower my calories too. ...
