Susan, don't worry. Look, you are still thin and pretty close to goal weight. If you need some time before you totally buckle down, then that is fine. You eat healthy foods the great majority of the time and your overall health is good and you are NOT overweight. So take a deep breath, lady, and give yourself a break.

You need the strength to hang in there with DH for the time being. Taking care of a stubborn, sick guy is not fun -- you know it and I know it! Just know that you are still going in the right direction. You are hanging in there!

Thanks Gail! But clothes are getting tighter and torso rolls are making a comeback! And I don't like it. I'm going to get back on the wagon because I'm the one stuffing the wrong things into my mouth. October was not my month. Here's hoping for a "New Outlook for November"! My plan is to keep the calories lower. I know calories are not supposed to be the culprit, but it's the only way I can reduce my bulk. We'll see how long this attempt lasts .

Wanted to snack, snack, snack last night! Halloween candy is lurking in the pantry! I asked myself "What do I want?" I answered myself "I want to be tall and thin!". How to accomplish this - Heels and stop eating the wrong things! No candy for me....cheese sticks instead. Today is a new day!



DH update: More meds with refills! Steroids for inflammation of disc and nerve issues. Physical therapy and return in a month.

I have to fess up.....$100,000 bar and peanut butter cup.....consumed.

We only had 14 kids at the door -WTH ! Where are all the kids? Now I have a bunch of leftover candy!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I'll start by tossing some in the trash.

I was very, very good otherwise. I ended the day under 800 calories, but 30 carbs. And that included the candy!

Laura, under 800 calories and 30 carbs is great! Especially with the candy consumption. And you ate two of my favorites too -- LOL!

Had a great weekend! Weather was spectacular! Got a very good deal on azaleas at the local nursery! 75% off and they are in good shape! I'm always happy when I'm able to get my hands dirty!

Eating has been helter skelter.......it's that darn Halloween candy! Baby Ruth's are gone....Butterfingers don't seem to tempt me so much!

On to a new week!

OMG! My weight has climbed to 163! I'm seriously sick of this roller coaster ride and I want to get off. Time to reform my wayward ways and get this weight off. I feel like a rancid stuffed sausage link ready to explode!!!! Not a pretty sight......

Oh no!! It's a TOUGH time of year- you need to get that candy out of the house. Either throw it away or send it off with a friend..or bring it to a shelter or something.

You got this, go shopping and stock that pantry with GOOD stuff!!

Susan, get the candy out the house and you will be fine. You know how to eat low carb but that is hard to do when there are sweets everywhere. And you don't look like a sausage -- please! You will look great and you WILL get to your fighting weight.

Have faith! How is your DH by the way? Is his back better?

Hi Jessica! Thanks for stopping in to help get me back in gear to get rid of the extra poundage! How are you doing?

Gail...I know, I know.....there is very little left...and it's not appealing to me anymore!

I have been very good so far today! I've had 1/2 dozen eggs by 3:00 p.m. and a little chicken broth. I also joined a challenge that runs through Christmas on the LC Challenge board. I'm hoping that will stimulate more effort on my part to behave.

Dinner will be roast beef leftovers and salad. Hopefully, all this protein will curb the snacking!

WOO! HOO! 2 days in a row! 158.8 today!

Had chicken broth, Flat Out wrap with a cheese stick rolled inside for dinner. Nuked it for 30seconds. It was satisfying. I wished I'd had some pizza quick sauce to dip it in - woulda' tasted like pizza! The wrap was only 90 calories with 14 grams of fiber.

Hope I can keep up with this pace of not eating much and losing the excess weight .

Doctor appt. today - my regular check up.

Came across a new book on Amazon - "Carb Nite Diet" - basically eat low carb, low calorie for multiple days and then you can eat your carbs on the night of your choice to boost your metabolism to get your body burning fat. What I read was very informative (did not buy the book).
I'd attach a link, but being the old lady that I am, can't get it to work! Duh!

Boo Hiss! My encounter with the scale this morning was a disappointment . 159 RATS! Up 1/2 pound instead of down and I wasn't indulgent at all yesterday. I will be outside today building a new field stone wall
around a flower bed that I'm refurbishing so maybe the result of the exercise will make me happy when I weigh tomorrow. We'll see. I won't be derailed. I won't!

The scale refuses to move! I was outside all day yesterday raking leaves and moving rocks, digging in the dirt. And the exercise did nothing for the poundage. But I enjoyed myself immensely and I hope to get out there again today! I'll be all layered up as it is getting pretty chilly.

Yes Laura, I do love my yard work! I'm happiest with my hands dirty .

Same ole' Same ole' today! I'm not overly concerned, but will focus on adding more fat into my diet as opposed to protein. Apparently, the liver will turn excess protein into sugar...my sugar count was 98 from my bloodwork. Need to focus on getting that lower.

Beautiful sunny day, but cold! More yard work today! Gotta stay ahead of the leaves!

Those first few pounds were just water weight from the candy, now these next few will start to be the pounds that really matter LOL!!! Keep up the good work, a whoosh is coming!

I had a pleasant surprise as I gazed at my friend "the scale" - 159.4 .
I certainly hope I can continue to watch the number go down.

I've been eating strawberries, hard boiled eggs throughout the day. Last night dinner was a small NY strip with one cup of broccoli. I did snack on almonds last night.

Tonight will be fish and vegetable of some sort.

Hey Gail - Thanks! I'm still the same today - 159.4. Will keep the focus on eating well. Currently reading Maria Emmerich's "The Art of Healthy Eating" and "Secrets to a Healthy Metabolism". Lots of interesting information if I can remember it all .
