I agree with Laura. And your plan of eating veggies and low carb dip at night is really smart -- I do the same thing. It helps fight off the hungry horrors without going off plan.

Last night I made baked Rock fish fillets (striped bass) covered in salsa and a little cheese. Salad on the side. Tonight it will be Chicken tenderloins baked with spinach/onions and a little alfredo sauce and probably a salad.

I have been so good lately - it's scary ! Weighed myself in the middle of the day - and it was 152! But it will probably be 153 tomorrow morning. I don't want to re-gain the same weight over and over again. I hope to continue this way through the weekend and next week. If I can, maybe I will have finally gotten back into the groove.

Have a great weekend!

152 ! Had a great weekend! Lots of yard work and stayed on plan with my eating choices! Excited to watch the scale continue to go downward!

Your menus sound delicious -- the striped bass and chicken sound divine.

Good for you to stay on plan all weekend! I wish I could say the same....It's just so easy to stay on track at work all week because the schedule is the same. The weekends however are just so random. I need to be better.

I agree that your menus sound delish! Keep up the yummy options and you should have no problem staying on track.

Still 152 ! I want to see downward movement on the scale! I should not be complaining though. Last night I snacked on pork rinds instead of veggies and I really thought it would show up on the scale this morning, but it didn't! So for that, I am thankful. I think I need to go on the "Lettuce Pray Diet" and consume nothing but lettuce to get to where I want to be! Bless me Father for I have sinned.....I tend to eat too much

Thanks for the positive comments Gail, Laura and Jessica! It really helps me to keep trying to lower my weight! Jessica....if I could have your stats I would be in 7th Heaven!

Stressing over the weekend forecast....Tropical Storm Andrea is moving up the east coast! My neice's OUTDOOR wedding is Saturday @ 4:00 pm. Hope the storm passes through quickly and the sun emerges just in time for her! My sister is going nuts! My grandtwins are in the wedding. Praying for all to work out.

Weight - same 152

Hey Susan- I'd be stressing too! Wow I just heard about the storm this morning, I think a lot of people on the east coast are waking up to the news and thinking WHAT?!?!?!?!

I'm going to a red sox game sunday, super excited.....of course weather permitting now! Ugh!

Fingers crossed the storm passes before the wedding. I bet those little grandbaby twins are going to look super cute all dressed up!!!!

---good for you grabbing the pork rinds as a late night snack. veggies would have been good too, but maybe not as filling and certainly higher in carbs. If you want to jazz the rinds up you could melt some butter with just a packet of splenda and a little cinnamon then drizzle it on the rinds. I like to do this!!! Although it's been a while, so I need to remember to grab some rinds soon. It's a close resemblance to those cinnamon twists that taco bell serves, but practically no carb :-)

Thanks Girls! It will be raining today, but it hasn't started yet (6:00 am). Hopefully it will pass and be dry for tomorrow! There is a tent and barn setting for the reception. We are decorating the barn today. The wedding ceremony is supposed to take place in the gardens of historic Sotterley Plantation. If it's too soggy in the gardens, they will have to adjust plans I guess and perform the ceremony under cover of the barn/tent.

Confession time - Chips Ahoy indulgence last night! (I know...what were they doing in my house? )

Enjoy your ball game Jessica! Love me some stadium food !

Oh man, a soggy wedding.... I had one.....although they say a wet knot is stronger? LOL.....I think that's just to make the bride feel better! Good luck with decorating, I'll be thinking about ya!! I know a couple other people with outdoor weddings tomorrow and I feel for them, because I've been in their shoes. However the show will go on, and people will have a good time no matter what.

Damn those Chips A hoy!!! I can probably guess how they got there, they were probably for the little ones! I am pretty bad about poaching my kids snacks, I need to be better. I NEVER liked animal crackers until I couldn't have them. What's up with that?

Have a great weekend!!

Well, time to catch up! Friday's wedding prep was a rainy mess! The five sisters and some additional relatives turned the barn into a beautiful vintage abode for my niece. There was a tent adjacent to the barn for dancing and dining. We went back on Saturday morning to do the tablescapes. My sister calls us her "Martha Stewart Ninjas". My brothers, bless their hearts, kept the grounds dry by actually using shop vacs to get rid of the soggy areas of the gardens for the ceremony itself. By 3:00 pm on Saturday the rains stopped as if on cue and the sun came out! It all turned out just beautifully! Blisters on my feet from dancing in too tight shoes!

I managed to get down to 151 !

Tried to upload some pictures, but it keeps telling me it failed . I'll try again.

Thanks! The bride and her mom did all the props. Some are family heirlooms. They have been crafting and gathering for nearly a year. The bride is an Art teacher. Her dad is a real craftsman on the side - he makes cabinets and furniture as a hobby ! Lots of talent in their household. And of course she had the rest of us to perform our "Martha Stewart Ninja" expertise to pull it off ! My poor sister is exhausted, but happy!

Thank you Gail! The DH is feeling better, but still has a little blurred vision. But...he went to work today and also saw our family doctor. He will get an MRI hopefully tomorrow. We had a wicked storm come through this afternoon and all services were knocked out so we could not get through to schedule the MRI. We'll call ASAP in the morning. (His CAT Scan was good.) Fingers crossed!

DH had his MRI yesterday, but won't have results until Tuesday's doctor appt. He says he does feel much better, but I still am paranoid - could it happen again, etc.?

Sunday is Father's Day, Monday is his 60th Birthday! I've planned a little dinner party at a local restaurant with his closest friends on Monday night to surprise him. He thinks it is just an immediate family dinner out.
I'm letting someone else cook and clean for me !!! Credit Card Time! I'm really not a "party" person. UGH!

Eating has been all over the place! I need to concentrate on me for once, but it's not in the cards right now.....

Been MIA........rollercoastering with the weight.........I don't like summer months.....too many temptations and celebrations !

Was a little "lighter" this time last year - disappointed in myself.

Hubby had another MRI...results Tuesday...he says he feels fine, I'm paranoid.

My grandmother's home will be burned down on Sunday. Built in 1899.
She passed at age 103. Farm was sold by my uncle to pay for nursing home costs. He would not accept the offer made by my brothers and cousin to buy the 99 acre farm....greedy uncle....

Last Sunday, we were able to go to the farm one last time to take mantels, doors, stairway, doors, doorknobs, windows, etc. Architectural keepsakes to re-purpose. My most prized treasure is the slab of stone from the front porch entrance door! Thanks to my brother with his little bucket loader, we were able to dig it out and move it. I can't tell you how many times I stepped on that "step" to go see Granny! I will place it at the entrance of my gazebo. Emotional times

Susan, so sorry to hear about your grandmother and her home. I can see why this is a rough time for you. Glad to hear your husband will be okay though. Health scares are awful and hard to get over.

You should go easy and be gentle with yourself. You are still at a very healthy weight and you look terrific. Last year was an easier year that this year -- and we all turn to food temptations when times get tough. For what it is worth, you look gorgeous and happy in your avatar and you have a life surrounded in love.

Getting back in the groove as July is here. Good-bye June! Got the step placed in front of the gazebo and did alot of other yard work yesterday.
Hot! Hot! Hot! I am at 153 this morning. I hope to be back to my stats by the end of the week. I really need to get below my stats and stay there.

You are not getting old and you look WAY younger than 56 -- you look a good 15-20years younger than that if not more! Your astrology sign is Cancer so I have some good news for you (as you know, I am an amateur astrologer!). Jupiter, the planet of good luck, just entered Cancer and will remain there for one year. So in the next 12 months, plenty of good luck will come your way as well as new opportunities for travel and adventure! Happy Birthday Susan!
