ok.. one week of eating clean... minus 9 pounds.. ... then got up this am and saw 2 more gone woot woot.. not counting those yet.. only on Mondays

I went off the deep end last night . . . got caught without food in my stomach and out on the town . . . bad combo. Starved, I sought out my own destruction. Then I did it again tonight.

Nope, didn't plan to fail because I wasn't hungry when I left the house. Wasn't even thinking about food, which was a surprise. But as my evening progressed, I became hungrier and hungrier until I just HAD to stop somewhere . . . (to be continued . . .)

The problem was that I was driving and I thought about getting a low carb burger, but you can't eat that and drive, so I opted for a regular burger . . . then as I'm sitting there ordering in the drive thru, out of my mouth pops "I would like a ______ combo, please." As I'm pulling around I'm thinking, "WHAT? A combo? That comes with fries! It's bad enough you're getting a bun! And weren't you supposed to stop drinking pop?!" But I did it anyway . . .

Makes me wonder if I wasn't looking for an excuse to sabotage myself or at least looking for a reason to eat some of my comfort foods. It was easier the next day to do the same thing all over again . . . I didn't mean to get caught without food in the belly . . . again, wasn't even thinking about food when I started out on my errands, but by the time I was in full errand mode, BOOM! That's all she wrote, folks. But this time I'm pretty sure making the wrong choice was on purpose. I think I remember thinking about how I didn't gain anything from "yesterday's" indulgence (I didn't lose anything, either), so I will be okay today as well. I'm such an idiot, sometimes.

ok.. so.. next time you have errands ... even if you are not hungry... either take something with you or stop some place for pepperoni or something to hold you over.. if your gonna be out a while.. you WILL get hungry..

I'm doing TERRIBLE! BUT . . . since we are not getting together this Saturday, I will be cooking allllllll day in prep for the next couple of weeks. This way I have NO excuse!

Start Date: Feb 28 2013.. (lc) down 61.5 pounds :)
Homemade Summer Sausage

Ingredients:

5 lb ground hamburger (no lean burger)
5 Tbsp liquid smoke (found near barbecue sauce)
5 Tbsp morton salt tender quick (found in dark blue bag in spice aisle)
2 Tbsp coarse ground pepper
2 Tbsp minced garlic
2 Tbsp mustard seeds

Directions:

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients with your hands like making meatloaf.
Cover and Refrigerate 24 hours.
Take out and knead one more time then make 4 (14x2 inch) logs.
Put them on a cookie sheet with 1-2 inch sides.
Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours.
Take out and wrap in wax paper with aluminum foil around that.
Refrigerate until well chilled.
Serve by slicing and eating alone or with crackers and cheese.

NOTE: When rolling logs into shape, make sure you knead the meat and form a tight log so there's no cracks forming while baking.

Went to the gym yesterday as a blast off to October 1st. I had made a promise to myself that I was going to step it up and I did. Went to the gym in the morning for some cardio (10 min elliptical; 7 min recumbent bike). After work I went BACK to the gym for 10 min elliptical and 10 min recumbent bike. I needed to do this to keep myself from eating bad things before I went to Lisa's. Then after the gym I didn't go home. I crocheted in my car until it was time to go to Lisa's. I'm determined to make a good showing during October. Besides, if I go to the gym 12 days in a row I get a discount.

This morning I went to the gym for some weight training. Did some chest and back exercises and finished off with some cardio. My knees are killing me, however. It looks like a Tylenol day!

went to the gym after work . . . it was much more difficult to go today after work, but much easier to go before work.

I've got some funky things going on with my lower legs right now. Not sure if I'll be able to go tomorrow. might take a rest day. Don't want to injure. After all, I'm going from couch to potato to being active. Must be careful.

I totally get that . . . but I made a promise this time that October 1st was the day I would do it and I'm going to honor that promise. I'm beginning to realize that I have to want it more than my excuses.
