Day 226

I weighed in today at 306. I'm up a couple of pounds but that's to be expected with all the hormones I'm taking. I have noticed my feet swelling, so I'm not shocked. The fluid retention will resolve itself when I'm done the treatment.

If I'm lucky enough to get pregnant, I want to continue on my eating plan. My doctor said he doesn't want me losing weight while I'm pregnant, but since I don't really deprive myself of calories, I really can't see why my diet is any worse than a vegetarian or a raw food eater. I get all my vitamins. Besides, he can't STOP me from losing weight. There are millions of reasons why women lose weight when they're pregnant.....

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf coffee

Lunch:
Egg salad w/2 eggs, 1 oz ham, spring onions
1 oz cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 chicken breast w/salsa, bacon and cheese
1 diet soda

I with you on this one. I too have been up and down the low carb scale. Do great for alittle while then give in to temptation. My husband is one of those who can eat anything and not gain weight. I can't let that keep me from doing what I have to do. This time I WILL stay on course.

Day 227

Thanks for stopping by, Gabby!

I feel so much better than I have my life under control (even with all these crazy hormone injections)....so glad I came here and had so many people rooting for me the first while. I really needed that!

Today is day 9 of my IVF journey and I found out that I have 6 "good" eggs that can be extracted. I'll have my retrieval next Wednesday, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 decaf Starbucks coffee

Lunch:
200 g guacamole
4 Wasa Black Pepper Crackers (10 carbs)
5 gherkins
.5 oz goat cheddar cheese

Dinner:
1 filet of trout

Day 228

I was so busy today, I kept thinking I had to update my blog but something kept interrupting me.

I was on plan but I'm too upset right now to write everything.

I'm upset with my husband. Everything was fine until he went upstairs to watch TV alone. He said he had no patience because I didn't change the TV channel as soon as he wanted me to. I didn't want to be alone tonight. I told him he could watch what he wanted, but it was too late.

I messed up but I didn't think he was that impatient. If he told me, I would have just let him watch what he wanted.

Stupid hormones. I feel like puking.

Day 228

Thanks for the hugs, Bacon Bit! I'm pretty sure that drama last night was tied to my hormone levels---I went for my monitoring this morning and they said my estrogen was very high. This morning my husband said he meant nothing by it last night....he just wanted to watch a movie upstairs.

I went to cycle monitoring this morning, then we had breakfast and stopped by an organic farm market. Hubby bought some elk and bison burgers and I bought an organic Arctic Char....I might eat it for dinner.

I spent the rest of the day (about 6 hours) painting my Muskoka Chair. It's done now--it just has to dry.

Breakfast:
1 feta, mushroom frittata
1 cup of decaf coffee

Lunch:
None

Dinner:
Possibly Arctic Char (if I don't fall asleep first)

Day 230

Found out today that my ovaries are touching. How does that happen? Well, apparently, I have lots of adhesions from endometriosis which cause my ovaries to touch. Because of this, my retrieval has been moved to Thursday when another doctor can assist mine. Also, I'm on a liquid diet until then.

I looked up a liquid diet online and found out that I can have heavy cream (whipped cream!) and I can have Jello (unsweetened, no carbs!) AND....PUDDING! I found sugar-free pudding with 7 carbs per cup and it's sweetened with Maltitol (hey, I need an enema so this will only help everything along).

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf coffee

Lunch:
7 gherkins
1/4 oz goat cheese
150 g. guacamole
4 Wasa crackers (7 carbs)
1 diet soda

Dinner: (Start of liquid diet)
Beef broth
Strained yogurt (unsweetened)
1 pudding cup
1 diet soda

1 diet soda

Dinner:
Pudding
Broth
Jello
Diet soda

WHOOPS!

Dr. informed me this morning that yogurt and pudding don't count in his liquid diet. Hmm..should've asked more questions---I researched online.

So, lunch turned into broth and 2 cups of jello. Dinner will likely be the same.

Day 232

Today I'm off work because my doctor not only wants me on a clear liquid diet but I also have to take Pico Sallax (a purgative) to clean my bowel. TMI? I don't know....but....it's not as bad as everyone said it would be. I had a flu about a month ago that was far worse than this.

SO, not much to say about my eating. I can't eat after midnight tonight and the Pico Sallax is sweetened with saccharine so I'm not ingesting much of anything, much less carbs or sugar.

OH--weighed in this morning at 310.6. YEP, gaining. You'd think after a liquid diet and eating so little calories I would have lost, but no. I'm gaining fluid like mad.

Breakfast:
1 packet of Pico Sallax
2 litres of water

Lunch:
Clear chicken broth
Water

Dinner:
1 packet of Pico Sallax
2 litres of water
Chicken broth

My retrieval was a success! They retrieved 10 eggs. 3 were immature and couldn't be used. Of the 7 remaining, 1 didn't fertilize properly, but of the 6 remaining, they fertilized perfectly. Now we have to wait until Sunday to see if they continue on.

I'm back to eating solid foods. I'm eating pudding and yocheese today just to get rid of it.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf w/5% cream

Lunch:
1 cup yocheese
1 pudding cup (7 carbs)
1 diet soda

Dinner:
Part of a flattened chicken that my Hubby will grill
1 diet soda

Today I found out that one of my eggs started dividing again, so I'm back to 6 good eggies! Looks like my transfer will be on Tuesday...it's getting exciting!

As I promised, I'm keeping on plan with my eating. Today I'm invited to a bridal shower at an Italian restaurant so I may be eating around many things, but I had a pretty big breakfast to compensate.

Breakfast:
3 eggs fried
5 strips bacon
2 decaf coffee

Lunch:
Italian restaurant (should be interesting)

Dinner:
Guacamole w/Wasa

Wow, that Bridal Shower sucked. Not to be a Negative Nancy, but the restaurant had very poor service and it was a set meal so I had to go with the choices offered. There was no alternate choice for the pasta course, but I didn't expect that, so that didn't bother me. I skipped it. The appetizer was good--cheese and cured meat with some olives. The main course was a very over cooked grilled chicken breast. Blech. I make chicken breast all the time and mine are NEVER so bloody dry. It's amazing the type of "cooking" that happens in restaurants these days. Gordon Ramsey would have had a field day.

Not feeling 100% today---I'm still sore from my egg retrieval. My implantation is tomorrow but no one has phoned me yet. I'm a bit nervous about telling me boss that I'll be out of the office again. *sigh*

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 decaf coffee

Lunch:
200 g guacamole
3 Ryvita Crackers
5 gherkins
1 pudding cup (7 carbs, sweetned w/splenda)

Dinner:
1 flattened Greek chicken on the grill

Day 228

Today is implantation day! Still cautious...don't want to get my hopes up. I have the whole summer to tread lightly and be cautious. I've already been told that I can't help my sister move on Friday and I can't even help her clean her house....GRRR.....

I did weigh myself this morning---I thought it's a good idea since tomorrow I'll officially be "pregnant". I will weigh in again, but I was curious if I lost all the water weight from last week. Turns out I did---I'm at 304 again.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf
WATER (you need a full bladder at implantation)

Lunch:
2 roasted chicken legs
7 gherkins
1 pudding (only 1 left...)
1 Jello
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 salmon steak

Day 229

Thanks, Abby and Seabreezes! I have to say--despite what everyone says, the implantation day was terrible for me. My bladder was overfull, my ovaries were swollen and the process was so uncomfortable, I cried at least 3 times.

The chances of me ending up pregnant are pretty slim. The doctor implanted all 6 cells (yes, cells...on day 5, they didn't progress to blastocysts).

Here's some good news, though---my weight is 299.2 as of this morning!!! How the heck did I do that? 5 lbs overnight? I think it's because I've been on progesterone suppositories since Thursday and all my water weight is dropping off.

New low and I'm in the 200's! WOO HOO!!!

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf

Lunch:
2 roasted chicken legs
5 gherkins
1 Jello
1 Pudding
1 diet Soda

Dinner:
1 veal chop

Day 230

That's awesome to hear, Biochic! Congratulations on your progress! The thought that I've inspired someone else REALLY motivates me to go on....

Today is rainy and I feel really worn out and tired. I've been waking up at 5 am every morning this week because my husband needs to go into work early. I've been coming to my own job 1.5 hours early every day, as well. It's tiring.

On Saturday, my husband is helping my sister move, so I suppose that will be another early morning for me. I think I'll definitely try to sleep in on Sunday, although I still have to figure out a gift for my Dad for Father's Day.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 decaf coffee

Lunch:
2 roasted chicken legs
1 vanilla pudding (sugarless)
1 orange Jello (sugarless)
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 trout filet
1 diet soda

I was able to sleep in until 6 am this morning and I feel much better! The sun is shining, which also helps a great deal!

I'm having cramps--I don't know if that means one of my eggs are implanting or I'm just going to have my period. Time will tell, I suppose!

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf coffee

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
3 strawberries
1 SF Jello
1 Diet Soda

Dinner:
Part of a flattened chicken
