Day 167

Happy Easter!

Doesn't really feel like Easter! I was so busy this weekend, that I ended up having to do housework today. In about 10 minutes, I'm leaving to have dinner at my aunt's house. (I made the low carb tiramisu, that I will photograph and post a photo here, later on)

On a sad note, my sister in law miscarried her baby this morning. As badly as I felt when I found out she was pregnant, finding out that she miscarried really made me sad. I was really looking forward to being an aunt for the first time.

Breakfast:
1 whole egg and two egg white omelette with onion and tomato and cheese
1 cup of decaf

Lunch:
None

Dinner:
Whatever low carb fare I can find at my aunt's house

Dessert:
Low carb tiramisu

The previous picture was so enormous, I thought I'd post another here that is smaller.

I deleted the other photo, so eventually, it'll be gone.

Day 168

Good morning---M_S is feeling like crap today. Aunt Flo is visiting and she's particularly miserable this month. ARGH. I'm wondering how I'm going to get through the day!

Easter dinner was nice. I ate two pieces of lamb, a couple of thin slices of ham and a lot of salad. My low carb dessert was ok, but the recipe could have been a bit more specific. The cheese mixture was too runny and there wasn't enough coffee in the layers to take out the eggniess of the "oopsie" layers. It went over ok, though.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 cup decaf

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
1.5 oz raclette
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 chicken breast w/cheese, bacon and salsa
1 diet soda

Day 169

I'm feeling better today, but I'm not exactly feeling "well". Urgh.

It's already lunch time and I'm just getting to my blog now. I know everyone is probably tired of hearing this, but I'm busy at work today.

Tomorrow is weigh in day (should be ok?) and I'm seeing a fertility specialist tomorrow morning. My husband couldn't come along, so my friend is coming with me. (Hey--moral support is a good thing!)

We'll see what happens!

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs with kosher salt and cracked pepper
1 decaf coffee with 5% cream

Lunch:
3 chicken legs roasted
1.5 oz of raclette cheese (I'm really digging this OKA cheese)
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 trout filet
1 diet soda

Snack:
1 MacDonald's Decaf coffee, large

Your post show up as tiny after the huge picture. I don't know if someone at LCF can fix the problem.

Good kick at your appointment tomorrow. I hope you get great news.

Day 170

Weigh in--I'm up 1 lb. I think I'll re-weigh tomorrow.

So, just returned from my appointment. This doctor was very forward---he said that my ovaries are undersized so they're likely shrinking. I had my blood drawn and they are testing my FSH levels. If I'm lower than 10, then they will try a round of IVF on me, if not then my options are to harvest my sister's eggs.

I'm okay with both options and so is my husband. I'm lucky to have a sister that is willing to do this for me.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs with kosher salt
1 decaf coffee
1 AMericano decaf at Starbucks

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
1.5 oz raclette
1 diet soda

Dinner:
Bacon and Eggs (or an omellette..not sure)

Day 170

The doctor called last night at 7.00 pm and my FSH levels are 4.5. That's excellent....although my eggs are dwindling, I am clear to start IVF as soon as possible (I could have started today, but I think I'm going to start next month).

HURRAY! (I'm scared.)

I weighed myself this morning and I'm at my posted weight. I am retaining fluid still (not sure why--lots of salty stuff on Easter? My period?) I am not really focused on weight loss right now, although I continue to eat 100% on plan.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
1 decaf coffee
1 decaf coffee

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
2 oz raclette cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 veal chop
1 diet soda

Day 174

It's Sunday and I've been awake since 8 am doing income tax returns. Thankfully, all are complete.

Next Saturday my sister in law is hosting our birthdays (April 15 and 16) at her place. I asked her if she'd be more comfortable doing it at my place, but she'd rather be able to put her daughter to bed early, so I went with it. She's familiar with low carb, so everything should be fine.

My sister is coming by tonight with her boyfriend to bring me farm fresh eggs (they live in the country). She will bring me the very last of her receipts and I will finish her taxes (they're really simple). Afterwards, we're going out for dinner.

Breakfast:
3 egg omellette w/cheese
3 strips bacon
3 cups of decaf (hey, needed coffee to get through the taxes)

Lunch:
I'll find something

Dinner:
Going somewhere, but don't know where.

Kudos for keeping up the cheat free days!! I wish I could wake up tomorrow and have the "cheat-free" fairy leave a sign that she visited me during the night. LOL - I guess I must realize that it is up to me and not someone else, a situation, or a fairy!! Hugs!

Dipgal:

I used to stay away from LCF because all the people who lost weight seemed so magical to me...it depressed me!

These days being on plan means staying healthy. I focus on the positives and never dwell on the negatives. ..no matter what!

You'll get there but only you can make the change.

Good luck..I'm rooting for you!

Day 175

Feeling fine today--thankfully! Last Monday, I remember feeling like complete crap! Damn Aunt Flo!

SO, I was thinking of my mental state right now. I've decided to go through with the IVF and I think I'm really spazzing out on the inside. I find myself eating mindlessly (not even close to the way I used to before, but I have noticed).

Yesterday, I did taxes from 8.00 am through until about 3.00 pm. My husband made me an omelette and some bacon for breakfast and I had about 3 cups of coffee while I was working. Since we were going out for dinner with my sister, a full lunch was out of the question for me, but I thought I'd find something when I went shopping.

I really wanted guacamole, but I find that it puts weight on me, so I passed it up for some dried sausages. I know that they're about 200 calories a piece and I planned to eat one, but while I was watering my plants, I managed to snack on TWO. After that was finished and I was winding down (this was at 5.00 pm), I ate 4 squares of dark chocolate. Usually, dark chocolate is a treat after dinner, not at 5.00 pm. Considering that we ended up going to dinner with my sister and I ate surf and turf (with a caesar salad and vegetables), I feel as if I consumed too many calories mindlessly.

Suddenly, I feel as if I'm eating for security. I really like the saying that someone has on their tagline:

If hunger isn't the problem, eating isn't the answer.

I truly believe that and I try to think of that every time I'm compelled to eat something when I'm not truly hungry.

When I eat mindlessly, I worry about myself. I begin to ask myself why I'm slipping back into my old ways and what is bothering me. I think the IVF and the related preparation scares me. For instance, I notified my employer of the possible days I'm going to take off and I can tell he's not happy.

I have to keep myself in check.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs w/kosher salt
1 cup decaf with 5% cream
1 cup black tea

Lunch:
3 chicken legs, removed from bone, mixed with leftover string beans and 1 tsp mayo
1.4 oz raclette cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
Spaghetti Squash
Meatballs
1 diet soda

Day 176

Late start today! Geez...I got out of bed 10 minutes late, left the house on time but was delayed by traffic, had to stop at a side job to drop off paperwork, stopped for a coffee and some gasoline THEN received a call from a co-worker to pick pick up milk () because she forgot.....*sigh*....arrived right on time at 8.30 am, but geez-louise, a usual 20 minute trip took me almost 1.5 hours!

Busy day at work, although nothing pressing. I have to tie up a bunch of loose ends that have been hanging around since Friday.

Tomorrow is weigh in day and I HOPE it's darn good news--no more of this "maintaining" crappola.

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs with kosher salt and pepper
1 cup decaf with 5% cream
1 extra large Tim Horton's Decaf (cause I felt like it)

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
1.5 oz raclette cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 veal chop
1 cup mushrooms
1 diet soda

Day 177

Weighed in this morning at a new low of 310.6. Sounds horrible, but I don't remember the last time I weighed 310. My sister got married in September of 2011 and I weighed 328 immediately afterwards (was doing doctor supervised weight loss at the time and I still have my paperwork). I remember that I quit going to the clinic shortly after that, so the chances of me losing from that point are slim. I certainly wasn't as low as 310 at any point after that (mainly because I started IUI treatments in 2012 and I remember eating (and gaining) up a storm.

SO, yay me!

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs w/salt and pepper
1 decaf coffee with 5% cream
1 chai tea, no milk

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
1.5 oz raclette cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 chicken breast stuffed with asparagus and cheese
1 diet soda
(I might have some eggplant because I'm making it for my hubby)

Day 178

First off, thanks Judy! I actually weighed in again today and I've lost a few more ounces! Wow!

Yesterday I was reflecting on how this blog has helped my weight loss journey this time around. I've been an internet junkie for 16 years now and even though I have had my own webpage and I've participated in forums for at least 12 years and even tried to start blogs, I was never "successful" until this one.

I've come to the conclusion that the fact that this started as an angry post with a title that really "said it all" is what has brought me back every day for 178 days.

178 days ago, I didn't set out to start a blog. In fact, the idea of a blog was distasteful to me because I thought they were overdone and not helpful to anyone. My original post was just that, a POST. I updated daily because others were rooting for me....when the PTB moved my "post" to the journal area, I understood the reason and just decided to go with it, whether anyone read it or not.

When I log in daily and search for "PO'D but back with a vengeance"...I remember just how PO'D I was that day. All the passion that I felt the day I stepped on the scale and saw that I was more than HALF WAY to 400 lbs comes flooding back and keeps me on track.

11 lbs from now, I will be out of the 300's. For most, a weight in the 200lb category is catastrophic...for me, it's a symbol of hope and determination.

VIVE LOW CARBOHYDRATE DIETING. Thank you for giving my life back and my energy.

...and now for today's menu:

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs with salt and pepper
1 decaf coffee w/5% cream
1 chai tea with a drop of 2% milk

Lunch:
3 roasted chicken legs
1.5 oz raclette cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
1 salmon filet w/tartar sauce
1/2 c. roasted eggplant
1 diet soda

Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs w/salt and pepper
1 cup decaf

Lunch:
3 smallish chicken legs, roasted
6 small pork ribs (from a local place--3 carbs, too salty, won't have again)
.5 oz cheddar cheese
1 diet soda

Dinner:
Chicken breast stuffed with feta
1 diet soda

Might even do some serious DRINKING tonight.....LOL

Day 180

Keep it up, you're doing great!
Thanks, MagieDen!!!

Today is another busy one and I have to make another sugar free cake. This time, I'm going to try my hand at a Hazelnut Gateau. Wish me luck--I've only ever made this cake with REAL sugar, so I'm not too sure how it'll turn out.

Just a bit of backstory, it's my birthday on Tuesday and my Sister in law's birthday on Monday, so we're celebrating together tonight. I'm making this sugar free cake for my parents (Dad on Atkin's, Mother is Diabetic) and my hubby and I (Atkin's)...everyone else will eat it because it's there. LOL

OH...since my six month mark is technically on day 182, I'm going to wait until Monday to update my signature line, then I'll update it on the 15th from that point forward....just makes more sense.

If it doesn't turn out (like the last one, UGH) we'll just eat it anyways because that's always my motto when I cook...if I make it, we have to eat it.

Breakfast:
2 fried eggs with bacon
1 cup of decaf

Lunch:
Don't know

Dinner:
BBQ at my SIL's house
Cake that I will make....lol

Here's a photo of the cake I made for our birthdays:

It's a hazelnut chocolate gateau...the layers are meringue and hazelnuts with some cocoa and in between is whipped cream.

I hope it tastes ok--it should.
