Day Sixty-Six:

Woke up this morning 3 lbs lighter I hope it sticks!

It's still a crap-storm here at work, but only 1.5 days left until I have a whole week off.

OH--I should probably share that I had a mini cupcake this morning. Before anyone freaks out, it was exactly the size of one of those Reese's mini peanut butter cups...very, very tiny. Reasoning behind this--my boss' 22 year old daughter brought them in for Christmas and she was SO proud of herself and she really wanted me to try one...so, I did. It was good and I told her so. The rest are in the breakroom and I will not touch another.

In other Christmas news, I received not one but TWO boxes of homemade Christmas cookies today. They will be a great addition to my holiday entertaining because I'm not touching them!

Hi Melles, I have been so busy the last couple weeks I haven't been on here a lot. Just wanted to say CONGRATS on the 3 lbs. You are doing a great job and staying on track even when the scales aren't so good to you. Thats when its the hardest and you are not letting it make you slide back to old ways.

I've been doing great on JUDDD. Its really a neat WOE once you get past the mindset that very little food every other day seems impossible, it was for me at first because eating low carb it was pretty much okay to eat as much as I wanted as long as there were very little carbs. Now I can do that every other day, within reason.

Just wanted to check in and say Happy Holidays and KUTGW!

Not to worry about the cupcake.

That was nice of you to put your boss' daughters needs ahead of your own. But now back to putting YOU first.

And the cookies- I'd put them in the breakroom and forget they ever happened. Or if you MUST take them home with you (Yes, I remember your stories about cupcakes during your commute ), put them in the trunk and then shove them in a bag in the freezer once you get home.

I will try to do the same. Our breakroom is filled to the brim with treats right now. I am just trying to avoid it all together.

It's almost day sixty-eight! I was so busy at work today, I couldn't do an update.

Everything is great now since I'm home from work and holidays have officially begun. Im posting on my new phone right now--it's a Samsung Galaxy Note 2...I like it because it has a nice big screen!!!

I am busy getting ready to have a big family dinner tomorrow, so that will be our biggest celebration; its when all the kids, grandkids, etc could make it. I plan to eat whatever I want...just not a lot of it.

My sugarless vanilla bean cheesecake is in the oven and Paula Deen's gooey chocolate cake is done. The base for my garlic spinach dip is finished---just waiting for the spinach to defrost.

Tomorrow is house cleaning day and then we're having dinner with my parents.

I don't think I ate enough yesterday. I was busy running around and baking so lunch was non-existent and dinner was a few little meatballs and some clams.

You have a lovely day, too. It is early in Hawaii so we are just starting our day.

We belong to a club that puts on a beautiful spread of food for the members today. That will be our outing for the day.

We had 12 people in for dinner last night. All in all, a lovely Christmas for us.

Now on to a healthy and happy 2013 and healthy eating.

Christmas was a great day. Unfortunately, my sister in law's dinner was terrible! Everything was cold, the turkey was dry and the low carb veggies included carrots. I ate around the bad stuff but I didn't eat much. My spinach dip was a hit--it was gone by the end of the night.

Today I'm just relaxing.

Boxing Day is not a U S tradition, but since my mother-in-law was born in Canada, we have a lot of Canadian relatives. We are familiar with the holiday.

We are going to a Chinese restaurant tonight for a birthday party. It is not my favorite as it is almost impossible to eat low carb, so I just push the food around my plate! The group we will be with is great though.

Ooohhhh dry turkey...thats too bad. Mine turned out fantastic. And so did my stuffing and gravy. Its hit and miss with me so I was very pleased.

I had plenty of turkey and veggies and only a little stuffing and other carby stuff. All in all I am happy with what I ate.

You continue to stick with it and I am very happy and impressed! Keep it up Melle's, soon a new year and enforced dedication to weight loss. I know you will do this!

I was planning to weigh in this morning but we were hit with a huge storm during the night so I jumped out of bed this morning to help my husband shovel. I will weigh myself tomorrow morning.

I weighed in this morning and I am legitimately ANGRY for the first time since I started this blog.

I'm up to 335. WTH??

This is the thanks I get for not cheating over Christmas??? What's the point? I would have gained 7 lbs if I cheated, so why didn't I? At least there would have been a REASON for gaining! I was down to 328 only 6 days ago--WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

This morning it was nearly impossible to get my rings on, so I'm guessing I'm retaining water--but WHY? It's only 2 weeks into my cycle so I could be near ovulation, but that shouldn't put on 7 lbs! I'm wondering if it might be caused by me shoveling snow yesterday--physical exercise can cause water retention.

SIGH.

This truly ruined my day and it's only 6.41 am. What a buzzkill.

Cheering you on..and agree that maybe you are one who needs to look at calories in addition to carbs..or maybe go without dairy. Or maybe cut out wine except on special occasions. I'll be making these tweaked, too! You can do it!

Weighed myself this morning---lost a lb.

I'll post my daily menus so everyone can critique them, but I don't think there's much to tweak! I haven't had wine in more than a week...it's not an everyday thing for me. I don't eat frankenfoods and I don't have low carb sweets.

Tonight I'm having friends over for a pre-new year dinner...more later!

My husband suggested that I plot my menstrual cycle on a graph with my weight to see if there's a pattern. I may try that.

Smart hubby!! Look over the last few days for any extra salt intake. Since you have been eating clean for so long any additional salt may have caused the water retention.

Sounds like a yummy meal.

I'm picking up friends at the airport in a couple of hours. They are coming to have New Year's with us from cold Chicago for a week. It is a lovely 80 degrees F here today.

We'll be eating out a lot! I always find there is a lot of salt in food I don't prepare myself. I think I will be glad when all of the eating is over with, even though I love to eat out and have company.

Today I baked a sugarfree chocolate cheesecake for tonight. Hubby and I are having stuffed pork loin with string beans for dinner. Should be a nice NYE.

I'm one pound above my posted weight right now...the 7 I gained is slowly coming off. I hurt my back while shoveling snow...that could be the reason for my fluid retention.
