So sorry to hear about the bullying, Dani. I think your daughter did a GREAT job handling this situation, however! She sounds like a smart cookie.

I dunno, sometimes I feel like some parents are just on a whole other realm than me So weird!

I got the feeling this girl has issues at home, but more of her making than anything else--also I'm not sure what her dynamic is there, meaning, single parent house, or??? Parents who just don't care, or ridiculous high expectations that she feels she can't live up to, or????

Thanks! This kid has been thru the ringer with school, lemme tell you. She has a pretty stiff backbone and very verbal when she needs to be. Which, is sometimes why most kids feel threatened by her because she calls it as she sees it. She is more articulate than most adults I know, and sometimes I have to stop and remember that she's only 17 All adults love her which really works to her advantage when she's in certain situations. Jealousy is an ugly ugly thing and the girls around here make no bones about letting those feelings known. And then DD bites back and then they learn....leave her alone or you're gonna get bit!

Dani~ sounds like your girl has a good head on her shoulders. It also sounds like the other girl is not as stupid as she sounds, especially if she volunteered to straighten up and fly right. Hope it all just fades away and soon.

Monica I remember when my then middle school child came home talking about girls who had supposedly already had sex. It's scary for sure. Not evey child has a good home life and some mistakenly look for love in the wrong way. Sad but true.

She really isn't dumb, which is kinda the sad part. They're in an english college 101 class together which you have to test for so..... she does have a brain in there somewhere. DD said today was non-eventful and found out from her english teacher that apparently it was made clear to all of DD's teachers that this other girl is to not even utter DD's name whatsoever.. I thought it was kinda funny when he told her, ".....if she even so much as farts in your direction I wanna know!" She's had this English teacher for 4 years so they know eachother well so it's super funny knowing him.

Ah yes, the daddy issues girls... sad, but so so true. Makes me sad.

A successful free day yesterday. Cut way back on dinner and had no beer. Felt really good to be in control. Only up +.8 which I'm sure is water with the 2 diet cokes w lemon that I had. Ok ok, sue me.

2 weeks until we leave. I can't believe I was waiting well into triple digits for LA and here we are...staring down the end of 14 days.
Been thinking alot about how I'm going to eat while away. Thankfully it's only 2 days so not overly long or dramatic. I'll probably bring a few protein bars for alittle insurance at least at the venue while waiting in line, etc. At least I know I won't be inhaling copious amounts of beer, right?

Prepping some more food today--crazy how fast it all goes around here once dear ole mom is the one preparing it all.....Suddenly, everyone feels *hungry*

Thanks Carol!! It is nice to see a steady stream downwards instead of all over the plan.

Quiet day, yet busy yesterday. My food choices were sort've lacking for whatever reason, just didn't think I packed in what I could've.. I also missed my water goal by 32oz. Just wasn't feeling it. I have promised myself that today will be a better day and I'll work it fully.

Saw a new number today. Lost the +.8 and lost another -.4 I dunno that I have ever really lost anything during TOM. Usually I gain a couple pounds and end up chasing that number back down for the following 2 weeks.. this is a nice change! Hope the trend continues.

Thanks girls! It feels really really really good!

Another successful high carb day under my belt. I enjoyed potatoes several times yesterday....sheesh forgot how much I love them...even plain!

I'm down to an even 247...another -.4 gone.. cracks me up how I seem to be losing in ".4" increments.. whatever it is, I don't care as long as it's making my numbers go backwards! I got to finally move another stone over in my goal jar!!

Gina~ I got these colored stones and 2 jars... I put in 50 of them in one(to represent pounds needing losing) and then the other is to "catch" the pounds as they fall off.... I'm a very visual person and this helps to motivate me when I see the stones adding up in the "goal jar"..

Danielle! Your stats are outstanding! You are doing great!

I love the idea of the stones moving to another jar and out.

Yes isn't it amazing how people want to eat your 'prepped' food?

I'm so excited for your trip to LA! You're going to have so much fun!

I do too!!! Right now they're showing re-runs of the last season, just not the same!

Morning everyone!!
Posting early today as we've got a full day of errands with DD getting ready for this breakfast meeting of hers for NHS.. this kid is so funny, I hope she never changes!!

Had major case of the hungries all day. I chased it with some walnuts and then some peanut butter, but never did get quite satisfied. No idea what my tummy was lookin for, but was so thankful it was a LC day so I could have those things! Scale was down some more today, maybe that's why I was so hungry? -.6 today, instead of my usual -.4 Movin on up! Was proud that I did meet my water goal early yesterday...I love when I'm done with the gallon+ by 3pm

Weather right now is glorious! Sitting with the windows open and a wonderful little breeze coming through. It won't stay this way tho',...headed for 90's again today.. Meh.

Thank you, hon! ♥
The book I'm using is the second one. I've never read the first one. I believe in the first one he only had the one cycle (classic) and in the 2nd he has 4 variations. Funnily enough, I am doing the classic. However, I heard the food list in the 2nd book is much bigger. I think it's just to whatever fits, yanno? So far I love love love this plan. Nice to feel like I'm not "dieting", and just eating.

Phew! I'm alil tired this afternoon.. was like a regular 3-ring circus trying to lug all of the breakfast goodies DD needed from costco.. 300-something muffins, drinks, bagels, fruit, etc... Then some more errands..I'm ready for

Only 2.4 lbs left to go to meet my mini challenge.

Cool -- thanks for the info! I checked out the 1st book from the library a few months ago...skipped some of the stuff, but read the basics. I looked at the different cycles on that "Carb Cycling 101" link: I'm leaning towards the Easy or Classic versions. I need something to jump-start my metabolism & get my mind refocused. It's like I do well, and then I self-sabotage again. Lol...smh.

One thing I'm curious about -- how do you gauge servings? I know it has the pictures of thumb tip, palm, fist, etc., but what about things like slices of whole grain bread? Things that make you go, "Hmmmm..."

So glad for your successes so far! That's a great feeling.

Yay! I hope you'll like it if you decide to do it. I'm doing classic and I like it because it fits my lifestyle for the time being. I may switch to turbo if the losses slow down. I hope I don't have to, cause I really enjoy getting carbs every other day

On the food list he gives you servings in 100 cal. increments.. it's supposed to be a quick snapshot of what you can have so it makes for easier planning and counting. 1200 cals on LC days, 1500 cals on HC days.. and a gallon+ of water daily, and 5 meals a day every 3 hrs.. and always always always eat breakfast within 30 min. of waking.

-------------------------------------------

So, yeah, I'm up and going with the sun today because we had to get all of DD's food into the car by 6am to take to school... and now I *have* to eat because I've been up & moving for 30 min already.. Not a good day to have to wake up super early, I did not sleep well. For whatever reason, I could not stay asleep! Go figure, huh? Now today will be filled with yawns and slow going..

But I'll tell ya what, I am soooo happy to have 400 muffins OUT of my house! The smell of chocolate and cinnamon all night long.. ..........

I was even up a pound on the scale... I am figuring it was sodium from yesterday late in the day, and the fact that I did not sleep hardly at all.. Ugh. Chugging that water today and keeping it a clean low carb day today.

Yes 400 muffins. Those really big giant ones from Costco..

I'd been doing ok with the salt/sodium but last night the dressing I had for my salad ended up tasting really salty. figured I would be up on the scale today before I even got on it---no sleep, salt,....yep, always = a gain.

Hoping that's all it is! I feel like I've eaten a ton today and started to get kinda irritated by it all...mentally thinking about that 1 lb gain on the scale and feeling meh about it all..then I checked my food for today and I've barely hit 1200 cals and I'm done eating for the day.. I think it's just the bloat talking!
