Yep, seems like after all these months, the last couple I've been struggling keeping UDs in control for a few days each month. Last month before TOM and this month with. Sigh.

Just irritated with myself and the stupidity of going off track...even a tiny bit. All the work I've been doing with the yeast problem..yeah dummy how ya think that's EVER gonna go away when you're eating cookies and some rice? Yeah, not the brightest move! Or the last few days pecking at non-plan stuff as well.

Nothing will ever change if I can't move forward and be the change that needs to happen.

Today is so far so good. Dinner isn't planned yet, but shouldn't be too difficult.

DD16 is home again today from school... stomach issues.. playing with either gluten intolerance or quite possibly she is suffering from yeast issues also.. that does not make me happy at all but the symptoms match.. Ugg! No idea on the protocol for supplementation but luckily the food part is easy enough.. Now, to get her to do it!

So I did a bit of searching to see what I could find in treating candida overgrowth in teens and children.
Definitely the dietary changes, which should also help with the gluten issues as well.
They seem to recommend CO as well as a good probiotic.
Children's Candida Questionnaire
This looks like a good test to help determine a yeast problem, along with the spit test.

I've found lots of articles about the huge amount of candida problems in children and teens, but not much on how to go about treating it.
I'm not sure that supplements are the way to go with her. Maybe add CO to her diet, along with a good probiotic. Perhaps add DE as well. Those things can't hurt her.
The articles are stressing gentle treatment for kids and teens.
Threelac seems to be the most popular supp for kids and teens, but I know nothing about that particular supp. (After reading more, it seems to be an especially powerful probiotic with some vitamins.)

I really like this site: Candida Treatments for Babies & Children
Easy to understand and good info.

(My sincere apologies to the Mods if these are inappropriate links!)

Janet thank you so much for your help! Yeah we are just going the dietary route right now and see what happens. I did bring up CO to her earlier and she just wrinkled her nose at me She asked if she could just slather it all over herself and call it a day.. Ummm not so much hon not when ya need it in yer gut! Teenagers!! I just spent an hour at the grocery with her trying to find gluten free options for her.. you know how she's trying to find alternatives to waffles and cookies.. Poor kid!!!

The DE thing...lord I thought she was gonna have a coronary when I told her!

Melanie, she's touring all over Canada & the US --Maximize Your Life Tour. She's speaking about how to find the keys to health, success & happiness. I believe the premise is with her new book she has out.

I can't believe I actually get to see her! I hemmed and hawwed over tix because they were kinda spendy... totally forgot I entered that contest a couple weeks ago.. What an awesome surprise!

Got to meet and speak with Bob Harper years ago and now to see Jillian..= Awesomeness!

That's awesome! I would definitely love to go see her talk...I just ordered a DVD of hers that's supposedly for beginners, and it has workouts for "Frontside" and "Backside." I'm kinda scared, but looking forward to it at the same time.

Thanks honey! Interesting stuff related to yeast and the kiddos!!! The diet thing seems to be the best way to help them!
-----------------------

Had a great day food wise yesterday! Scale is up .4 again Remnants of the days prior along with not nearly enough water to speak of.. But! I did much better than I had been, so, for that, I am proud of myself.

Bit of readjustment going on with the fam and food...getting DD16 going on a GF lifestyle is going to be hard. While she will eat similarily to me she is extremely picky especially when it comes to protein..she hates it. Always something, isn't it?

3 days til Jillian. Buying her new book today so I can be *in the know* to hear her speak. Total excitement here! DD16 is going with me, she is beyond thrilled to get to see one of her idols live & in color

Simply fantastic about the Jullian tix, you are so in line for something amazing. I do wish you'd stop whippin' yourself so hard when you make a mistake.

No whipping here. I promise. I just need to keep remembering those goals of mine! They're so important to me and I seem to just rationalize bad choices for no apparent reason at all... It'd be one thing if I could honestly say the stuff I ate was fabulous, and unique..nope, it wasn't. That's why I'm owning it all and reminding myself of those goals and what I truly want. Where do I want to be in Oct? Alot smaller than I am now, feeling fabulous and like a million bucks! I won't get there by eating subpar eats, even the off plan variety.

Jillian has heard me, she knows I'm struggling..that's why I got those tickets....She's figured out a way to be able to kick my a$$ standing on a stage. Comments from people who've seen the program say it's a rollercoaster..funny, informative and very emotional. Yikes!

I have always fought against the idea that I am just one of those people that HAS to think about food, calories, carbs, everything..and probably for the rest of my life.. I have just finally accepted it is what it is and I can either accept it and continue to feel good doing it or I can ignore it and feel sick and remain overweight. Yeah, it still sucks tho!

This is so true for me too. It is not like I eat really awesome food when I go off plan, it is usually totally craptastic food with no nutritional value.

Sounds like the Jillian Michaels seminar is going to really motivate you and get you back in the right mindset. I hope you have a blast!

Frankie I cannot tell you how many times I've stopped in mid-chew on something that I shouldn't have been eating and thought how utterly underwhelming it was.. total waste!

The Jillian thing came on as a total suprise and a very welcomed one, at that! I have heard such great things about it so I'm excited to be inspired!

Ugh! Feeling lousy this morning... TOM came 2 days early and is kicking my butt right at the starting line.

Scale is a mess..obviously up since the monthly monster can't seem to take a hint and just stay lost Bloat city, maaaannnn!

Tea tree oil ointment finally came and it is awesome! Wondering how I EVER got through life without this stuff. Love!

Supps still going and probiotics are wonderful.

Laying low as much as I can today aside from taxi-duty with the kiddos... 1 more day til Jilly!

My mood is less than stellar today.

It's TOM, frustration, confusion, and WTH all rolled into one.

I'm doing my best to hide from the world today.. God help anyone who gets in my way at the grocery today.

I am not going near a scale any time soon. I am holding water like a sponge, i can feel it! TOM is a doozy!!

Today is Jilly! I am ready to be moved and motivated.

Hun I have not been on for some time, but was just reading to get caught up, go and get some Kefir now, it is the best probiotoc, I am so disgusted with myself that I just went and bought some, I get the unflavored but your daughter would probably like the fruit flavored, it is the best gut probiotic, also they say eating fermented foods like sauerkraut helps yeast and stuff, this sounds weird but add a little drained sauerkraut to a green salad it is so good!!!!
So jealous about Jillian, cannot wait to hear about it!!!!!
Trying to get caught up with peeps here!!!
