165.1 this morning
Small gain, pretty sure it's due to water retention. I did not overeat yesterday. It was pretty high sodium, and I exercised for 30 minutes.

Food yesterday: 1394 cals and 27 carbs
B: 3 egg and feta scramble
L: lots of coffee, biltong
D: gouda cheese, fat bomb

I need to sit down and revise my goals and plan of action!
Mini goals for today:
1 cup of salad greens
1 litre of water or more like yesterday
Calories under 1400
Be happy

Just a quick weigh-in: 164.5

Sister is coming over and we're going out for breakfast.

No weigh today.

I feel a bit down. Sigh.
Need to get a grip.
Ate a LOT yesterday. Will weigh tomorrow!

I had hamburger patties, coffee, lots of Sprite zero, cheese, tomato, droewors, espatada, chicken, boerewors... Wow. Oh, and chocolate mousse.
Worked up courage to discuss my eating issues with DBF last night, and he kind of blew it off. No big deal. It is to me...

I will not let the little things and the daily stress get to me!
Here's to happy and healthy!

Steady at 164.5
Feeling recharged and ready again today.

Yesterday's food was 1362 cals and 23 carbs.
B: Frittata with cream, porcini mushroom stem and emmental cheese.
L: Magic peanut butter cookies from the recipe room
D: Porcini mushroom cap "pizza", stuffed with tomato, oregano, choriso and cheese.
S: coffee, fat bomb

Since I'm losing at a slower rate now, I think I'll revise my goal for March to 4lbs. I think a 1lb loss a week is still totally doable and perhaps much more realistic I can always review it again as I go along.

I am thankful for how far I've come!

Yesterday's food: 1228 cals and 36 carbs
B: egg and chorizo scramble with cream
L: avocado and tomato salad with iceberg and french dressing
D: cumin and oregano eggs
Coffee, some water (but not enough)

I am doing this!

I've lost 5.8 lbs this month.

Yesterday's food was 1451 cals and 28 carbs:
B: baked egg cups
L: egg salad with chorizo
D: two peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake cups. Yum!

I'll move my 158 lbs goal to the end of March.
That's the weight where my BMI will move from the overweight category to "normal".

It's Thursday so I'm cooking for my grandparents tonight. I try to make things that they like... Tonight we'll have mutton pie with carrots and potatoes - I'll try to pick them out. Skipping the pie crust will be easy at least Wheat and I are not on speaking terms.

Thanks Reta!
Glad you stopped by

Unfortunately I have been stuffing my face the entire weekend.
I can't seem to stop eating.
Will weigh tomorrow morning and then rally on.

Shot up to 163.8 after the weekend foodfest.
It's not too much damage and I'll be back to 162 soon.

My parents are coming to visit tonight, and they want to go to a restaurant to celebrate my new position at work. I'm not overinduling for the same reason twice - that already happened this weekend - so I'll keep a strict eye on portion control tonight.

I should eat as much as I NEED, not as much as I "want".

It's going to be a busy Monday!
Blessed and happy

I have been reading through your journal and have gotten some great motivation.

Have you been working out?

Hi Reta
Reading other people's journals was wat got me going in the first place!
Yes, I do try to work out. I aim for some moderate (about 30 mins) cardio on my stationary bike about three times a week. Notice how I said "AIM". I also have access to a great swimming pool but I've been pathetic about getting up early enough to go swimming. Lazyyyyyy.

Going down.

Yesterday's food was a bit weird.
B: coffee, celery, swiss cheese
L: salami, cherry tomato, sugar snap peas, strawberries
D: liver in caul fat (sounds worse than it is)
I stayed around 1200 cals and 30 carbs.

I've been getting leg and foot cramps recently, so this afternoon I'll go shopping for a mineral supplement with tons of magnesium and potassium.

I'm retaining water like a sponge (insert Sponge-Bob joke here).
Just the natural rythm of things.

Last night I did some closet shopping, and I was pleasantly surprised at how many things fit. I have my eye on one particular little black shift dress, but at this moment it's one of those items where "just because it zips, doesn't mean it fits".

I'm not concerned about my slower losses, but here are some crucial things where I have been slacking:
Water, as always
Green leafy things
Weight & strength training
Dry brushing

One day at a time

Jinny- You are doing wonderful with your weight loss, keep it up. Reading through your journal reminds me that we all slip sometimes its just being able to pick your self back up and start going for your goal again! I just started LCing again after gaining back 75lbs that I lost from my first round of it but I know I did it once and I can do it again!!! I kept telling my self you have to stay on track no matter what no slips, although right now I need to follow that to get my body back in the rhythm I know that later on in my journey I will slip and I WILL get back on track!! Thanks for the inspiration

Makin' progress!

Hi Reta Welcome Lize636, glad to see you ladies.
I'm the queen of weekend self-sabotage, so getting back in the saddle and re-aiming for goal is an ongoing part of the process for me.
You can't "blow it" or "cheat" if you don't see it as a diet. This is just the way I eat now, there won't really be a finish line.

Yesterday's food was good besides the protein shake I had for lunch. I prefer whole fresh foods all the way.

162.5 post-weekend.

Thanks Lize and Reta
Hope you ladies had a good weekend.

What a hectic Monday at work...
I've been pushed in the proverbial deep end. Just keep swimming...
Didn't even track calories or carbs.
B: 2 scrambled eggs with a pat of butter, coffee
L: mexican ground beef with peppers and cherry tomatoes
D: 2 burger patties, dill pickles, brie
Had lots and lots of coffee today.
Conspicuously absent are my good friends "water" and "leafy greens".
It's not you - it's me. I promise I'll make it up to you... Haha.

Work stress won't bring me down.
(The only thing going down is my weight)

I had a good weekend thanks!

And remember there is always tomorrow for the water and greens. You did well for a stressful day some people would have binged out on carbs so give yourself a pat on the back for staying on track!

Thanks for the words of encouragement Lize. I love your avi, it's such a cute photo.

So... Today is yesterday's tomorrow - or something like that
Have to start solving the problems at work, will take it easy on myself, will guzzle some water as I chug along. That's about the extent of my planning for today.

Hi Rebecca Thank you!

Still hectic at work. Woke up tired this morning.
Had cafeteria food for lunch yesterday - an omelet with ground beef - and I'm sure there was a ton of sugar in the meat. Bleh.
Dinner involved liver. No fava beans or chianti though. My tired little joke Haha

I would love to reach goal for March... No longer overweight.
Almost there.

Whoop!

Thank you so much Rebecca and Lize Having support along the way is awesome.

Hello 150's!!
Sometimes after hitting a new decade, I bounce back up a bit. I am prepared for if this happens... But revelling in this new low for the moment!

I was reading through some posts in the Main Lobby last night, and something struck me as funny. The different way that each of us perceive specific "decades" of weight... Some of us have GOAL weight set at the same number others list as their starting weight - and they bemoan how incredibly fat they were Others of the same hight and age would try anything to lose enough weight just to be that "fat".
Everybody's different.

Eating dinner with the grandparents tonight... Never sure what's on the menu if Gran is cooking. She's served, corn on the cob, potatoes, beetroot, rice, carrots, fruit salad... All things sugary and starchy. Wish me luck.

Your success helps keep me motivated and gives me pointers along the way!! Keep it up!!!

I agree with you we all look at ourselves differently at different weights.... I think it also has to do with where you carry your weight.... I carry mine mostly in my lower stomach, hips, butt, and thighs...... when I was 155lbs before people told me I was too skinny, I was in a size 10 jeans but small/med tops..... I felt great that size but I am sure many people also thought that's too big....crazy!!

159.8 Steady.

Thanks ladies

Have you seen the "thinspo" that pops up everywhere?
"I must not eat!", "Do it for the thigh gap", or my personal favourite: "Eating isn't very Chanel". Whahahaha
Love yourself a little, geez. Be kind to yourself. Eat green leaves, sure, but eat lots of fat and yummy things too. Living off water and lettuce must be... interesting. I'm so very glad I've chosen bacon over starvation.

Gran made sauerkraut, German sausage and salad last night.
There was potato in the kraut... But I ATE it!
Life goes on, regardless of whether I ate one unplanned tablespoon of potato.

Looking forward to the CANSA Relay for Life walk tomorrow!
