170.9

It's a quiet Tuesday morning and all is well. I'm sipping on some coffee with cream, mulling over my purging reaction to the fruit salad last night. That behaviour is unhealthy. Live and learn.

Yesterday's food was an estimated 1480 cals and 50 carbs.
B: coffee with cream, scrambled eggs
L: HB egg salad with baby greens, dill pickles, feta cheese and mayo
D: burger patty with cheddar cheese, salad greens and tomato
S: macadamia nuts, fruit salad

Mentally, today will be a better day.

171.5 this morning.
I am okay with that.

Food was good yesterday, 1129 cals and 15 carbs.
I had coffee with cream, scrambled eggs, dill pickles, burger patties, cheese, cucumber and salad greens. A few more coffees and a sweeto cream soda.

I wonder if the artificial sweetener in the cream soda is a good thing.
Not worried about the jump in the scale at the moment.
That's life, ups and downs. I've been losing quite well and somewhere along the line there will be little fluctuations.
As long as the trend is downwards

Hi Gardengirl! I'm glad you stopped by.
We all have our ups and downs... I'm going to check out your journal in a minute.

Weekends are still my achilles heel. I loosen the reigns a bit too much.
Food hasn't been all that bad.
Friday: burger patty, macadamia nuts, fried egg, Nando's quarter chicken with spinach.
Saturday: Wimpy cheesegriller breakfast without the toast, cheese fruit and ham plate for lunch, meatballs

Controlling what I eat is much more challenging when I'm not at home. Saturday is a good example. Breakfast wasn't too carby, but much more calorific than I'd normally fix for myself. I don't even have fruit in my house - lunch definitely had a lot more carbs than usual. Supper was okay because I could skip the pasta, but meatballs can be sneaky little carb bombs.
After all said and done, I still enjoyed my weekend - including the meals.
I'll deal with the numbers again when I'm back home.

It's a lovely rainy Sunday morning and I'm snuggling with my little mutt on the couch I can ask for nothing more

Good morning! It's Monday. Yay...
Didn't weight this morning after getting back from DBF.
I know I overate again this weekend. That's all right. Today will be a slight correction day - more bacon and eggs! Will try to guzzle lots of water.

I'm on call at work this week, hopefully things won't get too crazy at the office.
I'm confident that I can handle anything this week throws at me

Yesterday's food was okay, just too much. Breakfast at Wimpy again, bacon and eggs without the toast. Lunch was cold meats and cheese. Dinner was burgers and tomato. Somehow I managed to also eat a chicken thigh in between and I had several coffees.
I could estimate the calories at about 1600 for the day. Even though my calorie tracking app says that I can lose weight eating 1700 cals a day, in reality this does not seem to be the case for me. I lose pretty consistently at 1200, and I normally feel satisfied with thath number of cals daily.

Looking forward to a new week with new losses.

Guess what? It's confession time! Pull up a chair...

I just finished my dinner... And just came to my senses.
I ate too much, as in waaaayyyyyyy too much.

Had a craving for liver and shoveled away an obscene amount.
I can't even bring myself to confess the exact quantity I ate
Okay... I fried up about 14oz with the full intention to make more than one meal out of it.
I. Ate. The. Whole. Thing.
Whahaha, don't judge me!

What the heck happened to "eat until 80% full".
I backslid to "eat until stuffed".
I can't quite put my finger on why I binged. Did I "need" something in the liver, like iron? Did I eat too little throughout the day? Was is a mental thing? Some kind of self-sabotage?

So here's my plan:
1. Don't sweat it, what's done is done.
2. Water, water, water
3. Find a bracelet or ring or something in my jewellery box, wear it every day to be a special reminder to stop eating when I feel satisfied but not full.

I will weigh tomorrow, and a gain won't faze me.
I will succeed This is not a race. I will get there, and in the end, know myself better - body and mind.

Not sure what I'm going to eat today.
Yesterday's food was 1405 cals and about 38 carbs.
Who knew liver has so many carbs? 15g for the liver alone.
B: bacon and egg cups
L: bacon and egg cups
D: liver and onions

Time for coffee!

Going in the right direction again.

Yesterday's munchies amounted to 1280 cals and 28 carbs.
(I've always counted total carbs, before any subtractions.)
B: coffee with cream, macadamia nuts
L: grilled chicken with cucumber and tomato salad
D: pan-fried almond crumb coated chicken thigh with roasted brussel sprouts.

I still drink too much coffee and not enough water. What a bad habit.
Did 20 minutes on my exercise bike last night.

I did not overeat yesterday. Tastes like victory.
If I can do this one day at a time...

This is my first taste of the 160's

Last night I had a dream where I was working as a check-out girl at the supermarket, and while I was bagging groceries I was eating rice krispie treats by the handful.

Yesterday's food was 1342 cals and 15 carbs.
B: bacon and eggs, coffee with cream
L: ummm... Lindt 85% chocolate...
D: grilled chicken thigh with mussels and a dill pickle

Dinner sounds really weird now that I'm writing it out!

Did not weigh this morning. By the time I got back home, I'd already had coffee at DBF's.

Yesterday's food was okay. Thursdays I visit my grandparents and we have dinner together. This week Gran wanted to cook.
B: coffee with cream, bacon
L: olives, dill pickle, bacon
D: bockwurst with curried green beans (pre-packaged, very sweet, must have had sugar)
S: burger patty, 1 sq Lindt 85%
Added up to 31.35 carbs and 1045 cals.

All in all not too bad, but a bit high in the sugar department, and perhaps a little low in the calorie department.

Thanks GardenGirl

I don't think I'm in the 160's anymore after this weekend! We had a huge family get-together. I think I may have gained 5 lbs.
I'll assess what's what on Monday morning.
Looking forward to a new week.

Monday morning 169.9 thanks to clean eating yesterday.

Things to remember from this weekend:
Alcohol makes me gain every single time.
Too much cheese won't do me any favours.
Try tracking estimated food intake even at family gatherings.

S: biltong, Lindt 85% chocolate

Not sure what I'm having today. Poor planning!

168.4

I started January at 180 lbs and set myself the lofty goal of reaching 165 by the end of the month.
That would have been aiming to lose 15 lbs, hehehe.
Today is 30 January and I have lost 11.6 lbs this month. I'm stoked.

I know that the rate of loss inevitably slows as we creep closer to goal, but I'm going to set my eye on 158lbs by the end of February.
My goals are something to work towards. They are not set in stone. I am not defined by whether I reach that specific number, but rather by the effort and work that I put in to get as close to it as possible.

Yesterday's food added up to about 1205 cals and 29.33 carbs.
(I seem to be slowly raising my carbs from 20 to 30 total. Creeeeping.)
B: coffee, one teeny tiny gluten free chocolate chip cookie with 3 carbs. It was hilarious.
L: BBQ chicken fillet salad with mixed greens, cherry tomato, radishes and peri-peri sauce
D: pork belly ribs, yummm

Horrible tummy ache and upset stomach.
I feel awful.
Hidden wheat somewhere?!? Where??
It might have been in the sausage I had today.

Thanks GardenGirl.
Wasn't quite back to normal yet today, but I'm better.
Gluten makes me suffer.

This morning's weight was 168.2

Yesterday's food:
B: egg with pork rasher
L: boerewors sausage (gluten bomb?! )
D: mustard and cheese egg bake

Lunch sausage wasn't the brand I normally use.
Definitely won't have it again.

It's only 20:20 and I'm so ready to go to bed...
Glad it's Friday tomorrow.

Happy Friday Everyone.

I got out of bed some time during the night, and started some chicken and celery soup in my slow cooker. I'm normal like that.
This morning when I woke up, I had soup for breakfast!
Whenever I feel a bit sick, I get this craving for chicken soup.

I'm also wearing size 12 jeans for the first time in ages today.

Yesterday's munchies clocked in at 1098 cals and 34 carbs... I think.
B: coffee, sausage
L: lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad (conference served lasagna and bread rolls with that)
S: more sausage
D: slow cooked beef curry with coconut flakes and tomato salad

Numbers were a bit hard to estimate but I still try to log everything.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love Sunday mornings!

Spending some time with DBF and son, so I may weigh again on Tuesday.
Yesterday I did some batch freezer cooking for them. Some weeknights after MMA practice they only get home after 20:30. Heating a home-cooked meal is better than the alternatives. I cooked six different meals for them, and packed 20 portions for them to freeze. Not sure how long that wil last!

I wasn't very disciplined on Friday. I had chicken and celery soup for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner I polished off a 300g rump steak with veggies and a greek side salad.

Saturday's food included a breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 bacon and a tomato, 2 Wimpy coffees; lunch was biltong (and tastes of my batch meals as they were cooking); dinner was zucchini and tomato with feta cheese.

Done enough cooking this weekend, so will ask DBF to braai something for us tonight!

The weekend's damage really wasn't too bad - considering I accidentally got a coffee with chocolate syrup and sugar with whipped cream on Sunday!! It was supposed to be plain espresso with unsweetened cream. I didn't want to make a fuss and send it back (yeah...) So I drank it. And it didn't kill me!

Yesterday's munchies: 1025 cals and 13 carbs
B: 2 scrambled eggs and coffee
L: coffee, coffee, coffee
S: 1 square Lindt 85% chocolate, swiss cheese
D: chicken soup

Yesterday was a bit low cal for my liking, I should have had some lunch... But my appetite is a bit subdued. We'll see how today goes.

D: cheese griller sausage with gouda

166.9 today.
Slowly but surely
One day at a time.

Yesterday's food added up to 1214 cals and 18 carbs.
B and L: slow cooked lamb shank with brussel sprouts
D: cheese griller

I also made fat bombs with CO and PB and I'm not sure how people resist licking the bowl clean...

I have two weddings coming up. One in March and one in May.
Very motivated to look my best! Especially since I'm a bridesmaid in my little sister's wedding in May. Yikes.

Made dinner for my grandparents last night as usual. Very basic this time! I browned some minced beef and onion, served over vetkoek for them (and a bed of baby lettuce for me). Gran made fruit salad and I had a few bites of that. Priveledged to be able to spend time together every week.

Yesterdays food: 1143 cals and 30 carbs
B: scrambled eggs and cheese
S: Lindt 85% chocolate, fat bombs
D: minced beef and lettuce, fruit salad

It's DBFs dad's birthday party this weekend. Looking forward to it - but wish me luck!

Had a lovely weekend with DBF's family for his dad's 80th birthday. We went to restaurants for all our meals, which was a little tricky and rather expensive. The worst I had was a gin and tonic, and I ate the fruit that was in my salads (peach and mango). All in all I'm pretty happy with my eating, and expecting a pretty small gain tomorrow morning when I weigh.

166.9

I'm not on track for February's goal at all, but I'm happy and relaxed.
This week will also be challenging. I'm flying tomorrow afternoon to attend a conference and will only be coming home on Friday. Two and a half days of hotel food and conference catering. I'll just take one step at a time.

Yesterday's food: 1226 cals and 20 carbs, all good:
B: cheese griller
L: minced beef and zucchini
S: cream cheese wegde
D: improvised bobotie recipe, turned out quite yummy

Back home after conference week.
I did go off plan - I had half a portion of creme brulee.
Happy and not stressed about it.
Ready to fall right back into routine.
Happy Saturday to all.

Today is the last day of conference in my home town.
I have a work interview scheduled for tomorrow morning. After that - back to routine. Phew. It's been a very busy few days.

I am very blessed. The scale will move in the right direction again shortly.

166.2 today.

Conference and roadshow days are over (for now)!
Don't have any appetite this morning, I forced myself to have some sausage for breakfast because I'm interviewing at 9am and I need to be at the top of my game. Loss of appetite is probably nerve-related! Wish me luck

Yesterday's food was a bit of a mess throughout the busy workday.
Essentially I had coffee, a chicken caesar salad with bacon, and fat bombs. That doesn't seem like nearly enough. I wasn't hungry though.

Hoping to see some fresh new losses in this last week of February.

Today's weight is 164.7

Very busy at work! It will probably only get busier.

Yesterday's food (I didn't track. Oi.)
Sausage, coffee, droewors, half a McD quarter pounder with cheese w/o bun, gouda cheese, fat bomb, sweeto grape drink
Lacking in the green veggie department!!
Also not enough water.

I better shape up!
