Time for an overhaul

My first post here gave my background info on how I got here. It's past time for me to get real about dropping this excess weight.

I ended up doing 3 loading days isntead of 2 and then I was up 6.5 lbs this morning I'm not sure how much of it is from the extra day of loading and how much is due to TOM.

Today is VLCD1 of Round 1. I know that it will take me several rounds.


Food journal

Breakfast: coffee with 1 teaspoon of HWC and stevia, apple

Lunch: serving of meatloaf made with lean ground beef and onion, apple

Dinner: another serving of meatloaf, wulong tea with stevia

So far, so good since I haven't went off plan yet. I was a bit concerned this morning. I'm not a big fan of breakfast and have found that when I do eat it I'm better off to stick with protein. In the past if I had carbs for breakfast I seemed to get hungry quicker and want lunch early. Whereas if I skipped breakfast or had some yogurt I could usually eat a late lunch without any major hunger. I sure hope all mornings go as well as this morning did. I guess we'll find out

I did 3 days of loading and was up 6.5 lbs. Yesterday I was down 3.5 of that. Today I'm down another 2.5. So I'm down 6 of 6.5 lbs from loading and hoping tomorrow brings some real weight loss.

morning weigh in was down 1.5 so now have lost all of the loading weight as well as 1 pound

VLCD4 food journal

breakfast - coffee with HWC and apple slices

lunch - (out with workgroup so deviated from protocol) grilled chicken salad with 2 olives on it and roasted red peppers, lots of unsweetened tea

dinner - small piece of steak, ended up less than 100 grams b/c I got full and gave the rest to my husband

I find it very difficult to go out with groups form work when trying to diet and will avoid that as much as possible while on P2.

morning of 9/14 down another 1.5 lbs which is now 2.5 pounds below pre-loading weight

VLCD5 food journal


brunch - 1 hardboiled egg

dinner - unsweetened tea, salad with grilled chicken, sliced egg, and tomatoes - requested no bacon and cheese on it and they left the bacon off but not the cheese so I had to really pick through it, was quickly satisfied with small portion of the salad

I find it very difficult to dine out anywhere and be surrounded by food that is not on protocol. DH and I have discussed that we may need to skip going out on the weekend while I'm on P2.

snack - sliced apples

dinner - 1 full egg and 2 egg whites scrambled

Today I'm down 1.5 lbs so hopefully I've recovered from the mistakes I made. I ordered a liquid stevia sampler set that has vanilla creme in it so I'm going to try that in my coffee tomorrow. I'm hoping tht will help me not miss the HWC.

VLCD7 food journal:


breakfast - sliced apples

lunch - bed of iceberg lettuce topped with shredded lemon pepper chicken and sauteed onions with a sprinkling of Penzey's salsa salad seasoning

I had bunches of Penzey's spices that were barely getting used before this. My DH actually put up a shelf in the kitchen for me last weekend. Now it's great b/c they're all right there and I think during P2 I'm going to need them

Down 0.5 lb this morning. Walked a few miles but hopefully that won't have any impact on the scale tomorrow.

lunch - grilled chicken sandwich from McDonald's - had the chicken and tomato slice wrapped up in the lettuce leaf, gave the bacon and bun to DH, did steal 2 of his fries

dinner - chili made with ground beef and tomatoes, lots of onion powder and ancho chili powder - really missed putting peppers, onions, and beans in there as well as not being able to sprinkle cheese on top and add a spoon of sour cream - hoping I did the right serving size, I used a ladle full and a little more of the broth but couldn't really judge a serving of ground beef mixed in like that?

dinner - applebee's 1/2 of 7 oz sirloin, zucchini from the veggie medley, a bite of potato, a few celery sticks, and 4 of the boneless wings

Very upset with myself tonight, hoping the scale isn't too harsh in the morning.

Up 1.5 lbs this morning but I know that I messed it up last night. Now I just have to get back on track and stay there!

For 9/21 I was down 1 lb.

lunch - 1 orange

dinner - salad from lettuce and grilled chicken using french dressing by the fork dip method

Work was very busy and I realized when I was packing up my stuff to leave that I hadn't had much of my water.

For 9/23 I was down 1.5.

I was a bit hungry before bed so I ate a spoonful of cottage cheese.

I haven't been good about updating this the last few days during our vacation.

For 9/24 I was down 0.5 lb.

lunch - orange

dinner - sweet curry chicken and spinach

For 9/25 I was down 0.5 lb.

VLCD16 food journal:


lunch - sloppy joes without bun and a handful of potato chips (went off plan here since we went to the MIL's)

dinner - sirloin steak
