Sixty Days

I thought I had been making some progress but realized I'd been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for a month.

I'm at 35 pounds lost, and I am ready to make a break-through.

I also work retail, and starting Veteran's Day it is going to get pretty crazy for me.

With that in mind, I'm starting a sixty day challenge. In the next 60 days, before the crunch starts, I want to focus on getting a few pounds off and get into an exercise habit.

And maybe keep track of it, too.

Tonight I went for a 30 minute walk. Fall arrived and it was so nice.

Breakfast: 2 slices bacon, 2 eggs cooked in grease. 2 cups of coffee with hwc.
Snack: venti breve latte with SF caramel
Lunch: 6 slices hard salami, 3 oz cream cheese.
Dinner: egg cream (2 eggs, 2 oz cream, 2 tbs coconut oil, 1 tsp cocoa, 1 glug of davinci sf vanilla)

Moderately hungry at the end of the day. Very tired.
Exercise: none, but worked from 8-9:30 (a.m. to p.m.) and stood for probably 6 hours or more of that. Ah, retail.

My husband drove kiddo to school, and I started with a half hour walk, pretty brisk. Very sweaty.

Same food as day before, minus the venti latte.

Worked until 9:45 tonight. I wasn't really hungry, but felt like I would be, so I had the egg cream. I love the egg creams and mine tonight was exceptionally good. Last night I tried adding coconut oil and that didn't work. Duh. Now it's just 2 eggs, 2 ounces cream, a spoonful of cocoa powder, a glug of vanilla davinci. Blend, add ice, blend some more.

I am very happy with this pace of loss. I know it won't last, but itfeeler good to see the numbers move.

Went for a 20 minute walk tonight. Would have been longer but my son needed to go to the bathroom and so we had to come home. Oh well. Also, I want to run, but my shins do not. I can feel the shin splints starting. I will continue to walk until I'm under 220. Then I will try the C25K again. Every 20 pounds off will make it easier.

Food today: coffee with hwc, salami and cream cheese for breakfast. Handful of macadamia nuts. More salami and an egg cream for dinner.

I am not at all hungry, which makes me feel ketosis is doing well. I was freezing in bed last night and that's usually a sign, too.

This is basically a modified fat fast. I plan to go from this to a long term nutritional ketosis eating plan, but I am still learning my way around that plan.

I think I was 238 even this morning, but I can't remember. That was so long ago - and I've driven to Atlanta and back, and taught a class, and just had a crazy day.

M
No exercise, just driving.

Food: coffee with hwc and co, coffee with hwc, stopped at Starbucks for the venti breve latte with sf caramel. My favorite.

Lunch. This is terrible. I was in Ikea. They had nothing. I bought a hunk of farmers cheese and gnawed at it. Ate it in the car while I drove, breaking off parts. Probably 5 ounces total. The before class I had an egg cream. Because they are my life.

I'm hungry right now, so I'm going to eat a few macadamia nuts and some co before collapsing. I am exhausted.

My scale dropped a craaaaazy number this morning... 235.6. I don't believe it for a second, but it felt great.

This afternoon it was back up to 237 so that's probably more accurate.

35 minute walk today. Lots of coffee with cream, and a pizza for dinner - the crust is 2 cups shredded mozzarella and 2 eggs plus seasoning, 1/4 cup sauce and another 2 cups shredded mozzarella. I ate half and I'm still stuffed.

No egg cream - still stuffed.

I did have a decaf chai with hwc and co and sf vanilla Torani for dessert.

Wondering what the scale will show in the morning.

Yesterday's number repeated today. That number makes me happy - 40 pounds lost total.

I was so tired this morning that I couldn't get out of bed for a walk.

Food: lots of coffee, an egg cream for lunch and the leftover pizza for dinner. And about 30 macadamia nuts. I like them way too much. Must resist for the rest of the night.

Sunday morning sleep late oh how I love it.

Scale stayed the same -235.6. I don't expect the same tomorrow. I walked for 45 minutes today, and I'm starting to do the nutritional ketosis plan. 60 g protein, 150 g fat, no more than 30 g carbs per day. I feel like I just ate so much today. I hit those numbers except just 15 carbs. But nearly 1600 calories which feels like a lot. Last week was a modified fat fast so I wonder how this week will be.

Today I'm just feeling bloated and fat. drinking more water before bed so hopefully that will go away.

But, 7 pounds in a week. Very happy. After spending 3 months in the 240s, I like being half-way through the 230s in a week.

Not going to lie - very disappointed this morning. Scale 236. Yes, just up .4 but I feel like the nk diet might it be right for me. How long do I let it go before I go back?

Of course, the fat loss has triggered a period-like few days. Could be related to that. I've been feeling bloated.

Walked for 30 minutes this morning. We are supposed to get rain overnight and all day tomorrow so we will see. I feel like my thighs are looking better.

I want to start doing more exercise but I'm not motivated. I pin things so that's a start. I have the love/hate with walking. I hate it one block after I leave the house and want to turn back. I love it until I get to my halfway point, at which time I hate it and it's the worst idea I've ever had. Then I love it again until I get about three blocks from the house and I hate it again. I am nuts, I know.

Food today was similar to yesterday, and I'm tracking it on an iPad app. That helps.

150 fat
16 carbs
64 protein
1640 calories

Maybe more fat since I had more coffee than usual.

Down .2. So that's better.

I didn't exercise today since I was up all night with insomnia. But I worked and had a high-stress day. Moved a bunch.

Today it was hard to get my numbers right.

P 67
F 168
C 11
Cal 1800

My percentages are good but those numbers feel so high. How warped am I from years of calorie counting and fat gram counting and every bite that goes in my mouth counting?

Getting the numbers right was tough, even though my percentages are wherein want them to be. To boost my protein I added a scoop of protein powder to an egg cream of 2 eggs and 2 ounces hwc. Then I was at my protein numbers but short by 40 g for fat. I ended up takin 2 tbs of co straight to get my numbers.

Actually maybe my numbers aren't right. I'm not sure about this. Math is hard yo. I need to study this more. I'm afraid I only had 67% from fat. That's not good. I need help.

The good: down another .2

The bad: I've been starving all day. I realize that the nk approach is not for me. Going back to an extended fat-fast. But today I've been starving.

Lots of coffee this morning. Hwc and co. Lunch was salami and cream cheese. And then tonight - tonight was bad. My son was having ravioli and I ate one. I have no idea why. But it was a trigger. To try to get the same flavor, I melted some mozzarella on parchment and put a tbs of low carb pizza sauce on it. That's a good sub. But still was starving - ate some cream cheese and now have a cup of caffeine free chai tea with hwc and co.

I feel fat and bloated.

Not a good day, and I know tomorrow the scale will show that.

Boo.

I had a .2 change in the scale today, but for the life of me I can't remember if it went up or down.

I was fine with it either way. I ate a bunch yesterday and was surprised I hadn't gone up at least a pound.

Today I haven't been hungry (until now). Lots of coffee and an omelette and some cream cheese. I did not eat any pasta at dinner at work, but imdidmdip some lettuce in the blue cheese dressing.

No real exercise but worked until 9:30 and on my feet the entire time. The entiiiiiiire time.

I think I need to start taking supplements. I see magnesium mentioned a bunch. I wish I could say okay, need a checklist what should I take and go from there.

Also, still spotting. Does this mean good fat loss and estrogen release? I hope so. But it can stop now, thanks.

Going to bed. Now ready to collapse. Maybe a few macadamias before bed won't hurt too much...

I forgot to post yesterday but was just too tired.

This morning I was at 234.4.

I wonder if I can lose 4.4 before next Saturday?

Next week work won't be so crazy. I should be able to exercise every day. I'm really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

I'm at 234 even, so slowly heading in the right direction. I'm not eating as cleanly as I want to be. I'm feeling like a two-day break might be what I need jump-start.

233.8

So hard to not be impatient. I want to see it all gone gone gone. On 9/9 I was at 240. Can I get below 230. Before the end of September? Do I need to be extremely satisfied with 10 pounds a month and see if I can get below 200 before New Year's? Or be damn happy if I get to 215 by thanksgiving and maintain through the holidays.

I want to be under 230 by next weekend. I want to be under 220 by halloween. I want to be under 210 by thanksgiving and 200 by new years. That will be 75 pounds lost in 2012.

Yesterday I ate some things that go against what I'm trying to do in this 60 days. For lunch I had a bunless double cheeseburger from Jack's and then five pieces of sugar-free candy. No stomach distress, however, at least not yesterday.

I haven't been exercising. I have to get back on that. Today I'm walking for 30 minutes and doing hoe downs. There is no excuse for not doing hoe downs. My legs look better when I do, so that's going to happen. If I do them every day for 30 days I will see a huge difference.

I walked 30 minutes this morning and did hoe downs. Worked 12 hours, mostly on my feet. Ate bacon and coffee with hwc and co. No food all day, home from work weight - 234. I drink a ton of water all day. Ate 10 macadamia nuts, 3 thin slices of salami and 2 ounces of mozzarella. Hate o eat so much before bed, but I got home at 9:30 so not a lot of choice. Going to finish this water and go collapse.

Never walked. Back is hurting.

Ate too much today. Too much cheese, and a few grapes. Made the pb fudge, but I don't think I love it. Still ate some, so obviously I'm an idiot. I just know I'll be up, so that's a bummer.

Coffe during the day, pizza for dinner. Tried a new twist on the mozzarella and egg crust - added 2 ounces cream cheese. And used a mix of cheddar and mozzarella. I think I like it better.

Of course I expect to be up again, or at best even.

Tomorrow night is football. Let's see how this goes.

Nice thing about this diet - you can always start fresh again.

Scales are the enemy

Our weight fluctuates so frequently day to day, week to week, month to month...it would be torture for me weighing myself even every couple of days!!

You have done soo well tho with ur loss

I work away from home for eight days at a time so can only weight myself onece in that period which is probably a good thing. I have read your daily menu with interest (and ithers) and I have realised I need to get my proteins down and fats up.

Look forward to following your progress

Thanks for the encouragement.

I am normally not a daily weigher but I want to pay attention to what I'm doing for this 60 days. I ate on plan but a lot Saturday and was up and it's frustrating. Trying to see hat it takes for me to lose.

I've started an intense exercise routine and it may kill me. I won't step on the scales for a few sprays because I know I'll retain water. I'll weigh on saturday. By then I should be flushing some out.

I was starving tonight and ate two entire cucumbers dipped in blue cheese dressing. I am going to take a handful of Advil and go to sleep. Workout at 6 am. Yikes!

Went back to pure barre. Much less feeling of imminent death.

Having an egg cream for breakfast. I bought pumpkin and may add it to my egg cream. We will see.

Barre class still kicks my ass, and I'm the only person in there over a size 6. Not very encouraging, I must say. But I can already tell a difference in my thighs. My stomach is more toned but it actually makes my flab look worse. We will see after 30 days.

I'm not losing weight, however and that is so discouraging. I stepped on the scale this morning and it was like "wah wah wah" for a game show loser.

I jus sat down and my thighs are screaming. Scream. Ing.

Craving chicken wings so right now I'm making the heroin wings. I have to teach tonight so I'm pushing it on time But I really want wings and broccoli. This morning I left barre and picked up sausage and scrambled eggs from jacks. Random protein and fat cravings buti am drinking less coffee.

234.2. So very frustrated. Skipped barre this morning because I was so tired, but going at 4:15. Going tomorrow morning and then taking the weekend off. I think I will fat fast Friday-Sunday and see if I can get these 4.2 pounds off, or at least some of them. I want this gone!

Did barre again and I'm getting better. Still hard, but I'm only as sore as I was last week - at the end of the week. Not likes was at the beginning.

I'm hungry and keep snacking on dairy. It's not good for me I know but I keep grabbing cheese or sugar free whipping cream. Cream cheese. Am I craving calcium?

Going back to barre in the morning.

Strange back pain so I skipped barre. Feeling better now so going in the morning.

Coffee and an omelet for dinner. Eggs and sausage for breakfast. I had forgotten I'd eaten that.

I really want something sweet. I want to abstain. I want to be stronger than my desire fora bowl of creamy sugar free heavy whipping cream that only has one carb. I really just want a bite.
