This week is kicking my ass, but I'm close to being back to where I want to be. It's so stupid to go off-plan, since it takes five times as long to un-do the damage. My TOM, stress from my dad and stress from my life - I just said eff it. Stupid, and not worth it, and Im paying the price.

I worked from 5:30 this morning to 7 tonight. Stood up for all but about 20 minutes of that. My legs are so sore.

Induction flu, to top it all off. But I earned it, so let me go make some broth.

Stress is the worst. I get stressed and want potatoes. Or chocolate. Or both.

Stress is the one thing that just kills me. And my life is generally pretty stressful. I'm convinced that is why I gained so much weight to begin with, and have such a hard time losing. I keep thinking it will get less stressful around these parts, but no-go.

I'm holding steady at 209, but yesterday was my anniversary and we ate a big dinner - steak and I tried "loaded" broccoli. Putting butter and sour cream and cheddar on broccoli does make it more like a baked potato, but I'm okay with just eating broccoli.

Another potentially busy week this week. We have camp with 8 kids and I will be on the wheel with them a bunch this week. Rain is in the forecast each day, so that can mean busy. I'm sorry for the parts of the country getting all the heat. For once it isn't us suffering - although we still have August to go.

207.8

Yesterday kicked my butt, and then I was up until 2 talking to a friend online. I will regret this. But I don't. 25 years disappear instantly when we chat.

Today will be another potentially busy day, as the weather is terrible and we have lots of business on yucky weather days. That's a good thing. But I don't think I will stay up until 2. All praise coffee, that's for sure.

206.6

I think 206 is back to my low, but I need to go check. Yesterday I was so damn tired - I should not stay up until 2 talking to friends. That's a bad idea. I mean, I loved it at the time, but I paid for it. Of course, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

206 is new low. I'd gotten to 207. This is new territory for me.

Another potential crazy day today. Lets see how we do!

Still hanging at 206.6.

I have one more high-stress day today, but I'm taking tomorrow off and then working all weekend. Next week will be semi- stressful, but nothing like the last two weeks.

Slowly, slowly... But hopefully tomorrow ill be in the 205.something and I will do a small victory dance. It won't be pretty, but I will do it!

Last night was family fun night at the JCC. Pizza and ice cream landmines everywhere you look. In preparation, I returned to egg creams! For dinner last night I had a three egg toasted marshmallow and it is just awesome.

No victory dance today. Still at 206.0. Hopefully tomorrow.

I'm working all day today - that keeps me from being tempted by the fridge. Yesterday I kept pulling cheese off the tops of pizza. Oh, and the figs are coming in now so we kept pulling figs right off the tree and eating them. That probably didn't really help me yesterday, but they are so good I can't resist. And it only lasts a few weeks and they will be gone again.

Okay now I think the scale is trolling me. 206.0 again.

I wanted to be at 206 by today, so I guess I should be pleased, because I am. Now I want to be at 203 by next Sunday.

I was going to get up this morning and do wii yoga, but I just couldn't drag my butt out of bed. Maybe tomorrow. I'm working today, which means I will stand up from 12-5. That is a pretty good workout, frankly. I walk back and forth about a billion times (it feels like).

206.0. I'm going to be under this, soon.

So today I went off the rails a bit with cheese. I love cheese, and today... Well, breakfast was a OMM and then for lunch we had pizza and I pulled the cheese off of three slices. For dinner we were supposed to have hamburgers and broccoli, but my husband wasn't hungry so I made the "jalape˝o fudge" from the recipe thread. That is a terrible name for what is essentially an egg/cheddar/green chiles bake. But it is ridiculously delicious. And I could have eaten a quarter of the pan and been safe... But I had a bit more than that.

So, I'm guessing tomorrow morning I will be 206.6.

Yeah that was too much cheese. Today we will correct that, hopefully. I was up to 207 and that's not good.

I also woke up with swimmers ear, and I'm in so much pain. Advil isn't touching it, either. Terrible.

Of course I'm still at 206.0. What other number could it be?

So yesterday I had eggs and bacon for breakfast, about four cups of coffee over the morning. Maybe five. Probably five. Then I took Henry to the pool at 4 and he wanted French fries (because we saw a friend who had some) and I got a scoop of egg salad. Then for dinner I had way too much broccoli with sour cream on it. That is just ridiculously yummy.

I honestly expected to be up, with the double-helping of broccoli I had.

So I guess I will be happy with 206.

Woo hoo! I was more than a little concerned I'd bounce back up. I'm glad I didn't. Gotta stay vigilant. Today is going to be a challenge because we are having pizza for dinner, but I will buy something else for me.

Woo hoo!

I could eat a never-ending amount of salt and vinegar flavored almonds. They need to be gone from my life immediately.

Daaaaaaaaang. I am just stunned. I'm obviously in a deep state of ketosis and so not hungry. If I really analyze it, I'm pretty sure I'm essentially doing a fat fast. Plus fresh from the tree figs. Who knows? Not sure how much longer I can expect these kinds of results, but I'm pretty amazed.

Today is a usual work day for me, but tomorrow we are going to the lake to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Smoked chicken and white barbecue sauce yum yum!

There must have been a change in how I look lately - you know how sometimes your weight loss just really shows in your face? That must have happened for me, because I've had more than a few people comment about how I look. I did get a haircut, but this has been with my hair in a ponytail, so I don't think that is it.

School starts in two weeks. I need to see how much I've lost since the end of last school year.

Okay, so this is petty. I know it. But I asked my husband to get me some broccoli for dinner and he bought frozen. He sees me cutting up fresh veggies and never making frozen. And I'm mad. I'm over-reacting I know, but I've worked all day, stood up from 10-6, and now I don't get what I was looking forward to.

Alright. That's all I'm going to complain about that. It's just food and no reason to pout.

Wah wah wah. Up a bit but I ate a bunless burger and two servings of "loaded broccoli" last night which is more food than I've been eating. Also, I should expect some bounce since I've been losing so quickly. I just want to manage the bounce.

Last night, I got into a bit of a pity-party with myself. While I am thrilled with the progress I've made, truly, I'm still so far from goal. And I began the summer at 211. I thought I'd made good progress, but not really. I mean, yes, any progress is good progress, but it just feels soooooo sloooooooooow. And now I'm just getting to where "normal" people begin and start their journey. I get worried that I don't have the perseverance to see it through. I think that I do, but... so far to go.

Two days ago I ordered new clothes. I guessed and ordered 16s. Two skirts and three tops. My size 16 jeans from old navy are falling off me, but the size 14s create quite the muffin top.

I ate a hot dog yesterday and puffed up like whoa. I didn't weigh this morning to give me time to shed the water bloat. I also ate some cole slaw (no sugar added) and a big green salad. But I'm pretty sure it was that hot dog that bloated me.

Today will be a long day. Hopefully going to get maximum work done. No kiddo until tomorrow, so taking advantage.

Julia, I just read your journal from the beginning and find you witty, honest, and inspiring. If you don't mind, I will be following you on your journey.

I stress the word journey because that's what it is. There are twists and turns on the scenic route (don't we wish it was a straight line from A to B?) and I can relate to your frustration with the slow progress, BUT you have done an incredible job of changing your entire lifestyle and shedding a substantial amount of excess body weight.

And for the record, people who can quickly lose in a straight line from A to B are rarely able to maintain. If there is one silver lining to losing slow and steady, it is that we will be in a better position to maintain for life!

Trish, thank you so much for the kind words! I am, honestly, so aware of what a journey I am a part of. I have lost and gained so many times, but this time it feels like it is right and real. I have to also be honest with myself when I feel like it is taking forever. But I promise the pity parties are few and far between.

The more of us together in this journey, the better! I swear, I'm sure I'd have given up long ago were it not for these forums.

As for today: I worked, but not as hard as I should have. I did get some NYC plans made for next week. I had some smoked pork without sauce for dinner, along with a salad. I could eat the entire smoked butt. It is so good. I'm out of white sauce, though, so I need more.
