Hi and thank you Christine, the dill sauce would have been good.

I am having a wonderful weekend, yesterday was good, topped off with Dirty Dancing being on tv, now how can one not have a good day smiling though that.... I guess the movie Fatal Attraction would have been a perfect follow up...

It's amazing how far I've come with safely being alone and not planning a binge. Why did I do that, giving myself permission to crash. I'm thankful for the journey I'm on.

Also, I'm still not watching food porn, the food network. Keeping myself safe with tv and Dr. Atkins book. Reading cookbooks is also a problem at times.

Dinner is ready for when dh gets home, a pork butt roast in the crockpot, coleslaw made and a test tomato jam cooking.

My menu yesterday was..

2 boiled eggs, pat butter
coffee w T hwc
3 oz steamed chicken breast, sour cream, pork rinds
l.5 oz macadamia nuts
baked catfish filet, pat butter, coleslaw

Everyone stay safe and happy on program!

I love Dirty Dancing (and Fatal Attraction!)! Sounds like you are in really good headspace right now, and that's 90% of the battle, as far as I'm concerned. Keep up the great work! You are on a roll! (Well, maybe a lettuce leaf! Rolls have too much junk in them!)

Good morning and thank you so much Christine! I hope to have the good progress you're having. I don't deviate far from what's working, just thankful I am at peace with food.

I had a good day yesterday, really proud of myself not planning a binge while alone. The tomato jam was good...1 quart canned tomatoes a friend gave me, 1/2 c pickled banana pepper slices, 2 T bacon grease, t acvinegar..simmered low and long until it began to brown in the pan. I kept it savory but a sweetener and spices would be good in it. I think it would be worth buying romas to make it fresh. I stressed making it afraid it might cause a hunger attack but it didn't. Sometimes it just takes a tomato, is that not crazy....

My menu was...

2 boiled eggs, pat butter
coffee w T hwc
3 oz catfish filet, 1 oz cream cheese, tomato jam
2 oz cream cheese, tomato jam
3 oz pork roast, 1 oz cream cheese, coleslaw, jello
l.5 oz macadamia nuts

I am trying out online food trackers to see which one I like best, Do you guys have a favorite, I see I will need to figure my net carbs whichever.

I hope you guys have a great day!

Hi Scalestepper! Loved reading about your experience at the beauty shop and seeing the CHANGES in your face!!! Congrats on an awesome binge free weekend by yourself enjoying gal pal time and girly movies!!!!

I keep forgetting pork rinds to! The salmon patties sound delish, and also the tomato jam!

Your thread ALWAYS makes me smile. Thank you!

Sometimes it does just take a tomato; you're absolutely right! Good for you for monitoring closely. I'm glad it worked out for you!

My favorite food tracker is one I'm not allowed to mention here because my post will get flagged. All I can say is that it's MINE and that it helps with my fitness like a real pal would!

So if you do a search and come up with something that sounds similar to the words in that sentence, you'll probably know what I mean. If not, PM me.

You can see the net carbs on that one, as well as your ratios (fat, protein, carbs), which is what I like. I'm trying to stay at 70-80% fat.

Hope you have a great day!

Mornin' Scalestepper! I too will be interested in what tracker you decide to go with since mine will not be able to go with me whenever I have to move off of Windows XP.

Christine - I'm wondering if the one you are talking about has good and easy ways to input new foods (i.e. from the information on a nutrition label) and also recipes. That is where most of the ones I've looked at seem to fall down in comparison to my beloved Life Form!!

Hi and good morning DG and Christine!

Christine, thanks for the info, googled and found it and plan on exploring that one this afternoon.

DG. I hope you enjoy the recipes, I think you have the tomatoes for the jam. It is awesome with cream cheese.

My routine is still messed up, I don't have any kiddos at home and have gotten so spoiled to me time but dh is still changing his routine. I have learned to keep something cooked no matter what his schedule.

I tried out Live Strong and Spark PPL, I get the breakdowns and they are fairly easy to use but their recipe builders are pita. I also don't like being on a mainly carby suggestive site. I'd rather just get in, log and get out. I did google recipe builders and 3 fat chicks has two listed which work pretty easily if you want the nutrient breakdown. They are the closest to the ease of the WW one I've found but I have yet to try a friend.

What I learned is I'm not eating as many calories as I thought so that was a good thing, I knew my carbs were really low. I was also glad to learn that my nut portion isn't as high in calories as a omm. One ..calorie..site said my goal weight should be 113, eating 1200 cal a day, an estimated goal date was 7/14 I will never weigh 113 again and don't care to.

My 0 carb bread came in, it took 3 weeks I don't care for it, it has no taste and is like thin cardboard, dh said it was just okay, like what would we expect. He misses bread more than me. I prob won't reorder unless he wants it.

My menu yesterday was..

3 bacon, boiled egg, pat butter
coffee w T hwc
chili, coleslaw, cheese
3 oz pork roast, coleslaw, cheese
l.5 oz macadamia nuts

Near bedtime, I had cravings for peanut butter which used to be ...,a go to bed with me... snack, but I resisted since it was so late and I'm thankful. I so want this, I want to lose this weight, I am really trying to do this.

I have some memorable moments in my previous weight losses...the last 2 times, there was always someone who said in my presence...she'll gain it back...and I did, I wasn't expecting those remarks. This time I will remember I did gain it back and this time I pray I don't.

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Thank you so much DG.... You guys are giving me such wonderful support, like our own little meetings in our journals.

It does, I have done 1 test recipe, the servings size isn't confusing..The food database seems to be onsite, not separate from food search site.. Everything works fast and great, no flip flops between pages, everything tabbed, no pictures of food porn. I appears we can add in a new food with all the nutirtions like you wanted. I am so pleased. Be sure and go to settings for fiber to show. You can also add in lots of others things also.

Well then. I might just have to meet your new fit friend and see if we get along. I know what you mean about food porn. That's one of the reasons I struggled trying to fit LC and WW together. WAY too much carbacious food porn LOL!

I like the "quick add calories" feature. That would come in handy when guestmating something or other I think. I've not noticed that feature in the others I've looked at.

Me too, it's like WW online.

I was getting frustrated when I added food in today because it only showed up in the meal it was eaten and then I finally saw when you click ...add food..you have the option to add it just to that meal or add it to all meals...now everything is grouped as favorites together for faster entries. I really like that. Now if the pie percentage shows up when we finalize the day, all things are covered I think.

About that big breakfast you and Jeanie are considering, theres a discussion on that in the lobby, interesting.

Glad to hear you found a fitness friend that will assist! Were you able to see the percentages? Now that I think about it, I never access that site on the computer, only via the app on my Ipad or phone. I'm going to go look right now......

Ok, I don't see the pie chart; just the summary.

Hi to all and thanks for the help and support!

We slept late this morning as dh is home today. Our breakfast which we ate at noon was so good.

It was kind of strange seeing how many fat grams I had eaten after logging my food, my protein was lower than I would have thought and I'm happy with my carbs.

One odd thing that's happened, it has been suggested on other woe that we use 8 in. plates which was always hard for me. With this woe I use them because that's what fits, my meals are smaller not only by choice but by my degree of hunger.

If you guys have Schwan's available, get some of their frozen asparagus, it is awesome.

My menu yesterday was...

4 Schwans sausage links
coffee w T hwc
12 asparagus pan roasted in oo, 4 oz pan seared blue hake fish,oo/T butter. 2 T dill sauce
coffee w T hwc
l.5 oz macadamia nuts
12 asparagus,oo, 2 oz cheese melted with T hwc

1,570 calories
23 carbs
147 fat
46 protein
7 fiber

Dill sauce;
1 T sour cream
1 T mayo
few drops lemon juice
garlic/onion powder
dill
little horseradish
seasoned salt

Housework today, I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! It's a really nice day here and I am thankful, food is still in it's place. I read that somewhere and thought it was inspiring.

Nothing eventful here, routine is back to normal which is nice.

I made the most awesome sauce last night, it's posted on a sauce thread in the lobby.

Jalepeno popper sauce.

Simplified...

2 T bacon fat (I might use butter sometime)
2 t diced jalepeno, I by Mt Olive I think
1 tsp chicken bullion, 3/4 c water
4 oz cream cheese
3/4 c grated cheddar cheese, I used Kraft triple cheddar
3 pieces bacon, cut into pieces

Cook bacon, set aside, put the other ingredients in the pan, heat, add back in the bacon pieces. I served this over boiled shrimp with cherry tomatoes. 3 servings

My menu was

2 scrambled eggs, 3 bacon, T butter
coffee w hwc
4 oz chil, 1 oz cream cheese, 1 oz cheese, 2 T salsa
macadamia nuts
boiled shrimp, jalepeno popper sauce
1/4 Eas bar for sweetness

I hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning, great day here! I am still happy on program and have a busy day.

I weighed this morning and I've lost 1.2 pounds, It's coming off slowly but I am positive. What else could I be doing except gaining.

Yesterday menu was

boiled eggs, butter
coffee hwc
chili, coleslaw
cheese, pie

I have a recipe called Miracle Crust pie where you blend up eggs, milk, butter, flour and pour into a pie plate and bake, it makes it's own crust. I tried that with low carb substitues, used almond flour also. I was okay, the crust didn't happen, ended up kind of like an almond egg custard, dh loved it. I prob won't make it again.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Popper sauce sounds delicious! Is it wrong that I want to drink it? Congrats on your loss! Slow and steady!

Interesting crust experiment! Maybe fewer eggs next time? Have a great weekend!

It is absolutely that good Christine! I really think it's needs the eggs to set up but the almond flour isn't going to make a crust. I will be experimenting adding some coconut in it next time I think. Thanks for the support!

Good morning dear diary and friends!

I cannot whine about anything this morning. Things are great for me, no hunger/unusual appetite, food is good.

Every week gets easier in different ways and I can again feel changes this week, feeling smaller and more pep in my step. It was easier for me to do my chores out and about yesterday and for that I am thankful. Thank you Lord.

Two friends at the grocery store, so great to talk with them, ladies I have worked with at the lawyer's office and district clerk's office. Really special friends.

One was making a new recipe for church, Poppy Seed Chicken, It was worth the google to find it. Don't you just love google!!! Added a new food item this week, Jane's crazy salt and I like it. I also got some Brats I've never tried. I should start a list of new things I'm using since beginning this woe. Thank you low carbers for your posts and ideas.

There's a great site to log an entire recipe or food item in to get the nutrtion count, it's about calories.....calculator.

My menu yesterday was...

Sadler's Hickory-Smoked Pork Loin, 2 oz,1 egg, onions/peppers, oo, Butter - 1 pat
hwc 1 tablespoon Coffee
Hickory-Smoked Pork Loin, 4 oz.coleslaw
Macadamia Nuts
Earl Campbell's Hot Link, coleslaw Cream Cheese
Magic Crust Pie,
Sour Cream, few pork rinds

Dh is wanting me to make another mock magic pie. I'm glad the weather is cooler, I will be using my oven more.

I hope everyone has an awesome day and weekend!!!

It's not that great but it's sweet and it's in a pie plate. We ate it with our eyes.

Thanks DG, I really think I'm understanding the program and I am satisified. I may fall on my face tonight but I'm understanding I have to go by the book and set boundaries.

Hi to all,

Another great day, peace, satisfied.

Dh and I didn't sleep good last night, up and down, then slept late. We go through that from time to time, we're coming out of a long downward spiral, we are trying to find our way back to some kind of happy. No day is without sadness but time goes on. Our daughter's bd is tomorrow.

My menu yesterday was
eggs, bacon, butter
coffee w hwc
mexican chicken, ind serving pkg guacamole
baked catfish, coleslaw
black cherry jello

I make a dish called Mexican chicken that is so good so I made a solo version of it for just me yesterday with no tortillas. Dh doesn't like chicken so it's a waste to make a large serving.
....chicken breast, cheese, cream of chicken soup, onions, rotel tomatoes baked , tortillas
So, I took 3 oz chicken breast, a pinch onion/garlic powders,1 oz cream cheese, 1 oz cheese, 2 T cream of chicken soup, microwaved it and ate it with 2 T Herdez salsa.

The cream soup has 22 T per can and there are 20 net carbs for it's 1 carb a T and worth every carb so I used the real deal except I didn't mix it into the casserole dish, after I had it built in my bowl, I spread the 2 T on top then topped with cheese and it was enough to satisfied since I tasted it the first bite. I also didn't add onions, it blows my mind the carbs in them but that salsa has enough to satisfy salsa and onion for me. It was good and remotely tasted like the real deal. I froze the rest of the soup for later.

I'm a crazy cook lol..easy makes me happy. I'm still learning how to deal with this woe, every day there's something new. Last night about 12, I got hungry. I got my shipment of j Robb protein powder so I think, I'll make me a protein shake with almond milk. I stopped myself, thinking, this is not hunger, it's anxiety. I can't satisfy every little whim I feel with food, it was late, a glass of almond milk was enough, and it was. That did sound good though.

I have found my new cranberry sauce, that black cherry jello will work just fine for me and it's sf.

Ok guys, everyone hang in and be safe and sweet! See you tomorrow!

Good morning to all and thank you so much DG,

I agree we can no longer entertain ourselves with food. I wonder just why did I think I could bend all the rules of mindful eating and still expect to stay slim and why and when did staying well and slim lose it's importance with me. Why did I stop caring.... I got so terribly lost. I can't go back but I hope to change the future. I know I just can no longer feast on white carbs. DG you have done so good, I hope to attain what you have. I know we can do this.

It's good to be here, thank you Lord, good to share, good to log my day and postitive to be able to say all is good. I need to journal my food, it helps me stay on program.

I have two days menus to report,
Sunday...
2 eggs, 3 bacon
coffee w hwc
baked chicken breast, popper sauce
macadamia nuts
backed chicken breast, popper sauce
c almond milk

Yesterday,
almond pancakes, butter, T sf syrup
sausage links
popper sauce, pork skins
macadamia nuts
2 oz baked chicken, popper suace
1/2 scoop protein powder, c almond milk

The almond pancakes were a treat for dh and it didn't take much to satisfy. a big thank you to all the low carbers who have created these low carb recipes. I'm glad the sf syrup has carbs, it created a balance for me on not over consuming. I did see that possibly adding maple flavoring and sweetner to butter might be better spread on a pancake rather than using syrup.

I made a place for the new protein powder in my meal yesterday, it was good and a 1/2 scoop was plenty at the time. Definitely something to keep in my woe.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Hi Stepper!

You bring up such a good question - how did we lose sight of things??? For me I think part of it was my brain getting SO carb clouded the second I let them slip back in that I wasn't even thinking clearly. Junkie thinking took over - all those little lies rolling through my head. All it takes is believing just one (i.e. "I'll just start over tomorrow") and I was off to the races and things just got worse and worse. I hope I can keep my wits about me this time!

Not sure if it has been the same for you, but that's sort of how I see it.

What is popper sauce??? Recipe please? (or did I miss that one up stream???)

Have a good day!

DG
