It's official, I have a shopping problem
I remember going from a 22 to a 12/14 was shocking in terms of the availability of cute clothes. But shopping for a size 8 is a whole different ball game. I don't feel like I'm trying to hide anything anymore and I actually like shopping (this is a new feeling for me). The giant downtown Goodwill had its annual "Glitter Sale" this weekend and I am now decked out for the holidays with one dazzlingly glamorous dress (size s ) and half a dozen sparkly tops some of which still had tags attached. I have a much nicer wardrobe now than I ever had before. My one dilemma is about my old clothes. I have been slowly packing them away but not getting rid of them. I've been up and down the size ladder before and I really don't want to replace my size 12/14 wardrobe next year if I gain this weight back . I know that clothes don't last forever packed away and some of these are pretty nice. We also don't have tons of space to store this stuff. Originally I thought I'd keep them for a year and then give them away if I hadn't gained any weight. But I am starting to sort out the things that I don't think I'll want even if I gain weight to go to donate.

Okay, three month check-in! This morning I was 148.8 on the scale and my ketones have averaged 1.11.
I also got my BF tested in the dunk tank this morning and I am 23.5%BF down from 26.3 in the beginning of September. My current plan is 2,000 to 2,300 calories a day, 70-90g of protein, and less than 25g of carbs--everything else is fat. I pretty much eat to satiety with the limit on protein and carbs. I'm excited that I've been able to lose fat and gain muscle while maintaining my weight. I was concerned that the ketosis and lower levels of protein might interfere with this process, but I am very happy with the results. My goal is still 20% BF and I have a feeling these last few BF% points will not be easy to shed. |

Okay, since I last checked in I decided that I wanted to lose down to 145 which would take care of my BF goal all by itself. This morning I was 145.8
. I've gone back to my losing routine and I guess it still works! I'm a little in shock right now and I hope that I can hold on to this loss. My 50th birthday is in 3 weeks and I usually have a free meal on my birthday. My mom is flying in to town, my oldest son will be home from the Czech Republic, and my DH has lots of fun stuff planned. I haven't decided how I'm going to handle the whole thing |

I haven't posted here in a while
I need to get a handle on this hunger and get my weight back down to 145. I'm pretty sure that it's related to leptin and my body trying desperately to gain weight and feel comfortable again. |
