Thanks, Julie!

Something I just posted in the Dr. Emma thread, but I think it really needs to be here:

A couple of positive things I wanted to post.

1. The other day I saw a leather jacket I liked. The salesgirl told me it was selling like crazy, and I had to try it on. Then she looks at me and goes "I'm gonna say size Small." It's the little things that make one happy. I ended up buying it, by the way. That makes maybe my tenth jacket since losing weight. I just never bought jackets before because A) I was never cold (now I'm always cold, or having a hot flash, or both back to back) and B) I hated how I looked in 14's, L's or XL's. I wasn't buying "investment" pieces. Now I'm way over-invested. And I think 5 of them are leather.

2. My feet are smaller. I was a solid 8, 8.5 if it ran narrow (before kids I was a 7/7.5). Now I'm a 7.5/8 and nothing really feels that narrow anymore. This JUST happened in the last 5 lbs.

3. I feel air between the tops my thighs, if you know what I mean, when I'm in my undies. What a weird feeling.

4. If it weren't for the new and horrifying jiggly skin at the top of my inner thighs, and the place where my butt meets my back legs, and the now-starting-sag-a-bit neck... I would go for 120-something.

5. I've never been in 6's before (or 27's and 28's in really skinny jeans), but now I am all the time (especially if it's the lower half). And if they're "mom jeans" brands, which I don't seem to want anymore, I'm in 4's! I know, I know, vanity sizing and all that. But still. I just bought a dress for a wedding. They said it ran small. It's an 8P.

Okay, done with posi-rant. I needed to distract myself from this slow loss week.

This is the way to look at things!! So exciting and rewarding!! Woohoo!! Love it!!

I was shopping at Old Navy yesterday, and tried on shorts. Although the 8's fit, and were a bit big even (gotta' be vanity sizing!!) I hate my legs still . I live in AZ and it's 100deg + for more than half the year here. I'd really like to be confident in shorts at some point in my life. I already have saggy thighs and cellulite, but am tempted to go back for another P2 and hope to lose more saddle bag and thigh. I'm afraid I'd lose more up top, as the girls are lighter now that ever and don't want to lose any more face or neck-you know that drawn look? yuck! I don't know if P2 would help me lose where I wanted to. Maybe exercise? I haven't had any success w. that in the past, but may consider it. I am beginning to think, barring surgery, I will never be happy w.my body. working toward content, but happy? May never happen for me.

Yes, Old Navy (and its sister stores BR and GAP) are one of the guiltiest when it comes to vanity sizing! I feel like going in there just to see what "they" have me at now. Since I was a 12 there when I was at least a 14 in designer brands, perhaps a 4? Haha.

Yes, I hate my saggy skin, but I really have to say... I'm happier than I ever thought I could be with my body. I know more weight loss will only make more saggy skin (you can't lose skin from dieting), so it's a trade off. Yes, I plan to have my tummy fixed, but my upper arms and upper thighs... stuck with them. And proud of them, too, in a way. Because they represent my pregnancies and my weight loss. I wouldn't trade either! Does it help to think of it that way? My body has been through a lot, and it's gotten me through a lot. Time for self love, I say!

And I will never wear shorts. Light weight capri's, yes. Shorts, no. Not many women look good in shorts, and I don't find them that comfortable anyway. So there's that. Then again, I don't live in AZ. But there are always loose cotton dresses!

And YES, to the drawn look. I've written in the Dr. Emma thread that this why I am considering myself at goal now (or in 1 lb), when I would've gone for the 120's if I were in my 20's, 30's, or even early 40's. But not now. Your face or your ass, as Catherine Deneuve famously said. You can't have both.

Pre-load weight: was 147, but day before loading was 148 and change.
03/30 VLCD1 149.9
03/31 VLCD2 148.1 (-1.8)
04/01 VLCD3 147.8 (-.3)
04/02 VLCD4 147.5 (-.2) I think.

04/04 VLCD6 145.5 (-1.0)
04/05 VLCD7 144.7 (-0.8)
04/06 VLCD8 145.0 (+0.3)

Total loss for week 1: Approx 5 lbs including load weight, approx 3 lbs not including loading (WAY lower than rounds one and two)

04/07 VLCD9 144.6 I THINK (-0.4)
04/08 VLCD10 143.5 (-1.1)
04/09 VLCD11 STS
04/10 VLCD12 143.4 (-.1)
04/11 VLCD13 142.9 (-.5) 175iu begins
04/12 VLCD14 142.6 (-.3)
04/13 VLCD15 142 (-.6)

Total losses for week 2: 3 lbs.

04/14 VLCD16 ?
04/15 VLCD17 140.8 (-1.2)
04/16 VLCD18 141.2 (+.4)
04/17 VLCD19 141.? missed my chance to get an official weight again.
04/18 VLCD20 140.2 (-.8)
4/19 VLCD21 139.9 (-.3)
4/20 VLCD22 139.0 (-.9)

Total losses for week 3: 3lbs

4/22 VLCD24 137.4 (-.9)
4/23 VLCD25 138.0 (+.6)
4/24 VLCD26 137.7 (-.3)
4/25 VLCD27 137.6 (-.1)
4/26 VLCD28 137.2 (-.4)
4/27 VLCD29 137.5 (+.3) 200iu begins

Week 4 total: 1.5lbs. WHAT?! I have choice words that are not internet polite. Too bad this next day is not part of Week 4. That would've helped:

4/28 VLCD30 136.7 (-.9)
4/29 VLCD31 136.9 (+.2)
4/30 VLCD32 136.2 (-.7)
4/31 VLCD33 136.8 (+.6)

And that's my LIW. Why oh why o why does my last injection day have to be an "up" day. Same thing happened at least once before. Grrrr.

But hopefully I'll be down tomorrow. Don't know why I even still believe, but I do.

So my first non-injection day, the scale goes back down to 136.3. It's funny that Dr. Simeons didn't want THAT to be the bottom of the window, since our bodies don't know the morning we wake up and weigh that we're not injecting that day! I mean my body has as much HCG in it as it did yesterday morning, and it has no idea I'm not injecting this morning.

My guess is he KNEW we'd bounce back up a bit once out of VLCD's and wanted to be realistic.

Meanwhile, I am...

finally...

declaring GOAL. As long as I stay within 2-3 lbs of where I am today, I'm good.

Wow. Goal. And a lower one than I ever imagined 15 months ago when I started this.

I'm speechless. It's weird, anti-climactic. But happy.

I will post all my stats later today, together in one place.

10/12- VLCD42 152.9 -0.4
10/13- VLCD43 152.7 -0.2

45 injections. LDW is 152.7

Body fat percentage (using hand held monitor) at beginning of HCG @ 169.5% - 40% (67.8 lbs of fat)
Body fat percentage today @ 152.7 lbs - 34% (52 lbs of fat)

Total lbs lost: 16.8 lbs in 45 days
Total lbs of fat lost: 15.8 lbs.

Weekly totals:

Week one (includes 3.3 loading): -9.8 (NOT INCLUDING LOAD 6.5)
Week two: -2.3
Week three: -2.3
Week four: -1.9
Week five: -1.9
Week six: -1.9

Stabilized: Around 155

Round 2:

pre-load weight - 155ish (didn't have my scale)
12/17 - VLCD1 155.9 (gained .9 from load)
12/18 - VLCD2 154 (lost 1.9 total, -1 lb from pre-load)
12/19 - VLCD3 152.5 -1.5 (down 2.5 from pre-load)
12/20 - VLCD4 151.9 -.6 (down 3.1 lb from pre-load)
12/21 - VLCD5 152.5 +.5
12/22 - VLCD6 151.1 -1.4 (better!)
12/23 - VLCD7 150.6 -.5 (down 5.3 from pre-load)

12/27 - VLCD11 149.1 -.8 (down about 5.9 from pre-load)
12/28 - VLCD12 148.5 -.6 (-6.5 from pre-load, but I think pre-load was more like 155.5!)
12/29 - VLCD13 147.5 -1.0
12/30 - VLCD14 148 +.5
12/31 - VLCD15 146.6 -1.4

1/11 - VLCD26 142.2 -.1.1
1/12 - VLCD27 143 +.8
1/13 - VLCD28 142.8 -.2 (LAST INJECTION)
Rounded my LDW to 143. Simplifed to average of the last few days.

Weekly totals:

Week one -4.1 lbs (not including LOAD weight, which was only about .9)
Week two -4.3!
Week three -1.1 (TOM)
Week four -2.5

Total pounds lost in R2: 12
According to my rough calculations, 9 lbs of that was FAT.

Stabilized: Around 147

Round 3: Note: I did a lower-range calorie version of the Sonia Russell 800 calorie protocol this round. Most times, I stayed between 525-650 calories. Given that I was closer to goal, I do not think it hurt me at all. I also had less hair loss.

Pre-load weight: was 147, but day before loading was 148 and change.
03/30 VLCD1 149.9
03/31 VLCD2 148.1 (-1.8)

04/13 VLCD15 142 (-.6)
04/14 VLCD16 ?
04/15 VLCD17 140.8 (-1.2)
04/16 VLCD18 141.2 (+.4)
04/17 VLCD19 141.? missed my chance to get an official weight again.

4/20 VLCD22 139.0 (-.9)

4/30 VLCD32 136.2 (-.7)
4/31 VLCD33 136.8 (+.6)
5/01 VLCD34 136.3 (-.5)

Weekly totals:

Week one: approx 3 lbs not including load weight, which was about 2 lbs
Week two: 3 lbs.
Week three: 3lbs
Week four: 1.5lbs.
Last 5 days (partial week 5): 1.2 lbs

Total pounds loss R3, NOT including loading: 11.7 lbs
According to rough calculations (I didn’t get my body fat reading at the beginning of this round), about 7 lbs of this was fat. (My least percentage of fat lost in any round – must be getting to the very last of it!)

Total losses on rxHCG: about 33 lbs.
Total pounds of fat lost on rxHCG: about 29 lbs.

(Total losses since Feb. 12: About 53 lbs.)

Yes, it took me three friggin’ rounds to lose 33 lbs. So happy I’m done. NOT gaining it back.

New topic.

Since I've gotten to this weight, my butt is always killing me after sitting. It hurts to sit on any type of hard surface. Or even a not-so-hard one. At first I thought I must have bruised myself and it would go away, but it isn't going away. My butt HURTS.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

I do have a flat butt - my butt "issue" was always the tops of my thighs, not the actual butt. But now my butt is non-existent. I can feel the bone. So I guess the chair can feel it too. And even sitting on a sofa cushion watching TV... or a movie theater seat... is literally a pain in the butt.

Anyone?

Congrats on reaching goal Buttah! Exciting!

I know this pain you speak of on the badonkadonk.
I hate to admit this but at our age, it is probably only going to get worse. I asked my MD about it the last time I was in, because I also suffer pain on my tailbone plus the area of upper thighs where my backside hits the chair. I hate to eat out at restaurants or sit on hard surfaces. I can't sit for any amount of time and be comfortable! At first, I was certain that mine could be related to an accident on the ski slopes about 20 years ago when I slipped on ice and hit my tailbone quite hard. Doc said that the problem would have surfaced before now, if that were the case. No, losing fat in the derriere is more than likely the issue.

Unless I build up extra muscle in this area, although, I am not so certain that this will help, I am going to be standing quite a bit while working. I have purchased a coccyx cushion for my office chair, but this only helps when there. I also work from my home and take many breaks. Quite frustrating.

I hope you find relief.

The day is finally about here. I'm having my tummy tuck and breast lift/reduction in five days. Nervous and excited. The finishing touch on all my hard work. Will try to come back and update. Wish me luck!

Wow, Buttah--you must be SO excited! It will be challenging, I'm sure, but ultimately so satisfying and rewarding!

(P.S. I have the butt thing, too--and I have a big butt with plenty of fat! But the pain isn't where my fat is. As you said, it's more where the tops of my thighs meet my butt. I have bought cushions for my car and my desk chair. And if I watch TV, I will recline on the couch to avoid putting the pressure on my backside. I'm sorta thinking it's my body's way of telling me "you sit too much!!!")

Thanks, Verbqueen and pandora!! The TT surgery is over, and I'm on the mend. So glad I did it. Still swelling, but it's amazing having a flat tummy, without that extra skin to tuck into my pants. Speaking of pants, due to swelling I can't get any of my post weight-loss skinny jeans on yet That's the only bummer. I have this wonderful new wardrobe since losing the weight and I can't wear it. So leggings and tunics for a while.

As for boob lift/slight reduction, SO GLAD I did it at the same time. The doc took off about 4 pounds total skin (and some tummy fat that went with it), and I'm down that and a bit more on the scale, even with swelling.

Also very happy to know there are studies that abdominoplasty can lead to further weight loss (google it) for a variety of reasons (getting full faster due to muscle tightening as metabolic changes with less stomach fat). I'll be happy if it just helps me keep maintaining.

Verbqueen, you and I just seem to frequent LCF at different times. Wish it weren't so!

Pandora, you're my maintenance superstar. I have found that my easily maintainable spot is just a few pounds higher than I'd like, but at my age, my face looks better there/here (around 140-142). And being very long-torsoed, I don't look like I weigh what I do. So I'll take it!!!
