I did alright! Got through the day with just the popcorn, and I ended up eating a piece of some taco bake I made on Sunday--kept the day under 500, so I'm happy! Today's UD is hopefully going to end at a Brazilian steakhouse.....(trying to save all my calories for that!)

Well, we didn't go to the steakhouse, but I had a great burger and fries! And the scale cooperated this morning....it gives me the confidence to say I'm going to ROCK today's DD! Got some coffee and tea in me already, miso soup for lunch, and maybe a salad for dinner.

Ok, I'm moving into this weekend with the motivation to get some intense workouts in--I'm tired of feeling tired, and back when I had the "habit" of working out every day I had so much energy. Gotta get back into that habit big-time!
Last night's UD went well, didn't go overboard....and I'm ready for a perfect DD today! Let's get this party started! |

I hope you're right, Monica--I'm so tired of the whole 3-pound-bouncy-bouncy thing! Just have to find a way to turn that bounce into a downward trend! I'm knocking my UP day calories down a bit and we'll see how that works the next couple weeks.

Let me know how that goes! I have stuck with basically the same up day and down day calories since I start. I will watch you and see how the changes go!

Well, yesterday was a perfect DD for me--under 500 calories and stopped eating ANYTHING after noon! It was tough. Got up at 4am this morning and had toast with butter and jam to start my day!

Hi Monica!
It's going ok....had a little mishap with my DD yesterday due to traveling for work. But it's ok....I'm just going to chug along, and get some extra exercise in tonight. Going out for fish fry, so I'm going to try to fill up on salad bar, and NOT eat everything on my plate, which I normally do! |

I've got good news and bad news.....
Good news: I started a couch25k program on Sunday and I'm enjoying it! There's a 5 week jogging program, then a 5 week running program to follow, so I'm hoping to get through it all without giving up. 10 weeks.....that's not so bad, is it? Bad news: I gained 2 pounds. I *thought* I was doing ok the past few days, but I guess I need to do better. Sigh. I'm considering going to a straight 1200 calorie eating plan....it sounds like something I can do--but I'm so afraid of giving up. I really, really need to look at my eating more closely and figure out HOW to be happy with a long-term plan.

Lisa I have been reading your journal for a long time now. I am just going to be honest, you haven't really stuck to any "plan" for many days at all. I honestly believe that any plan can work, you just have to give it a good amount of time. I, naturally, believe in JUDDD, but you tweak the numbers way too much for the program to do it's job. Again, it won't matter WHAT plan you do, just choose one and stay with it. Does that make sense? If I stepped out of line, I apologize.
Oh and Couch25K, love that program. I completed it in 2002 and went on to run numerous 5K's and two 1/2 marathons! It is a great program!

Thank you Monica...and you are absolutely right! I get too impatient and one of my worst traits is giving up too soon, when I don't get results. I honestly think Atkins spoiled me, because I had consistent weight loss throughout the whole time I did it....Looking back, I decided to quit that plan not only because I was missing certain foods, but reached a stall. So yeah, I gave up back then too! I need to learn how to be more patient...I have that problem at work too. I get several projects going at once, and when it comes to waiting to hear back from others to complete components of a project, I get sooooooo stressed out if it's more than a couple days. I want it done, and I want it done NOW! That's how I live my life, I guess. Even in my relationship I'm seeing it--we got engaged almost 2 years ago, and we still can't get a date set....so yep, I'm considering giving up on that too. ![]() If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can learn to be more patient, I'm all ears. Wish there was a class to take or something! The couch25k I'm *not* giving up.....that seems to be the only good thing going for me right now. grr. |

Lisa, have children, patience is the only option then!
Seriously that taught it to me. Maybe staying off the scale would help. Commit yourself to ONE week on XX plan. Be it JUDDD, Atkins, potato, whatever, just start with a 7 day commitment. Then, after 7 days, do another 7 days! Take it nice and easy with small goals and go from there. You can do this, I SIMPLY know you can! LOVE YOU GIRL! |

Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Monica!
![]() ![]() It's a DD for me, so I'm planning on just tea, a light yogurt, and maybe some veggies when I'm home for the night. We're not planning on doing anything special, but tomorrow we plan on going out for dinner. I'm really trying to give this JUDDD a "pure" and fair chance. I went tea shopping and found a bunch of sweet, fragrant teas that will hopefully keep me occupied on my DDs. Today, I'm considering this a "reset" and have to remind myself of my calorie limits: UD 1900 DD 400 Exercise: Currently on 1st week of Couch25k. I'm ready to give this another go....a fresh f'ing start! ![]() |

Excited to hear that you're gonna give JUDDD another shot! You can do this, I know you can. If I can, anyone can
Hoping you find what you need to keep you going on those hungry DD's..I know that can be frustrating. Luckily I tend to not be hungry on DD's much, which is a true miracle..eating just LC before I could eat all day long, everyday Hang in there and give it a real good clean try. I think you'll be happy! |

I love you two for sticking by me and having faith!
I finished my first week of couch25k! Yesterday's Up day was pretty low--I made it to dinner and was so surprised I didn't go overboard! Today's DD is going to be super tough--Joe has bbq pork in the slow cooker and it smells soooooo good! I had a couple slices of deli turkey with hummus and drowning myself in tea and coffee. Might just have a little more turkey for dinner and go to bed early for a perfect DD! (that's the plan so far, but it's only noon so ya never know...lol)Monica....we saved $300 at Kohl's last night! Our bill was a little over $150 and we got sooooo much stuff! |
