The scale is finally moving in a downward direction! I found my motivator--my sweetie offered to pay me $5 for every pound I lose, starting this week.

Been moving my fasting time around, so I'm eating a big breakfast--after a couple days it's getting easier to do. I'm a "habit" eater, not a "hunger" eater, so it's really hard to NOT eat something as soon as I get home from work--so I've been trying to do 15 minutes on the elliptical when I would normally eat my dinner. Wish I could do more than 15, but that's about all I can do before my heels start flaring up--I want to lose enough weight before surgery though, because it's a long recovery process if I do both heels at once.

That money will buy some pretty new clothes! Good for you getting on that elliptical. Habit eating can really be powerful. After dinner snack used to be my nemesis, and I finally broke that habit for the most part. It takes time, but it totally worth it. You're doing so great!

Oh yes....the $$ sure is a motivator. Already got the inspiration (ladies like you two that have done sooooooo well and are great supporters!)

I had a huge pork chop and eggs for breakfast--and I think that's going to get me through the day! I know it's going to get easier to just eat that one meal and forget about food for the rest of the day.

Been having some trouble getting water in.....I probably get less than 8 ounces of 'just' water a day. Need to trade in some of my huge mugs of coffee for water....I'll try it tomorrow. I just poured a fresh cup o' joe and hate to waste it.

Your breakfast sounds amazing! I admire your being able to eat big in the morning and then go the rest of the day. I'm exactly the opposite. I would NOT be fun to be around if I had to make it through the whole day without being able to look forward to something in the evening.

Carol, I still feel that inkling to look forward to a good meal in the evening, but I've been pretty good at telling myself I will eat it tomorrow..or I just take a bite of something luscious and stop at that. (yes, I CAN stop at one bite...amazing!)

Hi Jayce! Thanks for stopping by! I seem to have caught the crud that's been going around, so I'm happy it's Friday and I can spend all weekend in bed if I need to!

One side note about being sick--I don't know if it's how the body works or if it's the fact that I'm sipping OJ throughout the day....but I gained 3 pounds in one day.

I'm trying! Although, I do realize that I'm taking in tons of sugar with the OJ so I won't be surprised if I have to work harder once I'm back to 100% healthy. I slept most of the weekend, and feeling pretty good today so far.... I'm staying off the scale for a few days.

I think staying off the scale until after you feel more like yourself is a good idea. No need to add any stress to your day!

I'm MUCH better today! Felt good enough to have a big breakfast to carry me through until bedtime, hopefully! Just a little tickle in the throat, which I'm hoping will be gone by Thursday--my sweetie's taking me to a hockey game in the Twin Cities. Go Wild!

Jayce, I hate that I stress over the numbers on the scale--for a while, I was able to stay off it until the 1st of each month, but I'm back to obsessing and weighing every day or so. I know how it affects me, yet I can't pull away from it....

Glad to hear you're feeling better. I love hockey games in person! I am one of those people that likes seeing fights...I know, I know -- shame on me!

I, too, have been debating the scale topic...I have a tendency to obsess over daily fluctuations too, and I don't know that this helps me any. One thing I used to do when I first tried Protein Power (my 1st experience with LC) was weighing every day, but then I'd add them together, and take the average and that was my weight for the week. I'm pretty sure they advocated doing this in their 1st book, if I recall correctly.

I'm toying with the idea of weighing the 1st & 15th of next month.

Jayce--Oh yeah, when the gloves are thrown on the ice, it's on! Hockey is my favorite!

When I was doing JUDDD, the weighing every day didn't bug me at all....it was like a game, watching the number go up and down, up and down. Now I hate the "up", especially when it doesn't go down the next day!

Thanks dear Monica!

I'm dragging this morning....got home around midnight, and caught about an hour's worth of zzz's. Tons of coffee so far--didn't have much of an appetite, so had a piece of ham and two eggs--probably won't hold me for the whole day, so I'm going to bust out of my "one meal a day" mold and have dinner too.

I'm heading south tomorrow morning for a family baby shower down by Chicago--so I better catch up on sleep tonight, because it's a 4 hour drive there, and 4 hour drive back! Happy Friday all!

Had a good weekend, and started the day off great with 4 scrambled eggs with cheese and hot sauce, one chicken thigh, and coffee with HWC and Torani. Not sure if that will keep me full through the night as I have bowling league...but so far, so good!

I have a bit of a dilemma--got a whole bunch of hamburger browned up and I don't know what to do with it. Was thinking spaghetti sauce but want to stay as low carb as possible the next couple weeks to see if it helps me with the weight loss. White Castle Pie is my best 'go-to' but looking for other options to try out!

It sounds weird (lol), but I used to cook green beans in bacon grease, then mix with browned ground beef (usually added seasoning salt), & mixed all together with chive cream cheese -- it made this ooey-gooey dish, but was really good. Sometimes I would sautee onions & add in as well.

ETA: I love that White Castle pie!

White Castle Pie sounds yummy and intriguing! I'll have to look that up.

What about stuffing it into green peppers and melting some cheese over it? I've been thinking about doing something like that lately.

Whoops, it's been a while since I've been able to get on here! I ended up making spaghetti sauce with the ground beef, but Jayce, the green bean concoction sounds great! I'm going to keep that in mind for next time!

I have a doctor's appt after work today--My doc challenged me to lose 10 pounds in 2 months, so she's putting me on the scale today. I don't think I dropped 10, but if it's between 5-10 I'll be pleased. Crossing fingers.

Well, it wasn't 10 by a long shot--but I'll take 6 pounds! Hopefully gone forever! My doc gave me a good counseling session about making good decisions with eating and keeping the motivation going. I need to find a way to make daily exercise a habit--it's not sticking with me too well.

We set my next appointment for April--with a goal of 20 Pounds. I have 5 months to do it, but I need to get in the frame of mind that I need to work on that goal every day, starting TODAY!

Hey, 6 pounds is great! WTG, lady!

I feel you on the exercise thing...it's always been a struggle for me. I'm really trying to work on my mindset towards it. I think I need to start viewing it as a reward for myself somehow...maybe like "me time." Good luck with it!

You can definitely make that goal by April -- 1 lb a week is very reasonable!

Great job on the 6 pounds! I know you can easily do 20 in 5 months. Probably quite a bit more, actually. You can do it!
