Happy Saturday!
Last night I thought I'd have a binge on the all-u-can-stuff-in-your-face fish fry, but I didn't! I had the portion on my plate, along with hash browns and a roll and said NO more. Today I opened my eating window with a sandwich with Ham, lettuce, avocado, mustard, and hummus. NO MAYO--this completely surprised me. I didn't even have an URGE to put mayo on my sandwich. I'm calling this a victory because I put mayo on everything! |

Ok, it's Monday and I got through the weekend with no slip-ups....AND my food tracker looked great....eating was between 1100-1400. As each day passes, I'm more convinced that this Fast-5 is the key for me. I may not lose quickly, but I will lose this way! My pants already feel more comfortable, and I think it's because I'm not all bloated with bad food! If anything, I'm starting to make better food choices, and that in itself is a win in my book.
Drinking tea until noon, then opening my eating window with greek yogurt and stir fry. Yum.

Snowpocalypse has started! Ugh....gonna be a long commute to work, and even worse coming home this afternoon, since we're about to get 10 more inches dumped on us during the day. The interstate is closed on one side due to a semi going over a bridge into the river....scary stuff.
On a good note though, I had a good day with eating yesterday, and I'm ready to go till noon! |

It's 1pm, and has been snowing non-stop here....I'd say we have a good 6-7 inches of fresh snow. I don't mind, as long as I can get home safely! We're supposed to have a warmup the rest of the week, so I can imagine how slushy everything will be!
Opened up my eating window at noon with a greek yogurt, some cherry tomatoes, and treated myself to a portion of salt & vinegar potato chips. Looks like stir fry for dinner, followed by a decadent cup or two of cacao mint tea w/cream and Torani. |

Have a great weekend Monica!!! I'm a sucker for the DQ banana cream pie blizzard.
D, yes....I'm eating whatever I want in the 5 hr window, and I'm pretty shocked that I'm sticking with it AND enjoying it! It's like there is NO restriction of what I can eat, or how much....Yet, I've been managing to log between 1100-1500 calories a day AND feel satisfied with it. Today, I am able to move a notch in my belt loop! I'm so freakin' happy about that! |

Have you weighed? Do you know where you started at since you started eating this way, or are you just going by how clothes fit, etc? |

I don't think one day a week would make any difference, as long as you are consistent on your 5 hr window the other days. You can pick any 5 hr window you want if you tend to eat dinner later and want a satisfied tummy by bedtime.
I'm learning that this diet won't reflect much for the scale at first, so I think that's partly why I like it--I'm not getting discouraged by looking at the number. I moved a notch in my belt on Friday so I know it's doing something! I tell myself to weigh in at the start of each month, but I peek every so often - So far, it looks like I'm down 3 pounds, which isn't bad for almost 2 weeks. I'd say Google the "Fast-5 diet" and read the free e-book on the site; there are also some good reviews on Amazon. It seems to be the perfect fit for me so far. |

I read that people notice quickly right from the start that changes in clothing is noticeable before seeing alot of progress on the scale.. that's pretty good news!
Keep it up, it definitely seems to be right up your alley! |

Hey!
Yeah, the belt is kinda my gauge for progress, since I don't have a measuring tape or anything like that....I'm hoping to be in Onederland by the 1st week of April, but I won't be disappointed if I'm not, as long as I'm still on this belt notch. I didn't do anything this weekend. Not. a. damn. thing. I don't know if anyone else ever has a weekend like that, but I get them every so often. Only difference between this one and the others is that I felt no urge to eat all day. I stuck to the window and was happy with it! I did have a boatload of salt yesterday eating a Reuben and some chips, but I don't really feel as bloated as expected. Yay. ![]() |

Thanks Monica--I'm excited that it seems like something finally "clicked" with me. Wish I could change the title of my journal, since I'm not doing JUDDD right now, but we'll see how my progress goes on Fast-5, and if need be, I'll create a new journal.
Wedding date has not even been on the platform for discussion lately--and I'm ok with it. I've got a great guy, a beautiful home, and a pretty relaxed lifestyle....why mess that up with wedding plans? haha ![]() |

...and I hope it continues to agree with me--I'm wearing pants today that were uncomfortably tight in the waist the last time I tried them on in January.
I'm peeking at the scale a little more often, and I'm not seeing much of a number change--that used to bother me to the point of eating junk. I'm not really bothered right now. I know the number will eventually go down--Fitting into previously-tight clothing is a much better motivator for me! |
