My modified version of the fat fast 5.8lbs lost in less than 3 days!!!!

Hi Everyone!

I have no idea where to post this but I had to share my success with everyone so you guys could maybe try too. I was stalled for 2 1/2 months and still on induction levels. I have been low carb since the end of november 2011. I have done numerous meat and egg fasts (one time i was on it for 7 weeks!) and lost weight but only for the first 6 days never beyond that. So this Tuesday I decided to do my own modified version of the fat fast. I have lost 5.8lbs in less than 3 days! My menu and percentages are as follows:

Calories: 1718
Protein: 53g
Fat: 447g
Carbs: 13g

4tbsp cream cheese right when I wake up

Coffee with 4tbsp heavy whipping cream and 3 tbsp of coconut oil for lunch

Hamburger patty with bacon, cheese and lettuce for dinner*

5 eggs made with lots of mayo and mustard for a fourth meal

I hope this helps someone!

Are those calories right?
I ran the numbers and get 2130 cals using 4T mayo with the eggs (you said lots, so it could be more than that), 6oz 85% lean ground beef and 1 slice american cheese.

Hi Dottie,

I'm going off the exact brands and info from the labels of the things I eat so it should be almost exact I have a low carb app that tends to give me varying info so I just do it myself

SgtBrownsWife,
Can you tell us about how much mayo you use and do you use lean ground beef for the hamburger patty? How much bacon and cheese?
I would really love to try this.
I will not be able to use the CO.....it doesn't agree with me.

There are 2 slices of cheese on the hamburger an 3 small strips of bacon. I use probably 2-3tbsp of mayo on the eggs until its really creamy but not disgustingly so lol. I just use regular 80/20 ground beef. Have u tried cooking with coconut oil or using less at a time? The only reason I ask is because the coco it oil seriously Eli's up fat without many calories

Oh yes, it is a wonderful skin cream.....works wonders on very dry skin!
I am going to stay away from it for a while and add it back very slowly.
I usually enthusiastically over do things.

Hi Cowgurl!

I think you could try mixing some of the high fat stuff with meals u still like. Like I still wanted my hamburger and eggs. that way u don't feel like u are starving or missing out on getting to eat real meals . I kind of combined meat and eggs with the fat fast.

Cowgurl, I think the key for me was keeping protein under 55g and still staying low carb under 15g a day and getting as much fat as possible. I needed to cut my calories but honestly I think 1,000 is reallllly low. That's all I found when I read too but I really wanted to be able to keep this up for longer than 5 days and get to use it long term to get to goal. I am not hungry at all and if I only ate 1,000 calories a day I think I would just fall over and die lol. You could always try the 1,000 calorie plan for 5 days and ten maybe increase gradually to 1,250 then 1,500 and then be able to eat that way for a long time.

Hi Steady,

It's not a typo. I am taking everything directly from the nutrition facts. I don't really understand either because I looked that up and found the same info about calories per fat gram but the hamburger with bacon, cheese and lettuce that I eat has 480 calories and 325 grams of fat. I also know if I was eating over 4,000 calories a dy I would be gaining weight not losing and definitely not losing at this pace.

My other menu items are as follows

4tbsp cream cheese
98 calories 10 grams fat

Coffee with 4tbsp heavy whopping cream and 3tbsp coconut oil
544 calories 63 grams fat

Hamburger with lettuce, bacon, cheese
480 calories 325 grams fat

5 eggs with mayo and mustard
596 calories 49 grams fat

I am sorry to say this is impossible...maybe that is calories from fat but not fat grams. Each gram of fat is 9 calories.

Congrats on your loss. You may have done a modified fat fast, but I know that nutrition label is incorrect. In fact, more than 20% of nutrition labels are incorrect. I would cross check with another maybe two nutritional data website.

I really don't want others to be fooled into thinking a 277g burger with cheese, bacon, and lettuce could possibly have more grams of fat than it total weight in grams.

Steady,

As I said I am doing exceptionally well with my weight loss right now. If someone else ate the same I am right now they would do very well so I am not worried that this is going to in some way hurt others.

I created this thread to share my success and others so we could help each other. I'm not looking to have people critique what I'm eating especially since its working so very well.
