YAY! Congrats Alie & Gail!!!

Both of my kids had sleepover's last night so I found myself alone which I never am...I totally over ate. I was trying to make something good with coconut flour and kept tasting everything that I baked. (Still have not come up with anything yummy). I didn't have carbs though and am in fairly high ketosis so maybe the damage wont be too bad.

I am not weighing in I am super swelled up and puffy- think PMS is in full swing.

I will stay on course until it all blows over!!!

I cannot even tell you how amazing that felt to get the ones I wanted and not have to spend forever finding ones that would fit me or look good on me. When I started low carb I was a size 20 in SOME jeans and if I wasn't able to fit into a 20 I just wouldn't buy them. Things have changed so much for the better
AWESOME!!! That is so smart to grab jeans at a thrift store when you are melting away! I bought new ones last week and they already look too baggy. That is GOOD and BAD! lol

I know the feeling!!! LOL
We need to be able to rent jeans right now hahaha.
I buy mostly at the thrift store and some at old navy since they aren't super pricey there. I am not buying any expensive jeans right now since that would just be insane. I have never been so happy to put away or give away all my clothes expensive or not LOL

Totally! Thank goodness that is exactly where I bought mine: Thank you Old Navy!

I just keep holding up my clothes for my mom and saying- Yours Now!

Speaking of my mom (who is losing faster than me). She created a couple recipes already. I did the stats for this one:

Be careful though, it is almost too good.

Its Thanksgiving weekend up here and I have been pretty busy- the reason I haven't been around much. Yesterday I attempted the Mock Apple Crisp from a low carb cook book and it was soooo sweet I threw it out. It was not at all a crisp but a soggy mess. I must have done something worng! Today I will try again with something else. Perhaps, a raspberry cake. My father in law is coming and he is diabetic... this is the perfect excuse for me to stay on plan. Making a turkey and we know how high that is in protein so I will really watch my protein intake throughout the day and have just a bit for supper.
Mary, its true... just when I think I've figured this new WOE and weight loss out, I have to tinker with it again. Everyday is a science experiment.

I know it is not Thanksgiving yet for my American friends but know that this year, I am thankful for each and every one of you in this group. Even you Ccake all the way out in Ireland!

Be blessed with the whoosh!

Good Morning Everone!

Happy Thanksgiving Alie!!! Are you Canadian? My mom is from Nova Scotia...I'm lucky to be Dual Citizen...American and Canadian. I LOVE it there and think often often moving north.

I too have been experimenting with sweet baked goods. No luck yet- everything is so terribly sweet with the artificial sweeteners...my flat rule is to cut any sweetener in any recipie to about 1/4.

I did have some good luck with an almond flour/ coconut oil combo- it was the first cake I made that was actually moist.

Stuck to Plan Yesterday-Not weighing in again- very much in pms mode- SWOLLEN.

Good Luck Everyone!!!

I agree, baking tends to be very sweet but this raspberry almond coffee cake I just made seems OK. We'll see how it goes over a supper.

Yes, Canadian here. Wishing I had dual citizenship!

Have a great day and keep on plan- no matter what the scale says!

I don't think I'm even going to try to stay on plan for Thanksgiving. There is always SO much good food I think I would just be setting myself up for failure LOL

Well, I didn't weigh today. I feel bloated and moody yay lol.
I took the smaller dose of progesterone for 3 days and have been off of it for 3 days now. Usually it makes me start TOM within a few days so I am guessing it will show anytime now. I'm keeping myself busy today watching season 7 of Criminal Minds. I absolutely love this show

Good news! I passed the ultimate test. I cooked a traditional Thanksgiving meal and did not go off track. In fact, I watched myself extra closely yesterday and am down a pound today! Whooot Whooot!

I did lick the back of a small spoon of garlic mash potatoes - 1/2 tsp I suspect. And I did pick at the stuffing- I had 2 crumbs. Only ate 1oz of turkey.

My SF cake was a smash hit! And it was great- not too sweet.

Here's the recipe incase anyone is interested:

Raspberry Almond Coffee Cake

2 cups of almond flour
1/3 cup of vanilla whey powder
1/3 cup of granulated eryhritol
2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz of cream cheese,softened
1/4 cup of butter, softened
2 large eggs
1/8 tsp of stevia extract
1/2 cup of almond milk
3/4 cup raspberries

Topping
1/2 cup sliced almonds
2tbs of granulated erithritol
1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

Cake: In medium bowl, whisk together almond flour, vanilla whey protein powder, granualted erythritol, baking powder, baking soda, xanthan gum and salt. In large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, and then beat in Stevia extract. Add 1/2 of almond mixture and 1/2 of the almond milk to the cheese, butter, egg mixture and beat. Add the second have of almond flour mixture and almond milk and beat.

Grease an 8x8 inch pan and pour 1/2 of your batter to the pan. Sprinkle your raspberries on batter. Spread the second half of your batter over the raspberries.

Topping: In a small bowl, whisk together almonds slices, granulatederythritol and cinnamon. Sprinkle over cake.

Bake at 325 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes or until top is golden brown.

**I used pecans for the topping instead of almonds and love it!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

That is so AWESOME Alie! YAY! 30 Pounds!

Congrats as well on being so in control around Thanksgiving food- WOW.

I am also happy for the recipe- I will definitely be trying it soon!

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!

I shouldn't have weighed- but I did. I weigh more than ever: 153. I have PMS though and can't that bloat you up to 5 pounds? I sure hope so. I think I must be one of those "resistant" people Atkins talked about.

I have had a deficit of at least 450 to 500 calories in my diet everyday- it is mathematically impossible for me to be gaining weight!

I am going to do either the meat/egg fast at 0 carbs or the fat fast (the one with five 200 cal meals- 1000 cals 90% fat)

Both supposedly jump start weight loss...I have to try something!

Also going to add some exercise everyday- not too much don't want to be building a bunch of muscle right now. What do you guys think???

GOOD LUCK TODAY EVERYONE!!!

Hawaii! Don't forget your hormones. I hate PMS because I can gain as much as 5 pounds. Hold tight and you'll see this is probably just water weight. And you need to eat more cals than less I suspect.

These girls know me... when I am in the middle of a hormone gain, I am miserable.

Hold tight!

Christina & Alie-

Thank You for the Pep Talk- I was so bummed this morning.

I will wait until after the dreaded hormones do what they need to do this week before I do anything too drastic.

Hi ladies!!!

Today and yesterday were super busy and I am dead tired. Still PMSing over here so that makes me even more tired. I'm hanging in there though .
It was a chilly 63 degrees here (chilly to us Florida people lol) I loved it. I LOVE cold weather. I wish it got colder here and snowed .

Congrats Allie!!

I totally agree with Allie about waiting on your hormones. I don't even bother changing a thing if I am PMSing. Hormones are so stubborn it wouldn't matter what you did they would still do what they wanted . I have done meat and eggs multiple times and never got more than 5 lbs off even when I did it for 7 weeks straight. Since I eat the way I do now the reason I believe it never got farther is because of high protein. Since I know now protein in high numbers turns into glycogen like carbs do I don't think of it as a good solution. If you get desperate after PMS you could try the actual fat fast. I would be way more inclined to think that would work over meat and eggs if you are looking for a jump start. Just my 2 cents

Hey everyone!! Not lost for a few days but not gained either. I've not been sticking to plan though - Monday I only had 1 CO coffee instead of 3 and I didn't eat dinner and yesterday I gabbed a CO coffee before a trip across the other side of the country for my daughters hospital appointment then nothing until dinner, which was steak and salad, so far too much protein and not enough fat!. Back on track today so hoping for a loss when I weigh in the morning!

How's everyone doing? It's very quiet in here!!

Hi Gail!

Hope everything goes well with your daughter.

Same here- I'm in a holding pattern, sticking to plan and hoping for good news after TOM!

It is really quiet in here isn't it? Is Alie off on her adventure already? Hope she finds food to eat!

Hi ladies!!!

I think Allie is out of town this week which would help explain some of the quiet I have been so busy and I am STILL PMSing. Today it is a million times worse so I SHOULD be starting within a couple of days. I burst into tears today for no apparent reason and my boobs hurt a billion time worse today LOL. I know those are good signs but they are NO fun right now. I'm just staying the same on the scale and have been for a while. It's no surprise to me since my hormones are going haywire right now. I hope everyone else is doing well and hanging in there! It's my birthday today and I will NOT be cheating. Yay me

Hi All! I'm back from Cape Cod and did not gain weight! I did not cheat! In fact, I think I lost... here's the the thing - I binged a bit on my low carb snacks when I got home last night because I hadn't had any snacks in over a week so I''m a little up this morning. No worries- I am so proud of myself. I have made it through Thanksgiving and a vacation without a cheat. I am really going to do it this time!!
Will have to get caught up with this string! - Not much to get caught up on! Where is everybody??
