Great idea! It's always nice to do something to make yourself feel pretty/better when you feel like doo it is absolutely raining sheets here right now so I am stuck inside working for now. I feel a tad less bloated so hopefully it will go away soon.

Weigh-in this morning: 218.4 lbs. I couldn't really follow it yesterday. Car belt fell off AGAIN!!! I worked on the car during the day and had it ready for my son in law to complete (too weak to do it myself; husband is disabled). I didn't eat much but had a smokin sausage (no bun) from Rally's at 10:30 last night. If I want to lose weight I can not eat after 7:00. I start my new job tomorrow so it will be easier to stay on track, not home no food except what I bring to work. I can't buy anything extra since I have not gotten a paycheck for this month and we are running out of money (saving what we have for gas money to bring me to work.)

Hi Cathy!

I'm sorry about your car . It always seems like problems come in droves. Our pool pump went out AND we had to replace our air conditioner all in the last two weeks. Talk about no fun. I hope it gets fixed fast for u. I always do better when I eat earlier too.

Chik,

I am STILL bloated lol. I have terrible indigestion and A migraine like every day right now. I have been PMSing Since Friday so I am really ready for this to be over lol. I am so hoping by the end of this week I am back on the losing train. My periods had gotten irregular from hormones being all out of wack being over weight. Ever since I started losing weight like this and stopped taking melatonin my hormones are on full swig coming back to life lol. I can't wait until this is over. Weighing every day was so much fun and now I won't go near my scale until I don't feel bloated.

Also, a FANTASTIC remedy I found for cramps: get icy hot patches for your back or off brand and put them right on your abdomen where the cramps are. It is the only thing that helps my cramps and it feels sooooooooo good. I have always had awful ones. I absolutely swear by those patches now. They don't make u sweltering hot like the heat patches do at all.

Mary,

thank you I will try these out......I always make hot water bottles...but who needs a hot water bottle in 100 degree heat??
Hope u feel better soon....I am suppose to use this bioidentical hormone cream but I don't use it...I get hot flashes and all kinds of stuff.....though the cramps seem easier, but for now I can do without the hot flashes.....
For sleeping I have ambien. Nothing else works

Chik,

I would be super careful with the hormones. I know some of us really do need them but I took natural progesterone AND my mom did for years. It really messed us both up SO badly. Please make sure you read everything about what you will be taking and not let the dr's just tell you what to do. We were going to a really well known dr who only dealt with natural hormones and he still ended up screwing me all up. I hope u don't take offense to this. I just wish someone had told me .

The icy hot will no make you feel hot at all since it has menthol on it. It just feels numbing. I know what you mean about not needing to feel hot. It's always so hot here and when I would us those heat patches I thought I was going to die of the heat lol

I don't take offense.....My doc is a natural doc also....but I am not taking the cream anymore....and I will try pushing off taking it for as long as I can...didn't like that thing at all....I was always angry and running around screaming etc.....It was like it made me be in menopause on fast forward....lololol
I will do all human beings that are in my life a favor and not take it...lololol

Hopefully tomorrow its will be better.....there is no way I am leaving the house today...trying not to walk at all and just read....so far so good

I can relate! I was just seriously moody all the time. I don't blame you for not wanting to go anywhere. I have been wearing sweats since Friday. I refuse to wear fitted clothes lol.

The dr kept tellin me to take MORE progesterone to alleviate any symptoms I had like moodiness, longer cycles etc and it just kept making it worse. I have been off of it for almost 3 months and off of melatonin for a month and I feel so much better now not to mention its nice not to have anything I rely on to make me "normal"

I hope I am losing weight along with losing the bloating I have every day. That would be a great surprise I somehow have managed not to get off plan at all which is a miracle considering my hormones have been telling me things like "go to the store get lays chips and eat the bag....no one will know" LOL. My hormones ARE the devil.

Food today so far=

upon rising coffee 3x with almond milk, HWC, CO
mid morning 3eggs cooked in butter with pesto and HWC, 2 strips of bacon
water and water with ACV now

Lunch is going to be turkey burger with cheese, mayo, bacon, in lettuce wrap
Supper will be either the same as lunch or parmesan chicken with majo, maybe a tiny bit of cabbage

Mmm sounds good! I have only had my cream cheese so far. Not much of an appetite today and I am usually more hungry later in the day. I will have my coffee with co and hwc at 3pm

Morning all

well I ended up not eating lunch or supper yesterday and with so little calories there is no way I am going on that scale LOLOLOL

Not hurting as much today so my food will be better too
So far brekkie was coffee with the usual ingredients
2tbsp of cream cheese
supplements (fish oil, vit)

Thank you I just want it to hurry up and come. I don't need anymore build up..I get the point lol. Do your cramps usually cause your stomach to hurt? It just about kills my tummy when I'm cramping. I think I'm going to declare today "nap day" haha

New job has me running crazy. I didn't eat much yesterday and what I did eat was super high fat. I think it was 87% fat; scale dropped to 216.4 from 218. I'll revel in the glory today and hope it does not bounce up too much tomorrow. I was on the road for work today and ate a little higher carbs and lower fat than I usually eat. We shall see tomorrow.

PS - I am so sorry for you ladies. I can say that I truly do not miss that!! Menopause is a godsend.

That's great Cathy!!!! I have been trying to keep my fat super high at about 87 % lately too. That always made me lose more. I will hopefully be able to get on the scale tomorrow or Friday once my bloating is gone and get to see some progress .

Just an interesting thing I read online: only 58% of protein caloriea are used the other 42% go to making glycogen so that's yet anOther reason moderate protein and high fat work so well I think . I think my problem When i was on meat and eggs was from the protein constantly replensing my glycogen stores so i couldnt burn fat. LCHFMP sure works well for me and I would stop losing or stall forever on everythiiiiiiing Else lol

Morning all

that is interesting Mary. I didn't know....hmmmmmm makes u think real hard.....So, how do I phrase this.....basically is it more important for the protein not be so high (and about where) or is it more important for the fat to be wicked high??????
Not sure if I am asking this right????

Well, woke up this morning with yet more Cramps which is extremely unusual.....and I am def having to change more often then normally TMI I know....just noting the diff in cycles......I spend the day yesterday reading, besides the obvious stuff that has to be done every day....

I'm sorry you are still having cramps today is my 7th day of PMS. My TOM is sure taking her dear sweet time lol. I hope you feel better soon too .

Well apparently the moderate protein is very important because of what I said in my other post (not wanting excess protein to turn into glycogen) and the fat being high is equally as important because you don't want to starve and fat is the only nutrient you can eat and not have it turn into glycogen. That's also why we keep our carbs low (I keep mine under 15g but I'm sure 20 is fine) since excess carbs turn into glycogen too. So basically we are doing everything to eliminate glycogen so our body is forced to use fat for fuel 24/7 I hope that makes sense lol

So, now naturally my next question is going to be why does the body then not take the fat we eat for energy, but its own???? Sorry for all the questions. It obviously (the diet) is working I am just trying to understand the science behind it.

I totally understand the questions. I have been having so many myself. I kind of came up with this idea by pulling other diets together and tweaking them to fit what I've learned.

when you consume fat it uses fat for fuel. For instance If I have glycogen stores my body wants to use those over anything else so if I have no glycogen stores my body has to use fat and because my body is using the fat I just ate as fuel to run it is able to go into my fat stores very quickly and start eliminating fat instead of spending a bunch of time going through glycogen stores. it can take many hours to go through glycogen stores so not having any stores gives your body a huge advantage in fat burning.

So in short if you eat anything other than fat in excess it can turn into glycogen creating an extra step for your body to go through to burn fat and possibly my gettif to burn fat at all of the glycogen stores are replenished enough. Fat is pure fuel so it doesn't go to any stores it gets used right away so your body goes straight to burning fat

Excess protein and carbs = glycogen stores
Fat = pure fuel

Ok, got it

So a person would still have to watch their caloric intake on fat then??? Because too much fat your calories would go thru the roof and then ur body would not be able to burn that much. Correct?????

If my assumption is Correct then how to find the right fat calories for your body with out knowing how much ur burning?????

Ugh, sorry I am dense this morning!!!! I appreciate ur patience with me though HUGS
