Hello Everyone!

Wishing you all a successful weekend!

I chose not to weigh in this morning because I can feel water weight- don't want to get discouraged.

Staying on track!

I need all of your advice and suggestions.

My mother asked me to go with her onan organized tour of Cape Code and Martha's Vinyard. I agreed. Here is my dilema- all meals are included which I will not be fully partaking in of course.

How do I travel with my almond milk, coconut oil, heavy cream? If Idon't have these staples I can forsee a problem.

I thought I would pack snack baggies of peacans and walnuts (easy). Then I guess I could bring a jar of coconut oil and add it to plain tea if necessary. And almond milk does not need to be refrigerated but once that container is opened well it could get messy. e Do I bring a couple of tetra packs and leave them on the bus and hotel room for quick access. I could leave behind my whipping cream I suppose. And what about my fat
bombs?! Won't they melt if I take them out of the freezer/fridge? Should I bring string cheese fora quick bite? I should probably make up my menu beforehand.

Girls- lets get innovative. I'm really scared I'll blow it and that is NOT an option. Anything you can offer will be appreciated. I'll be gone from Oct 8th and back the evening of Oct 16th.

Thanks in advance!

Alie

Alie,

I am trying to imagine what I would do in your place...you have some good ideas so far.

I think I have an idea for the fat bombs!

You know when you get "take-out" food and the salad dressing, salsa, etc. comes in those little disposable plastic containers with fitted lids?

Maybe you could find where to buy those and make the fat bombs inside those! Then even if the bomb gets a little (or a lot) melty you could still just pop the lid and eat it!

Like a fat bomb jello shot.

More Ideas:
Low Sodium Pork Rinds (Old Time Fat Back Skins)
Macadamia & Brazil Nuts
Canned Pate

Still thinking...

The Almond Milk- you could just put in separate sealed containers/bottles.

Kippers- but prolly too much sodium.

Found a recipie for coconut bread- which may travel well?

Coconut Flour Bread (Found on "Maggie's Nest" Blog)

Ingredients:
3/4 cup coconut flour
6 pastured eggs
1/2 cup butter, ghee or coconut oil (melted)
1/4 C Honey or Maple Syrup- (eeek I would use Splenda)
1/2 teaspoon unrefined sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
juice of 1/2 lemon

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease loaf pan very well, or line with parchment paper.
2. Combine coconut flour, eggs, honey (Splenda) and salt in a mixing bowl and beat with a whisk or spoon until you have a smooth paste. Add in baking soda and lemon and mix lightly.
3. Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 40 minutes.
4. Cool on rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing. (1 dozen slices)

Total time: 45 minutes (5 minutes prep, 40 minutes baking, 15 minutes cooling)

I figured the stats:
Total loaf: 1761 Calories, 153.8g Fat, 52g protein, 53 Carbs
Per Slice: 146.8 Calories, 12.8g Fat, 4.3g protein, 4.4 Carbs

Another great idea. Bake beforehand, wrap well and store in a ziploc. tx I think I'll do my banana nut muffins instead (splenda of course!).

Hi Laura!
It is a Canadian bus tour. Ottawa Valley bus tours (I believe). Called the Cape Cod Experience. The website doesn't say all that much but I think it will be beautiful.

Banana Walnut Muffins (Almond Flour)

1 cup almond flour
1/2 cup flax seed, ground
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 tsp liquid Splenda
2 tablespoons butter, melted
11/2 teaspoon banana extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons water
2 eggs

In a small bowl, stir together the almond flour, flax meal, baking powder, salt, and nuts. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Stir in the liquid Splenda, the extracts, cream and water. Add the dry ingredients and the eggs to the butter mixture; stir with a wooden spoon until well blended. Fill 6 paper-lined muffin cups with the batter, dividing it evenly among them. You can spray the liners with cooking spray, but they don't seem to stick too much. Bake at 350║ 15-20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in the refrigerator. Serve with butter or Cream Cheese Spread.

6 total carbs; 5 carbs of Fiber (1 net carb) [as per Mastercook]

Welcome Rottenthing- you and I work the same hours. I'm up at 4:30 am, eat a 5:00am. I eat a snack at 9:00ish (walnutsor pecans) the lunch at noon and so on... its a long day but it can be done.

You definately need to get the protein down. I love chicken but tend to stay away because it has more protein than other meats. You'll figure it out! I would also strongly suggest you use ******.com if you aren't doing so already!

Hi everyone!

Not sure what is going on but I have gained .5 - can't be my numbers because I have been spot on. Might be sodium in the butter I have been cooking with. Kind of sucks... but will see what tomorrow brings.

Hope you all have whooshes today!!

Hey everyone

Had a busy couple of days and not been home much. Not enough calories on Friday, just over 1000. Didn't weigh until mid day Saturday so I'm not counting that!! Meals were all over the place on Saturday. Only had 1 coffee and ate dinner out - steak, butter garlic sauce, sauteed mushrooms and onions and the salad garnish. Didn't weigh until midday again today and I was at my virgin weight, so happy with that!

I got a sachet of Cadbury Caramel hot chocolate today so I can have a treat next week. It's only 5 carbs hurrah!!!

Hi everyone!!!!!

Welcome Rot! I am so glad you are joining us!!

Allie, your trip sounds awesome!

Well, I ended up getting to go out with my hubby last night for our 5 year wedding anniversary which is Monday. We were just planning To go shooting at the range but then that turned into an evening out so I Defintely ate bad food lol. I had crab cakes, flounder, shrimp and fried pickles. Oh and can't forget 3 smirnoff's LOL. Needless to say I didn't step on the scale this morning. Between pms and last nights detour I am going to wait a couple of days to weigh .

I hope everyone is having a good weekend

Whenever we go off plan (hubby is doing it too) my hubby will decide to go off plan for the whole weekend basically which he can do since anything he gains falls right off (grrrrrr). Anyways, he just walked in with doughnuts, pumpkin spice coffee and taco bell. I am NOT touching it but it looks SO good boo LOL

Welcome Rottenthing!!!

I'm new too & still trying to figure it all out and tweak it to fit me. This support group is amazing- really keeps me upbeat, hopeful and motivated. Really glad you found it. I can say I can't remember the last time I felt as good, energetic & happy and I have since starting this WOE. This is IT for me. (plus my skin hasn't looked this good in years!)

CCake: Congrats on the loss!

Alie: The muffins look awesome. 1 net carb !? I am so making these asap

I am having quite a bit of trouble with sodium- really stalling me. I love my salted butter too...but I think it is time to switch to unsalted... It is just sooo hard to keep that sodium down- it's everywhere. grrrrr

Mary: Happy Anniversary!

Sometimes when you are celebrating you just have to let it go for a night! Good idea not weighing in though lol...what you don't know won't hurt you right? Uuuggg Taco Bell...I would have to leave the house to avoid the bag.

I am so happy you posted this Alie- I feel so much better now! I was seriously getting worried because I have not lost any weight for DAYS...but my pants are falling off! I had to go down a size and buy a new pair yesterday. Now I know I'm doing just fine. THANK YOU.

I am going to start tracking my measurements too.

I say if you had a good date night out with your hubby and you are able to get backon then do just that and don't look back.

I hope the article helps you all as much as it helped me this morning.

Spent the day up at our property working on a fence. I dug 6 holes to plant trees (my excersise for the day)

I went there without packing a lunch as I usually do and found I was not at all hungry. When My husband said he needed to grab something to eat because he was hungry we went to the corner store. I chose a pepperoni stick, a diet pepsi and 1 oz of cheddar cheese. Snap! That was easy!!

Haven't drank nearly enough water today but tomorrow I'll be back at it again.
The leaves are absolutely here. The rain is falling slightly (kind of misting) I love the fall!
