Hi girlies. I'm kinda sticking my nose in here

I just started my fat fast yesterday morning and I am down 3lbs overnight. I'm super excited and just wanted to find some other people who have done/are doing the same thing. I've been lurking a lot in this thread but have yet to post here. It's been a lot of help so far!

Thanks! I've been dieting for about 6 months now and have lost 53 pounds. I really need to re-charge/have a boost and I think this fat fast is the key. Super exciting. Love it!

I've been having peanut butter in my FF. I'm not sure if this is bad or good. On the one hand, it's delicious, but on the other, I want to eat the whole jar lol

Good morning all,
I can't give you an accurate weigh in this morning. I normally weigh in at 5:00 am when I get up but today being Saturday, I slept in till 7:00. So, I'm down to 253.3 but is it because i am 2 hours late...probably. I am pretty sure I am not losing as fast as Mary and Chik. I need to re-tweak and set my alarm for 5am tomorrow! The goal today is to get that protein down.

Good morning all!!!!

Congrats on everyone's losses!!

Christina, I totally agree. Staying the same is great on this diet because you know the drop is coming

Alie, that sounds like a great goal! Another thing to do if you haven't already is look at an old low carb menu you have (pick any day) and use nutrition calculator online or in an app on your phone (I use carbs control on my iPhone it's free) to figure out what your old percentages are. That really help me out things into perspective and understand. Most of my nutrients were the same but I was eating well over 100g of protein most days so I know that's what stalled me .

Junk, that is great!! Having losses like that especially close to goal are hard to come by and a huge accomplishment!! I am not on HCG. I believe Manders is, she joined last night .

Well I am not down at all this morning just like yesterday but I did start my progesterone last night. I am Defintely in full blown PMS. I have never had a couple of dys of progesterone not work to start my period so I am happy to be on my way . I woke up with all of my symptoms I've had the last 17 days times ten lol yay me!

Wow, you are all doing so great with this!

I have to say, getting those fat grams up while keeping the protein down is HARD. I managed to do it yesterday. I ended the day with:
74% fat
18% protein
8% carbs.

I think it was a good beginning, but boy was my calorie intake high - right at 2000!
I need to find some substitutions for my regularly eaten "low carb" food.

So, I am putting my starting weight at 181, and we will go from there.

That's a great start Janet!! My calories were 1950 yesterday. As I was telling Allie having low calories and high fat is really hard. The metabolic advantage is in our favor though I have gone as low as 1,750 calories and I really couldnt get any lower in order to keep my fat grams high enough so u are within a good range

I plan on eating this way a few months until I am at goal. I can't remember exact numbers but we can be healthy on super low protein(I wanna say 40g). What we are eating isn't considered super low. It's just like the common knowledge on carbs is to eat 100g or less which is WAYYY high and not healthy. It's the same principle. This idea is just newer I think.

Well, with the strict Atkins FF, you're technically supposed to be eating 75% fat (preferably 90%), and only 1000 calories, so 4 meals a day of 250 calories, or 5 meals a day of 200 calories.

Quote:

I'm on the strict Atkins FF. It was designed to be done no longer than 10 days MAXIMUM. The idea is that EVEN on a low carb diet (and I mean even at <20 carbs) our bodies sometimes get excited from extra protein (i.e. over 60) and turn it into sugars to be used, which is exactly what we don't want because that takes us out of ketosis. The purpose of the FF is to totally deplete the sugars in the body and send them into very deep ketosis. It's like a huge kick in the pants for your body.

Looks like some of the other girls have been having good success with keeping their calorie levels higher, so I say whatever works for the individual is the best. I'm just a rule breaker so I know if I say that I can have 1300 instead of 1000, then I'll have 2000. lol

Anyways, enough of my rambling. I weighed in at 180.4 today, which is unfortunately .6 up. However I already know the culprit. I took Nyquil last night due to a cold and unbeknownst to me, it had 16 grams of sugar in it.

So today will be absolutely no nyquil, and nothing even with any sugars. Which means no more peanut butter.

Could someone post an average menu?
I'm having trouble coming up with high fat/low protein/low carb foods.
I know I could eat several sticks of butter, but I don't think this is how that's supposed to work!

LOL! I'm going to admit this here (I would never admit this anywhere else). I can stand in front of the fridge and eat spoonfuls of mayonnaise...

This was my first menu I did up. As it stands, I'm cutting out the bacon and peanut butter because I can't control myself with them in my reach. I also don't eat the chicken. Dang it, I'll just make a new menu and post it later LOL

Hi Mary!
Hi Chik!
I am using fit day to do my calculations and even with cutting back I am still not able to get my protein under 14%. What am I doing wrong?? I am going to post todays menu below and with any luck you or Christina can see something I don't.
B- 4 eggs
2 tbls of coconut oil
1 tbs of mayo (olive oil based)
1 tbls of cream cheese

Snack- 4oz of heavy cream
1 tbls of cocoa powder (no milk, no sugar)
6 drops of stevia

L- 1/2 cup of coffee
1/2 cup of almond milk unsweetend
3 tbs of coconut oil

S- 2 cups of raw lettuce
2 oz roasted chicken
1 medium dill pickle
1/2 slice of tomato
2 small slices of turnip

My numbers are as follows:
calories 1,405
carbs 14.6 g
fat 132.4 g
Protein 47 g

This equates to:
83% fat
14% protein
3% carbs

If you have any suggestions please let me know. How do I up the cals without eating more coconut oil (I'm maxed here). Even when I drop tp 3 eggs, I am still too high on protein.

Maybe I could see your menu for today? I dunno... frustrated.

Alie

Hi manders, I like your menu. I think I am eating too many eggs! I thought I was supposed to get 3 or 4 in but I see you only have 1 in the morning. Hmm.

Hi Janetsbreeze- not sure my menu is 100% - so until Christina and Mary chime in I'd hold on using my example. I believe I may be eating too many eggs. Hope to hear from them soon. Alie

Hey all,
sorry was food shopping and bank etc....ugh its hot again, so ready for this heat to go away....somebody pls shut of the planet already lololol

Ok, what do I eat all day long....hmmmmm
well, mine is diff from Mary's now....I started out doing it the same as her's that she posted before....
coffee with almond milk when I get up
coffee with HWC and almond milk (I like my coffee weak and white )
coffee with HWC and almond milk and CO
If I am hungry at any time during the morning I have a big spoon full of CC
between lunch and 2 another coffee with HWC, almond milk, CO(3-4tsp each time)
if I get hungry before or after supper (which I eat early) then I have some macadamia nuts (about 10pieces at the time)
sometimes I snack on some bacon or spam( I know I know gross) during the day
supper= some kinda meat and 1 lose cup of lettuce or some cabbage. If burger then with bacon, cheese and mayo. Anything else just some mayo or sour cream on top

If I should be hungry during the morning or upon rising I eat a couple eggs with scrambled with HWC with pesto cooked in butter.

That's pretty much it. I try to eat supper early and usually don't have a need to snack after supper. I try to eat early so I have an extended fast till the next morning....

I drink 2liters of cold peppermint tea and 1liter of water with ACV. If still thirsty then straight water.....

I don't measure or log my food....I eat when I am hungry only and I eat till I am full but not stuffed....I try to make sure what ever I eat I put a ton of fat stuff on it or in it...that's all....
I can't do tomatoes. The throw me out of ketosis right away...I am very carb sensitive...also no other veggies right now till I loose the bulk of my weight then I will slowly put them back in....

Right now I am not eating any eggs, but only because I am not an egg person....(yes I know I have chickens...lololol)
I would much rather eat some macademia nuts any day
