Marika-I do not eat a lot of meat. Only fish or chicken and very, very limited pork. I also do not eat meat everyday. I had a small piece of turkey on Thanksgiving and then Tuesday I had a chicken tender. In between those days, I had shrimp one day. I do eat a lot of fat though...mostly in the form of butter, cheese, or my preferred bleu cheese salad dressing. It is extremely difficult to get UD calories with my diet. I have had to modify my numbers so that it works for me.

I certainly wouldn't worry about jumping back on the JUDDDD band wagon yet. You still need to recover and it will take some time. You will get there! *hugs*

Still having some pain in the rib cage and the back which could indicate gallstones. Many times GS cause pancreitis. The ultra sound and CAT scan in ER did not show any indication of GS just acute pancreatitis. Anyway seeing my doc next week, hopefully I will feel better by then. Guess what was the first question by a doc in the hospital- have you lost a significant amount of weight lately? I lost 5-6 lb before I started feeling sick. I don't know if that's significant or not. Doc asked me if I was on any diet to lose weight. My sister started saying that I was on some crazy diet but I stopped her and just said I was on LC. I did not feel like explaining JUDDD at that time. So I have been doing some reading and it is common to have GB issues after losing weight and not only that- Fasting (good bye JUDDD) can cause gallstones in some people. I had no idea that fasting can do it. I read quite few articles about it and it scared the heck out of me. Well, that settles that for me. I don't want to diet anymore! I am happy with my weight now. I will just eat the way I was always eating, which is grain-free with moderate carbs. I just have to keep on working on my over-indulgence issues during PMS. Not restricting is supposed to help with binging anyway and I know I still have to work on it. I am making progress with binging but it will not go away overnight.
I just want to feel better and don't care if I ever reach my goal of 120 (it is just some stupid number I made up in my head anyway). I am 124-125 now and can fit in most of my clothes. I start to look sick when I get below 125 anyway, so I am content with were I am right now and I am done with dieting.

So you're calling goal? I LOVE IT!

I'm so happy you have come to that decision. I don't know why we get numbers in our head and think the world won't be quite right until we get "there". I know you must look amazing, and Monica's right. Feeling good is way more important than an arbitrary number.

WTG girl!

Thank you all for checking on me. S L O W L Y getting better. Still very fatigued, but that's normal.

It is nice not to be obsessing about food everyday. I have my list of food I stick to and eat till I am satisfied. Eating lots of lots of veggies!!! They are the staple of meals bow and the meat is what veggies used to be before. Total opposite what I used to eat. It makes eating out or travelling with food so much easier now. I had absolutely uneventful PMS after a very long time (zero binging). Weight is hanging around 123-124.

Thank you girls. Will stop by once in a while to say hello.
Wishing you all wonderful holidays !!! Big hugs to all

Btw, I got to my goal weight of 120 without trying too hard. Just eating the way I was eating before I started dieting with the help of few books that made me aware of my body signals plus all the experience I gained trying to beat the hungry monster. The key for me seems to be balance in every aspect of that word. Eating veggies, meat, fruit and fat, without grains and sugar. Eating less added fat than I have been eating but still including fatty meats and fish. High fat was never satisfying me and was only adding more calories . I am not eating low fat now, just eating less than before. I don't skip meals anymore, to keep my blood sugar stable and I am balancing meals correctly by eating veggies with all meals. There is no more obsession about counting calories and carbs and there is no need to over stuff my body with food, there is no such word in my vocabulary as pms binging, pms overeating- yes, but not binging. I respect my body and family too much to even consider it. I had lots of time on hand to read and contemplate on my past behaviour and I feel like I'm finally where I was trying to get for the past 2 long years. It took me a long time and suffering to get here.

Nice to long-in and see so many lovely visitors

Thanks for stopping by Jessica. Happy Holidays to you as well!!!

Monica and Sirtain- thank you girls!

SS- I really missed you! Glad you are doing well in maintenance

Not much to report. Enjoying healthy foods without obsession. That seems to be my motto! Happy to see that eating more carbs is not affecting the scale. Most of the carbs come from veggies. Right now I am really enjoy rutabaga. It tastes just like potatoes and it is awesome in soup. I am not counting any calories or carbs, but if I had to guess, I am probably around 100-150 gr of carbs/day. I think by staying lower on fat I can afford higher carbs without scale damage. I am not craving fruits as much I used to, because I feel satisfied with the carby veggies like beets, carrots, parsnips, rutabaga, butternut squash, onions etc. Weight is hanging around 121-122. I still check it daily. I guess old habits dye hard, lol.

Happy Holidays to All!

Marika-you know, I think that's what gets some of us into trouble in the first place. We don't weigh or weigh enough. We just notice that are clothes are getting tighter and, in a lot of cases, we just go buy new clothes instead of taking care of the problem. It is definitely true in my case! I will for sure be weighing everyday once I hit goal.

So glad to hear you are maintaining well! And you've given me an idea! I wonder how my potato soup would be if I replaced the potatoes with rutabaga? Hmmmm.... Might have to try that sometime!
