Awesome Marika! I find that when I feel I am never going to break out of a binge cycle and feel the most hopeless suddenly things start to get better. The loss of control really scares the heck out of me but sooner or later the craziness seems to stop. Now if we could just figure out how to prevent the process!?

Crazy day today. I only managed 2 tbls of ghee. I caved in on some carbs tonight. I skipped lunch because I was not hungry. I came home late, so by the time I cooked my dinner I have eaten 2 apples and 2 almond muffins. That's like 60 gr of carbs. But I stopped right there (Thankfully!!!). Oh well, you can say today was an UD. Maybe tomorrow will be a DD. I am not planning it, but it may happen

It looks like I really need 3 tbls of ghee a day for SLD to work, at least at the beginning. I really wanted to keep it LC for now after my horrible binging spree, but maybe it is better this way, I wont feel too deprived if I eat some carbs everyday. I think that's happened during my last binging bonanza (I was staying LC and when PMS monster arrived I had a high carb party). So as long as I stay moderate carb every day, it is fine. I really don't think I can be low carber. There is no point of staying LC for 2-3 weeks and than eat carbs for 10 days straight. It happens each month to me. It just does not make sense.

OK, I need help Why oh why do I feel like still doing JUDDD? I am already planning my DD tomorrow. It is nuts! I said I wont do planned DD anymore. I wonder if I should try it again with higher calories than what my calculator says or perhaps with 3 DD a week.
Is it because I miss carbs so much? If I do LC and eat fruits I can't be doing LC plus I will not be losing weight. I have seen it that I do very well on JUDDD till PMS and then can't control myself for 10 days. The thing is I can't control myself on any WOE during PMS, so if that's the case I can do JUDDD and then just be miserable and disgusted with myself during PMS. JUDDD is not making it any worst, so why not do JUDDD.
Here she goes again

You know, I am doing set DD's. I do T/Th down days and then I choose either Saturday or Sunday to be the 3rd DD. I am not losing huge, but I am losing about the same. Just a thought.

Thanks Monica. That's something I would consider once I get close to my goal weight.

Carol- you always tell me to stick with my plan and don't jump around. You are so right, GF. I should have listened to you. Next time I think of switching plans (always happens during PMS) I will remember your words.

Making large veggie soup to eat today on my DD with mushroom, carrots, parsnips (very hight in carbs, but I am not concerned anymore), onions and bone broth.

You're getting your calm resolve back - I can hear it in your "voice" and that is wonderful. Like Kissa says "Keep calm and carry on."

You have to do what feels right to you Marika

In my case I also don't think the WOE has much to do with whether I will binge or not unfortunately. I am thinking about trying moderate carb again apples, greek yogurt, homemade meat/veggies soups and maybe some sort of gluten free cracker. Apples (honeycrisps) will be short lived as I only like the crunchy variety and around here I can only get them in the fall.

Yeah, I came to the point that I really don't enjoy low carb, at least not every single day. When I stay strict LC and have carb cravings, if I don't act upon them sooner or later I cave on carbs and I basically stuff myself with them (aka binge), it is like I make up for all those days that I did not eat them. I feel that eating more veggies and fruits also fills my stomach nicely. Today I have been eating veggie soup with no protein and I am more than satisfied. I think I need the bulk from veggies to give me the sense of satiation. Meat and eggs don't do it for me anymore.

My colitis is acting up Again totally induced by my binging. It makes me really mad at myself that I let it happened. That's total madness!!! This is one the major reason I want to stop this destructive behavior.

Yeah meat and eggs can be tasty and filling, but I always get to a point where they don't satisfy me anymore. Not necessarily hungry per se, but just not satisfied. I think I will probably alternate m&e with more carbs on the days I know that meat/eggs will not be satisfying.

My scale is crazy this morning. First it showed me 131.8 up after DD so I zero it out and stepped on again and saw 135 , tried again and saw 132. I have recently changed the batteries and this is supposed to be a good scale (Eat Smart). If I have some new batteries at home I will change it again and check otherwise it will be tomorrow. I hope I don't have to buy a new scale now.

Changed the batteries and I am 131.8 (tried few times and also checked 15 lb dumbbell and it was correct). Did not see 135 again . I will go with that number. I guess I am up a little since I am flaring up and the inflammation could be messing up with the numbers, plus I am eating carbs so I am not expecting big drop on the scale. I need to find a spot for my scale. Right now I keep under the dresser and slide it out every day. I need to move it somewhere were the scale stay put because you are not supposed to be moving it.

Just another reason to use the scale as only one benchmark. They are just as moody and contradictory as we are! You know you're having inflammation, so it's not a true measure right now.

I sure hope you can get this colitis flare under control and start feeling better!

I had the most satisfying lunch (high in carbs too).
Roasted veggies (brussel sprouts, fennel, beets, carrots, peppers, parsnips, onions, EVOO) baked at 400F for about 1 hr- yummy!!!
Baked wild salmon
stewed 1 apple (cut up apple cooked with little water).

I have to say I am packed and only had 6 oz salmon fillet. Normally I would eat 10-12 oz and be still hungry after eating it. At this point I don't know how am I going to eat dinner. So far I am at 884 cal for the day. I really don't want to eat too much protein at dinner but than if I eat veggies my carb count will be high. Maybe I will eat some other veggie for dinner, something less carby than my lunch veggies. Oh, what the heck, why am I still concerned with carbs.

I get a little nervous about adding back too many carbs as well! I am trying to not over think, it if I feel like I need some carbs with my meals to feel satisfied then I will have them, otherwise I will still lean more toward meat/eggs type meals. I do know that my belly fat loss will be lots slower unless I eat lower fat with the carbs, but it beats binging.

It seems like I became too liberal with carbs. I just binged and I am not PMSing. This is getting out of hand now. If I can't eat normal quantity of carbs without binging I wont be able able to do JUDDD because I don't wont to restrict calories and carbs at the same time
I know it looks like I am thinking of switching plans but I can't go on like that. I am doing something wrong

Should I quit all dieting? but than how is this going to make difference in my binging? Maybe it will make a difference because previously I never binged outside of PMS and now it seems to happen during other times of the month. I think I am just going to concentrate on exercise and take a break from dieting. Maybe just play with SLD.
I am just scared that I have thought my brain this binging pattern and this happens now out of nowhere, not connected to my hormones

I am really mad at myself. I have no control when it comes to carbs. What is this? Do I have to be strict for 1 year with no carbs to cure myself from this dependency. How can 1 apple lead to 3 apples, 3 muffins and cherry and yogurt smoothie. How can 130 lb women eat so much. I could still eat but I came to my senses...for now....at least.

I was doing SCD (specific carbhydrate diet) for colitis which means no grains, no sugar, no potatoes combined with blood type diet. I am still following all the principles so nothing changed. I came to LCF to see if eating LC will take care of my PMS binges. I was always staying around 125-140. Always gaining weight with PMS binging. I started Atkins in March 2012 at 136 and was doing great, my PMS was almost non-existant. I did not cheat at all even though I was having mild cravings during PMS. Got to 127 lb and stalled. Probably was at my perfect weight but I got little greedy and wanted to lose some more plus wanted to eat some carbs, so I started on JUDDD and from there you know my story... The issue is every time I start on LC again I don't last too long. Probably it is the best WOE for me, but something happened with my binging brain.

Yes, allowed on SCD and BTD. I am not eating anything that is not allowed.

What is scaring me now, Jeanie is that I am not PMSing and binging. This is like a disease.
Deep down I know that only LC can cure me from this because carbs make me crave me more carbs, plain and simple. I just don't know how to white knuckle the cravings plus I am kind of tired of eating protein.
Every time I binge I get really upset with myself. I don't know how to just say it screw it. I m just scared that I will continue tomorrow and jut simply can't afford to do it.

How much of it is a feeling of deprivation realized or not?? What if you ate close to your maintenance calories for a week or so allowing some of the foods you like and that are allowed on SCD and enough protein to balance out the meals. Exercise and don't do any down days. I bet this would at least start taking off some of the water weight and would make you feel less anxious about the recent weight gain. You may still have issues at pms time but maybe that would stop the ongoing issues. God knows I am not the best adviser here but just some thoughts.
