Surprised not see drop after good DD. I know that I did not gain 3 lb after 1 day of binging. I am having sinus pain along with TMI (slight colitis flare up) and I am sure this is contributing to the scale number.

Good UD today but the appetite is not there. It is either SLD kicking in or my sinuses. Short by about 300 cal. Off to make some sautéed mushroom with green chard and maybe that will look appetizing enough. Really want to get close to 1600 just to be well feed for tomorrow

Thank you, Jeanie. When I can get right back on track there is so much less damage. Not always easy though.
I came to conclusion that staying lower to moderate carb is best for my body. I have so much more energy eating lower carb and I feel much better physically. I am totally aware that crazy days are bound to happen during different times of the month. I guess that's how my hormonal machine operates Keeping this in mind I will not beat myself when I binge for a day or two. I pray that I don't have to have to binge again because it is not good for my body. The problem is when I cave on carbs I feel like I messed up already and the guilt pushes me towards stuffing myself with carbs till I am sick of them. I need to learn when to put the break on and stop the guilt. Eating more carbs is OK on some days. There must a reason that body requests it.

I am doing better with not letting one slip turn into an all day binge fest, usually what gets me is the cravings that come in the following days. Sometimes like you said it doesn't end until I am literally sick mentally and physically. There has to be a solution for us out there. Last night I slept poorly and had vivid dreams and am feeling a bit anxious today this means I am going to have crazy hormones swings for at least a week.

So it took me almost a week to get to my pre-binge weight but I am there and hope to get to 125 by the end of this month.

I have been lifting weights since last week and I seem to be back in the grove. Love it! I have been doing 2-3 body parts per day, using mostly Cathe's DVD plus I try to walk everyday for about 1 hr.

Still doing SLD. It works different now than when I first tried it though. I think it helps slightly with my DD. I never used stay that low on my DD calories. But I do feel that staying around 300-400 on DD is not really making me lose any faster than when I was 400-600 few months back. That's kind of interesting because you would think that lower DD will speed the weight loss. The last week was a bit different though because I binged on Tuesday so I might have been recovering from the excess calories, but still it took me almost a week to get to my low weight. Well, I also had some serious DOMS from lifting weights, which could have made the difference on the scale. So the plan is to continue with what I have been doing and if I still feel that staying within 300-400 is not making much difference on the scale I will raise my calories to 400-600. Also, still debating if I should be doing 2 tbl of ghee on DD. That's 240 cal, which is a big chunk of my DD calories. I don't mind doing it on UD. I have been thinking of decreasing from 2 tbl to 2 tsp on DD.

Marika I would tend to agree that 240 calories would be a LOT of food on your down days. I think I would prefer to eat..but then I'm a glutton

Very interesting that lower DD cals don't seem to make that much difference in your losses. Better to eat a little more and not risk feeling so deprived. I'm certain that your DOMS slowed down your losses too. I'll bet you'll see your 125 in just a few rotations.

Wow girl I've been MIA for a bit from your journal....you really know how to turn things around! Great job on recovering from the binge, your body responded really well with JUDD this time around.

Makes me interested in trying something different.....After reading the bit you posted about women needing more carbs it got me thinking how irregular I have been (TOM only really came twice since January!) not to mention weird sleep issues AND a bit of bloat in the mid section all too often (I usually blame it on alcohol and salt though) not sure but maybe JUDD would be helpful in mixing things up for me? At least I'm learning a lot about it from you, thanks for all of your detailed posts!! Is there a book you'd recommend on it?

Hi Jessica. Welcome back! Hope you had a good trip. I will peak in your journal later...

I am really enjoying JUDDD very much. I wish I never dropped out
I have sort of accepted that binges will happen no matter what because that's how my hormones work. I just have to get through them somehow

You can get lots of info on JUDDD from JUDDD forum here. Just look at the stickies and you will learn the basic. The book is called The Alternate-Day Diet by Dr. James Johnson. He will have new book coming out Dec 31st called The Alternate-Day Diet Revised. I think you can learn a lot about JUDDD on this forum if you don't want to buy the book. Ask any questions you have.

Thanks so much for the info!! I found the JUDD threads here, so helpful :-) I'm also toying with carb-cycling since that is something I'm already accustomed to tracking (as opposed to calories). We'll see....not doing anything yet....gonna read more first!
