Wow Cfine, words of wisdom. TBLC you are doing great. I don't think I have ever read about anyone that didn't have a few things to work out.

Keep posting...you are helping a lot of us. (Me anyway)

Happy to report that AS was strong all day yesterday. Yes, I had a bad Wednesday that made me put on 3.8 lb (hopefully mostly water) but I survived 2 weeks of PMS without major hick-cup (sp?) so that's a success in itself. Stepping on the scale shortly...

Doing lots of cooking today. Making bone broth, roasting lamb shoulder in oven , cleaning, laundry, etc.
AS is good today. Little bit more hungry than yesterday, but still good. I did 1 hr walk in the morning. Hopefully soon I can get to below 130. I was almost there few days ago. I think I will be happy with anything below 130 but lower 120's would be ideal for me. Even now I feel like my clothes fit pretty good and my belly is getting flatter. It amazing how couple of pounds can make a difference in the way you look.

WTG TBLC. I did butter a lot last week. And it really helped. Did not do it this week-end and I have eaten more. LC, but just more.

Thanks for sharing your journey.

You're going to be in the 20's before you know it!

My last 2 UDs I've been having PMS (I'm assuming) cravings in the evenings. I know it's exacerbated by my evening cocktail. I've gone over on my UD calories both times and felt my body needed it at the time, but I really don't believe that's true. I've been allowing myself more on DDs lately, so that all can't possibly add up. I'm dedicating myself today to a good, clean DD and a promise that UDs will be controlled going forward.

If this happens again next month, I may think about your SLD technique. Do you think just plain melted butter would work, or would I be better off sticking to CO?

Carol- Those darn hormones can really mess up with our heads. One thing I noticed during my last PMS was that I stopped feeling the head hunger I used to feel before. I was more hungry for "normal" food. I was not interested in my usual carb bonanza. One day I did not enough protein prepared and that's when I have gone crazy with almond muffins (it is not that I was craving them).

Melted butter would work. I do this with ghee, which is clarified butter and it works great. The most important thing is not to taste the butter or oil. You can either clip your nose at the bridge or buy swimmer clips (there are very cheap, $2-5, I got one at amazon). I mix 1 tbl of ghee with little warm water in a glass and drink it, followed by more water. I then rinse my mouth and lips very well with warm water and remove the swimmer clip in a minute or so. I don't taste anything and that's the key. You could do this with refined CO, refined walnut oil, canola (I am not too crazy about this one), extra light olive oil.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if it would work if I didn't do it every day, just maybe several before TOM to deflect the cravings.

That's a good question, Carol. From what I read once the oil is in the system and you stop taking it, it will keep on working for some time. I don't know how long, though. Eventually I will experiment with this once I get closer to my goal weight. I will see if taking it only second half of the cycle would work.

Wow 130.0 ONLY TEN POUNDS AWAY!
Way to gain control and get over that little hump. You are so smart to do all the reading you can, education is #1 in almost every way of eating. Those 3 pounds must have been just water....Great job, we're all learning from you and I do agree writing here keeps us accountable. Keep up the good work!

Got very hungry after dinner. Maybe my set-point is due for adjustment. I made some oopsie rolls (to have tomorrow) and polished them all with salmon and mayo. I don't know it that was smart, but I figured my calories were only about 900 for the last 5 days. So I listed to my body and ended up with about 1900 cal for the day. I did not eat any carbs. If this was a carb craving I don't think I would have caved. Thankfully on SLD carbs don't appeal to me as much anymore. Let's see what the scale shows tomorrow.
