Yes Christine, it is quite efficient. I made it through the grocery store earlier today without anymore collaterable damage done to this body. I found myself standing in the cookie isle just holding a package of star cookies that had chocolate on them. I must have looked pretty foolish just standing there holding them, looking at them. I am grateful they didn't just miraculously jump into my grocery cart before I left the store. Doing alright at the moment in the eating department but not looking for any fast miracles just plugging along in this and see where I can challenge myself to getting healthier. Walked some this morning but need to get on that treadmill and then I will know I am back in gear with some more consistent exercise regime. Thank you for the welcome back, good to be back! How are things in your neck of the woods?

I'm now because I've done the exact same thing while in the store with something I now I shouldn't buy but holding it anyway. Congrats on moving...walking is exercise. My treadmill is doing the same, collecting dust again. Maybe we can challenge each other to start?

Yep, one thing at a time otherwise I get crazy mixed up with all of this. I am my worst enemy. I like the non-scale victories as well Deb, that scale can drive a person batty at times but it is helpful so I don't get tooo carried away with myself.

Good morning Shari! I know I am not alone in this journey I know sooo many others struggle with the daily dealings of cravings and challenges when in the grocery store. I keep telling myself that I know what my triggers are so stop putting them in the cart. Been under quite a bit of stress lately and turnning to food is NOT the answer, I know it in my head but I desperately need to get in my heart and then implement what I know I NEED to do. I am a strange creature this is for sure. I got some walking in yesterday but need to get some vigorious walking in on the treadmill and I for one know it relieves stress as I have voiced to so many others. I hate being in denial about myself but one step at a time and I know I will be in a better frame of mind to get some things accomplished in my weight and more importantly health.

For today I WILL walk on the treadmill 2 miles. Are you in Shari, maybe not 2 miles but some walking on our treadmill? If not it's okay I WILL do it anyway for me. Hey at least it isn't Monday that I said I would start.

Have a Blessed day!

Back to Walking on my Treadmill

Well I got 2 miles done last night on my treadmill. I had to dust the thing down and oil the belt but I was up and walking in no time. I am going to do 1 mile this A.M. and start to get myself into a routine so here I go. Deb, how did it go for you last night in walking? If you didn't get it in, it is all good I am just glad I got myself up and doing something physical.

Have a nice day everyone!

Thanks Melanie, did another 1 mile last night and hubby and I have challenged ourselves to get back to our daily walking routine so I think I am on my way back into an exercise routine. I agree with Amber that the dress with the print on it fits you best for your Saturday conference. Best of luck to you in choosing your outfit.

Glad to see that I can still be of some use to others on this road to bettering ourselves. I need to get a grip around what I really need to eat as to verses what I WANT to eat because my wants are not what I NEED to do. Oh the mind a good servand but a terrible master. It is a struggle to be sure but I WILL work at it daily, not in a hurry this time just taking it daily.

Have a good day Shari!

Eh, it's all happened to us at one time or another that's for sure! I think this year is the first time in years and years that I *wasn't* higher than my starting weight... We just keep moving forward and doing everything we can to improve. Besides, I am having waaaayyyyyy too much fun on the journey!

Have a great afternoon

Well said Danielle and I couldn't agree with you more. Onward and forward is all one can do with the daily dealings with losing this weight. It is good to hear that you are enjoying the company that you are keeping on this journey. I believe I will always be battling my weight even when reaching maintenance whenever that comes. Maintaining weight lost is the hardest thing ever, especially when you are a foodie such as myself. I will work today on improving myself TODAY and allow tomorrow to take care of itself.

Thank you for being a friend and such a support.

Amen sister girl!

Well I guess we will be doing this together forever cause I feel like maintainance will be a challenge too. I am such an emotional eater and I've accepted that about myself. .. its how I choose to battle it that matters. I think learning to accept the things that make us who we are and acknowledging what to change within reason then we are ahead of the game.

I LOVE the company I have on this journey! I wouldn't be here without the people I have in my life and many are from this board. I am thankful for the friendships that have flourished from here. Plus, I have an amazing home life. My hubby and my kids inspire me to keep going and to be my best.

Today is all we can control its up to us with what we do with it. I'm in awesome company with you on my side!

Hey Deb..did I say how glad I am you're back? Your posts are so inspirational. I totally agree, maintenance is the most challenging of this whole weight loss thing. It's hard to even keep the loss I've had in the past...I can certainly anticipate goal to be the same. Like Danielle said, I've found great friendships on this board...we so understand each other.

Family is so important Danielle I would agree. I am so happy for you that you have the support at home and on line as well. All you can do it be the best Danielle that you can be and do your best daily on this weightloss journey. The scale is not the only measure of victories but it certainly is a good tool to help us stay on track. I too am an emotional eater and when bored I do mindless eating and then wake up and wonder what I just did. It is an on going battle and I admit I haven't found the complete answer as to how to stop doing it. I can have great victory and then like an addict return to the behavior with just one bite. "Hi, my name is Maggie and I AM a carb-aholic."." Sad, but true of me and it is a daily battle. More fat, less fat, more protein, less protein it doesn't matter the batte rages within me. I am glad there are others on here who can completely understand and lend a listening ear and a word of advice and support. Thank you for being such a support Danielle, it means alot.

Shari you must miss sweet Deb as well. Ah maintaining the weightloss is the challenge it is a wonder that I have not gotten there totally, probably because of fear. You are doing great Shari and so glad to hear that you are back into those 160's. You will feel great with the new cruise coming up, I wish I were more open to a cruise and being on that vast ocean but it makes me a tad nervous. I think I watched Titanic too much or something. You will be fine and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Monday!

Had a nice weekend with my hubby. We went to see Zero Dark Thirty about the capture of Bin Laden, pretty interesting about how it all went down. Homeland Security worked with the producers and directors on the movie so some if not all of it was true. The next movie we see together will be my choice, it is hard living with a Re-adjustment Counselor,Veteran of the Army and all around Military buff because he likes his military movies. I guess I can't complain we went to see Les Miserables when it came out on Christmas day so that was good and the Hobbit which were my favorites. I believe I am finally getting a better grip on myself in the eating department as well as exercise, I definitely have renewed hope in myself. I am not interested at the moment in what the scale says but know I need it to monitor myself as well. 1 mile this A.M. on the treadmill and my morning is off to a good start, I hope everyone else's is as well.

Have a good Monday!
