My Sweet Journey!

My weightloss problems did not begin when I was a child, but habits from childhood helped me gain weight later on. I was a skinny, skinny kid. I ate whatever I0 wanted and never gained weight. Our family consisted of 3 (my moms) and 2 step brothers for 5 kids total. If you wanted seconds because the servings were not very large, then you had to eat fast. I still eat fast today and as a result can really pack away the food! I always was very active and played sports in school. So what ended up happening at first was at 17 i got married ... dumb I know, and moved with my military husb #1 many states away. I was young, not working and unhappy. as a result, I gained. I am 5'10, I weighed 130 when I moved, a very fit 130. 2 years later I was at 160 and began trying to diet. Stop the Insanity was big back then so I tried to cut fat. It didn't work out so well so I basically starved myself for like a week and then would only eat tiny portions like 2 or 3 bites of something. it kindof worked. I got down to 140 moved back home and divorced. A year later i met DH#2, got pregnant with DD and weighed 200 at delivery in 1996! It took 7 years to lose! I joined a gym, cut calories, ran everyday for an hour... I lost down to 168 and gave up it was too hard and too slow. Then in 2002 I found Atkins and told my mom. She needed to lose 30 lbs and i was up to 174 and wanted to get to 140. we did it together. I got to my goal and so did she, we did it when my DH#2 went to Iraq for a 4 month tour. so I got the little log book that was tracking Atkins for that time period. when he got home i was skinny again. as i was 28 i talked to him about having another child and in 2004 my DS was born. I did much better with that one. I weighed 179 at delivery. lost weight easy afterwards without really dieting either. then i just got lax and fell into old habits. I love sweets and will eat alot. I got up to 178 by 2008 and went back on atkins hardcore. with my daughter and neice they gave up halfway through but in 4 moths i lost down to 142. Then DH#2 screwed things up and i left. I re met an old high school flame online and via text. a mutual friend said he had been searching for me for years. he lived 2000 miles away but drove cross country to visit for a week and ended up staying a month. he went back home and 2 months later flew me out there. then 2 months after that he moved here. we have been together 2 and a half years now and i am so happy. but he cooks alot of good food and all the contentedness had caused me to go to a horrible high of 194! Well that close to the 200 lb mark scared the crap out of me and i started back on atkins June 28th! I weighed 187 this morning and I am on my way and not giving up or doing this all over again! This is it! At 37 my body is already losing slower than the other times! I am never going back!

Had a great dinner. wilted spinich salad with hot bacon dressing, french cut green beans with butter. and smoked pork loin and smoked beef serloin tip roast.

Weighed in this morning at 190. Not sure what is going on, feeling kind of discouraged now. Hopefully this will go down later.

Yesterday when I got home from work I weighed 188. Had sauteed mushrooms, peppers and onions with polish smoked sausage. I did have 3 helpings I didn't eat much all day just a small container of seafood salad for lunch. This morning I was at 190 again... you know what? I also just realized I had 2 handfuls of reeses peices that were on a table in a bowl at the office. Idid it without even thinking about it while I was talking to a coworker. That makes me feel much better. Not that I ate the candy but that there is a reason behind my gain not just a gain for no reason. Wow I really need to be alot more careful about what I eat.

So far today I have had two jack links beef steak nuggets and water and 1 diet pepsi. I am really hungry but have alot to do at work so hope to keep my mind off of it for the rest of the day.

Last night I had beef and pork and mushrooms mixed with cream of mushroom soup. I also ate that for breakfast today. Weighed in at 188. I have not done any measuring since I started so I need to do that today. I will post them later. Maybe if I am losing inches it will help me stay motivated when I don't nessesarily lose pounds.

My quick reply box is gone, I am not sure why or if this post will end up where it is supposed to! Had a great day off yesterday with my kids who are off school. My daughter was at a friends but I picked her up at 2. She was all upset because she is doing lo carb also and ate waffles at her friends. I made breakfats for me and my son. Eggs and bacon and he actually surprised me at lunch by eating a blueberry greek yogurt. He said it was kinda weird but kinda tasted good. Lol. I just grazed on leftover bacon for lunch and later had natural pb with whipped cream. That is a nono for me! I know better! For dinner we were going to have grilled pork steaks but they were freezer burned so I ran to publix they had porterhouse steaks on sale so I got those. We grilled them and had steamed broccoli with melted butter. I could eat steak and brocolli everyday if I could afford it! Still haven't measured I can't find my measuring tape. It is around somewhere! I will do that asap.

I found my tape measure! I also found I also found my atkins journal from 1/15/12 and it has my weight at 192.4 and I was 194 when I started on 6/28/12 this time so the measurements should give me an idea of how many inches I have lost if not more.

weigh 188.2 tonight my bf makes these delicious tacos. normally we brown hamburger and onion then add refried beans and taco seasoning. then in a deep frying pan heat oil and put the mix in corn tortillas then deep fry into a taco shape. then add cheese and toppings after it fries. well.. i decided to tweak some of his recipe just for my tacos. i substituted cream cheese for the refried beans, and used lo carb tortillas 3 net carbs. other than that they were made the same. i added cheese and sour cream. it was a little chewier than his version but still tasty.

I found this stuff at the store last night that may just help with my peanut butter issues. Its called waldens whipped peanut spread. 0 carbs. Not net either just zero carbs. Well I got a little on a spoon and tried it when I got home at first dissapointment my bf laughed at my face he's like tastes like a** right? I said no it tastes alright just the texture is wayyyy off! It is moist and puddinglike. But I always eat peanut butter in a bowl with reddiwhip and some sf caramel syrup. It stalls me bad. But I have also eaten sf pudding the same way dump 2 little cups in a bowl and add the same toppings but sf pudding has too many carbs. Anyway this morning I tried the waldens made up the same way and it was great. The peanut flavor IS milder but may still be a good substitution. I wonder if any of you has tried this product and if so did you have a problem with it?

I had chipolte for lunch a bowl with lettuce,peppers and onions, shredded carnitas (pork), a little fresh cut salsa, sour cream and guacamole. It was really good.

Then my bf made fajitas with skirt steak grilled along with peppers and onions sauteed and fresh grated white chedder and monteray jack. With sour cream. When I weighed myself I was fully clothed with shoes on and weighed the same as I did yesterday without them. 188.2 so hoping for a loss tomorrow but ate alotta food and 1 low carb tortilla so who knows?
This woe can be tough but also the best when you get those whoooshes! I just have to try to be positive and watch the eating iffy foods like the lc tortilla... totally unnecessary my second helping was just on the plate with nothing and it was still delish so I don't need it.

Kindof discouraged today weighed in at 190. Back and forth isn't helping my motivation. Going to be measuring Wednesday so hopefully I've lost inches at least!

Hi, SW2k! Thanks for the info about the whipped peanut butter spread. I had never heard of it. I do miss peanut butter. I have skipped all kinds completely because there's no way I could eat just one tablespoon, so I'll look for this and try it. Are you still liking it, aside from the different texture?

I totally understand about the discouragement, but keep going! I hope you get a boost from your measuring on Wednesday.

Alessandre thanks for your post! Yes I still like it but I would think you'd have to eat it with something or all you would think about is the texture difference. Maybe with celery or carrots or like I do. Its kindof my version of dessert eating it by itself is probably not an option. You never know though. Its made by walden farms and was in the peanut butter section at a publix. I know they sell some walden farms products here so maybe if you can't find it you can order it?

Weight yesterday after work was 188 this morning also 188. I am seeing this as a good sign because the pattern is 188 afternoon and 189 or 190 in the am so the fact that it didn't go up is great maybe a whoosh soon!

No whoosh yet 188. Had to go to the ER after work for some back problems stopped at chipolte and picked up dinner. Ate salad with shredded pork, tomato cheese sour cream and guacamole. Very good stuff!

So this morning I weighed 187.8 still but I was glad because I ate dreamfields lasagna noodles I made lasgna with them. It was very good didn't taste funny at all. So it didn't make me gain like I worried it would. I only ate 1 helping too. Then I weighed myself tonight and 187 even! Whoot! Feeling motivated now that I got away from the 190-188 see saw! I am going to try to remember to use my ****** app faithfully to get my fat intake up higher. I have been reading a thread about it and figure its worth a shot. Does anyone know of anyways to do this other than adding CO? I haven't found any meal plans about it but want to try.

day 1 using ****** to monitor higher fat percentage

So far I am doing well fat 79%/ protein 20%/ carbs 1%
I had.....
Breakfast~1 egg, 3 bacon
snack~ 1 egg, 3 bacon
Lunch~ 2 pieces of land o lakes snack and go colby jack.
DINNER ~not sure yet
drinks; diet pepsi, snapple diet peach tea.

For dinner I had cheeseburgers with no bun mushrooms sauteed in butter ceasar salad with no crutons. I also had macadamia nuts as a snack earlier and after dinner had walden farms peanut spread, whipped cream, sf strawberry topping and sf caramel topping.
My fat % was 79% protein 17% and carb 3% according to ******.
Weight was 188 this am.. hoping this will give me a jump in weight loss adding the fat in.

trying JUDDD with my locarb

Yesterday I decided to incorporate JUDDD with my low carbing. I did a down day yesterday. I found it easier just to wait until dinner to eat and had a 12oz. Pork steak on the grill with 3/4 cup of zuccini sauteed in a mix of olive and truffle oil. Total calories 555 hopefully that wasn't too much but I needed the food by then. It was pretty easy to just wait until dinner. But I don't think I would do as well if I ate early. It makes me hungrier. Anyway I weighed this morning and was at 185 from 189 on Sunday night, whoot! We will see how this goes

Okayyyyy! today is my weighing and measuring day! I am just going to post the new measurements from now on and the inches lost or gained total since it is confusing with all of the weeks numbers! I also have to say that so far I am really loving JUDDD and although I originally wanted to do it low carb for all of it, for now I am just doing Lo carb on the down days. I am finding it difficult to eat enough calories for the UD without Carbs. Yesterday I had an UD and ate 1941 calories and 152g carbs. On just LC this would have made me gain like 3 to 5lbs! I had a DD today and had 419 calories and 7g carb total for the day. This morning after having an UD yesterday, I weighed 186.2 but I have weighed a few times today during my DD and watched it go down each time. I weighed about 3 hours ago when I measured and was at 185 even again, which is what I weighed before my UD started. Amazing! Tomorrow's A.M. weighing will show if I will lose or maintain on this WOE but I am feeling great so far! ok here goes...

Got up this morning and weighed 184! So now I have officially lost 10lbs! Whoooooo! Took almost a month but I am very happy at this point and hope It continues!

Had a great UD yesterday! Today the DD has been brutal so far. Just keep thinking that I can eat a nice dinner tonight! Still at 184 and excited to see the scale tomorrow after this DD!

Had a rough weekend and gained 2lbs. Had to rework my plan and make sure I don't have Downdays on my days off! I fixed the problem and went back down 2 lbs. Today! Looking forward to a great week!

I am doing well on plan weighed in at 184.5 this am. Today is my upday so am looking forward to eating well today. I have been having alot of long days at work lately and this heat is really sapping my energy. I am not sure if its just me getting older or what, I take a one a day womens active metabolism but need to have some energy to get me through the day! I used to drink energy drinks but don't now.

Had a long down day. Worked 2 am to 7pm and didn't eat until after, had the insides of 2 chalupas and 1 taco at taco bell. Without the shells it was 432 with them it was 967.. no brainer I dumped them on a plate. Afterward I had a bowl of waldens pb spread and some reddi whip with sf caramel sauce and some sf strawberry topping. Put me at 532 for the day. Forgot to weigh before I ate so was up from just eating. 186.2 I am sure it will go down in the am.... hopefully

Was 185.7 yesterday. Looked over my weekly stats on my fitpal app and saw I did not get up to my UD calories all week except for yesterday.

Need to get motivated!

I am really just staying around the same weight and although I think Juddd is a great woe I really need to tighted it up on the carbs. I still feel like I will gain with carbs even though some people don't while doing juddd. I also need to get motivated to exercise. I work in a physical job around 60 hours a week and its tiring.
