Janet's Second Wind
My journal got too big!!
This is the continuation of my Janet's Breeze journal. Yay! |
Yay I found you! So I have to admit I am a bit of a cougar myself (ok a lot) In my defense I think that the frenchies and maybe all europeans are just more mature than their american counterparts. I couldn't even imagine dating a 20 something year old american but Frenchie is a doll and acts more mature than me LOL All I know is we must be doing something right. 6 years together now and still just as crazy about each other as ever!
SO glad you are feeling a bit better Janet. I hate when Tom refuses to visit but keeps reminding you he is coming >.> |
I'm here! Before you know it you'll have 15 old journals like Amber. I can't keep up with that woman!
|
Have a great day Janet! :)
|
Thanks everyone! So glad you are here :)
Diane, you are so right about American young men being so different than men from other cultures and countries. It's P's life though :) |
Found you!
Roommates....let's just say hubby is lucky I put up with him! |
Kitty, glad you are here!
I have been eating so clean and added coconut oil back into my diet this week (which my body apparently loves) and was rewarded with a drop of three pounds yesterday. So happy that finally the scale is moving! |
Woo hoo!!!! :jumpjoy:
What kind of CO do you use? And how do you incorporate it into your meals? |
Daily in my coffee! Won't go without! Yay on the 3!
|
I use Nutiva and just eat it by the tablespoon full.
Love the taste and right now being so warm, it's liquid enough that I can just swallow it. I really feel it helps me to stay full longer and speeds my weight loss. I'm trying to find what keeps me in ketosis and am realizing that the lower the carbs and the higher the fat, the better I feel and faster I lose. |
Does it taste coconutty? I'm not sure I could just swallow it plain
Kitty, does it make your coffee real oily? I'm very intrigued by all this CO business. |
It is at first, then, you get used to it. If you do this, start small...a tsp a day at first, then build up slowly. I get the spectrum refined...no coconut taste. I love coffee with it now. Someone said it binds or something to the acids...not sure now...will have to look back, but it is good! Co, liquid Splenda and caramel davincis! No cream for me....never did cream though.
I find I don't get hungry now too! Can go on just co! |

Danielle, I totally agree with Kitty. It does take some getting used to, the oily feeling in my mouth was a little offputting at first but I take mine right off the spoon. Now, I enjoy it.
It smells more coconutty than tastes, if that makes sense. Doesn't really taste like anything to me. |
So this weekend I discovered the joy that is low carb stromboli!!!
Took a low carb lawash (flat bread) did an egg wash on both sides, and filled it with a combo of ricota, mozzarella, parm, mushrooms and pepperoni. Heated a little tomato puree for a sauce and VOILA!!! YUMMY goodness! So good we had it two nights in a row! One stromboli if super filling and with a small salad was plenty of of meal. K reminded me that I used to do all sorts of low carb treats, like the cinnamon/splenda pork rinds and coconut bark. Need to get back into doing that again to keep my family happy :) Scale was back up a little today to 179 but I think I am retaining water. So I am drinking up today!! |
Mmmm that meal sounds yummy! Come cook for meee
Oh and I found you! I was wondering where your journal got to! |
Sounds yummy!
|
yay Tiggy, you found me :D
I am frustrated with my scale. I have been eating super clean this past week and the scale has stopped moving. I dropped to 177 but it bounced back up to 179 and has stayed there. I am eating more along the lines of EFGT, with my fat % being at 80% and my daily calorie intake is about 1400-1500. I can't drop any lower than that without feeling extremely hungry. My daily carbs count is 20 on my highest days. The only thing I have changed is adding coconut oil to my diet this week. When I first added it, I dropped. Nothing since then. So today I am skipping the coconut oil to see what happens. We will see if it makes any difference. |
Right there with ya honey :hugs: Hang in there!
|
Thanks Danielle :hugs:
Stinks when we are doing everything like are supposed to be and nothing happens. |

I do think you have been eating too few calories though. 750 isn't enough to sustain you on an everyday basis.
Maybe try calorie cycling, kind of like JUDDD, mixing it up each day? One day eat 750, the next eat 1300. Worth a shot! |
Yeah I upped calories yesterday. I am really rebelling at having to actually count anything. It becomes extremely obsessive for me and that has me worried that that's what my life will consist of. There's worse things to worry about, I know....I. Just. Don't. Like. It. Suck it up lady! :p
|
I totally get that. It's easy to become obsessive about it - I do the same thing. Then I start down the slippery slope of bargaining with myself ... "If I don't eat this now, I can eat that later." Gah. Usually involves stuff I'm not supposed to be eating like ice cream!
|
Ahh bargaining and rationalising. And obsessing! FUN FUN! Will be interesting to see your long term results on the new eating plan janet. I am a big proponent of high fat and have been for many years.
|
The scale has MOVED!!! Dropped a half of a pound! Down to 178.5 and I am claiming it!
The high fat eating leaves me feeling so full but I still get head hunger if that makes sense. I think about having a real Coke, or something carby. It's not a craving per se, it's just me thinking, "Oh, I want that." Eating this way makes it incredibly easy to resist that. This is the first time really that I HAVE been able to resist it. Now if the scale keeps dropping, I will have it made! |
:jumpjoy:
|
:jumpjoy: Claim it girly!!!!
Started upping my fat yesterday big time, I hope the scale rewards me for this. Haven't weighed yet so we shall see! |
Thanks! :D
Today I am craving a Coke super bad for some reason. I have never been a huge soda drinker, but WANT one right now!!! |
Are you still doing coconut oil? I herd lots about it and now I have a jar of it and am not really sure what to do with it. Yay on the high fat! If only the country thought of carbs the same way they thought of fat, right?
