Yay a Martini sighting too!
So, I'm trying the circadian rythym reset (Thanks Pooti) and so far it's interesting. My eating window is between 11am and 7pm. I have tried to eliminate as much light as possible from my bedroom and have gone to bed/got up at the same time. Please keep in mind this has only been for two days! So far, I don't feel any different. I'm going to give it at least a month to see if I feel any difference. |

Ang, I tried a sleep mask. Was a cheapie one from CVS and drove me nuts. made my face too hot and I couldn't get comfortable.
I also can't do ear plugs as I would never hear my alarm in the AM! I'd sleep till noon ![]() |

I am stressed.
K found out today that there is a possible job offer on the table for her that would mean us moving back to Chicago in the next few months. I really love the company we both work for, but hate that she gets moved every year or two. We have only been here a year - I was hoping for at least one more year here before having to move again. So, we are having pizza for dinner. I am stressed - she is beyond stressed. Start over again tomorrow. |

Aw, big stress! Enjoy your pizza guilt free, it's hardly the worst you can do. Start it back up again tomorrow. I just want to hug you and pat you gently on the back. It will be okay! Thankfully you both have jobs and (more importantly) each other. You can turn this shocking dismay into lets-do-this-**** strength in no time.

Janet we got the room darkening shades at Home Depot holy crap what a difference, Tony has sleep issues and he is sleeping much better now with them, I know you rent but for a good nights sleep it is worth it. WOW that is stressful about K's job, but she must be important for them to keep moving her, so it is good she has a good career! It will all work out it always does!

Amber, I have the darkening shades and they do help a lot. My problem is that I live in an old place and there is a huge gap under the bedroom door - about 2 inches. With no light on outside the door it's no problem, but with a light on in the hall or another room, it's like a beacon of light!
Putting a pillow against the bottom of the door is working beautifully though, so no complaints from me. K does have a great career and I will do whatever it takes to support her in that. My career comes second, that's a choice I made a long time ago and I am very happy with that. I just really am not looking forward to moving yet again. It's only been a year since our last move and now we have P. Stresses me to think about it. |

Success is knowing when to double down and resist cheating and knowing when it's ok, to just endulge without stress. No worries sweetie!! This new stress does not need to derail your efforts. At this point it's only water weight!!! There are new opportunities everywhere and you just don't know what lay around the bend hon!!!

OMG Janet I forgot about the P situation!!! LOL Moving sucks, although if I could sell my house I would be thrilled to move, we have not had a showing in months, everything is just stalled here, we so need a bigger place, but with getting laid off O said thank goodness we didnt move, or it would have been hard.

It's ok that P will be coming with us - in Chicago there are lots more opportunities for her to put her degrees to use and get a real job.
The cost of living there is much higher than I remember (lived there about 8 years ago) and I am having a hard time finding what I want, in the location I want, in the price range I want. I am looking for 3 bed, 2 bath, with washer/dryer hookups, preferably under $1200 a month. It doesn't seem to be happening. Please know that I am not looking even close to downtown but more in the western suburbs. Frustrating. |

Oh Amber - wish I could!!!
Thanks for that Pooti. Danielle, thanks ![]() I don't mind Chicago. As long as I don't have to live downtown I'm ok. And I don't/can't/won't buy because we move entirely too often. PLus my credit isn't good at all. ![]() We will get through this though - we always do. |

Well. We are not moving.
I am so pissed about it too. I am absolutely pissed that K's boss got her hopes up and then let her down. She now feels like the reason she didn't get the position is because she is bad at her job which is absolutely not true. She is the person on the short list to train employees company-wide. Why bring the offer up if you aren't serious about it? Makes me so mad for her and her esteem has really taken a blow. ![]() |

to K. What a douche bag? I hate when people tell me something then let me down. SUCKS. Hopefully she realizes not to judge her hard work ethic by that situation. I am sure she is FAR from being bad at her job. Have a great day Janet. ![]() |

Thanks Dani
![]() She is getting there. I'm trying to change up my eating and up my fat intake to 80%. It's so hard! It's a real struggle to not eat a zillion calories a day trying to get my fat that high and keep my protein and carbs low. |

Janet I am convinced the only way I lose weight is pure fat, then I am tired as crap at the gym, so I am stuck, it sucks, but usually upping fat works as long as you stick to VLC!

Ok, I'm learning that in order to get my fat % up while keeping my protein low, I need to drink my fat.
This means HWC, almond milk, coconut milk, CO, etc. That part is tough. Even fatty meats have loads of protein, but choosing bacon and hamburger over chicken has helped. Mayonaise and butter are great too. My menu for today is: B - Coffee w/ HWC and CO L - Taco meat w/ lettuce and shredded cheese D - Shake made with Coconut milk and HWC, almonds My caloric intake will be about 1400. Fat % - 82% Protein% - 10% Carbs% - 8% I want to give this a real try before deciding if it's working or not. Some people eating this way are seeing 3-4 pounds drop overnight - I'm not, but I am a slow loser. I don't know how sustainable this will be as a lifestyle. Low carb is my lifestyle choice. I do think that this high fat will get the weight off of me though, and then I can maintain with low carb. I found the most wonderful recipe for a super easy blender hollandaise sauce that is simply divine. I'm so sorry - I can't remember where I first saw it and can't give credit. 3 egg yolks 1-2 tbls lemon juice salt to taste Put in blender and while blending, add 1 cup melted butter. Mixture will elmusify while blending and makes the most wonderful thick creamy sauce. High fat too! Last edited by janetsbreeze; 09-06-2012 at 07:47 AM.. |
