Well, I have come slinking back in.
I fell off the wagon again and have been having a carb filled binge fest for the last week. This is turn made me feel sorry for myself, while led to eating more carbs, and you know the rest.

I am so tired of doing this to myself. I'm tired of being fat and feeling so run down and achy. My weight is up to 181 and my biggest fear is that I will regain all that I have lost.

Looking back over my journal, I can see that I did the best when I journaled my daily menus. I think I need to go back to this and be more accountable. I do track everything on an online tracker, but for soem reason, it's not the same for me.

So, again, starting over.
Self sabatoge sucks.

Ok, so day one of accountability.

Weight 181
B - Coffee w/ HWC
L - Salad w/ Bacon, lettuce, tomato, mozz cheese, and ranch dressing
D - Bratwurst w/ same salad as above
Snack - Peanut butter

So, let's look at what I did right. No sugars, no carby treats, no ice cream/chips/donuts/etc. All good things!
Now, let's look at what I did wrong. I ate a TON of sodium with all that bacon. I also ate way too much food. My calories totaled about 2000. The peanut butter put me over the top and I may have to throw it out to make sure it's not a temptation.

So, not a horrible start. Not a great one, but could have been much worse.

I think you did great, Janet. In the grand scheme of things, how much bacon did you really eat in a salad? I don't exactly have visions of you packing on a pound of bacon on top of salad. As long as you're drinkin that water I'd think you'd be okay. Keep it up chicky...one day at a time!

Seriously, I think I ate 8-9 pieces all total. That's a lot of bacon for me!
I could have put a pound on there - I love bacon!

One day at a time is right!

I DO TOO!!! I don't buy it often for that very reason.. love it in salads especially and have never been successful to not eat any when I'm making it

Day 2 -

Did not weigh
B - Coffee w/ HWC
L - greek yogurt, salad w/ bacon, ranch dressing, tomatoes
D - scrambed eggs w/ coconut oil
Snack - peanut butter.

Again with the peanut butter. I threw the jar away last night. No more excuses.
I have a pantry full of LC goodness and a fridge full of meats, cheeses, and veggies.
It's getting better and easier, and I am trying to take it one day at a time.

And, TOM showed up. Maybe explains my crazy cravings.

Pooti, isn't that how it always works? Go buy food and then don't want to prepare it. With me, it's going to the store hungry and buying one of everything in the entire store.

Day Three:
Did not weigh (plan on weighing tomorrow)
B - Coffee w/ HWC
L - Chicken salad
D - Rotisserie chicken w/ ranch dressing, salad of lettuce and tomatos w/ Walden Farm's Thousand Island dressing

Eating was great today. We tried the thousand island dressing just to see what it was like and it's not bad at all. I think it's so funny that is has zero everything in it. K asked me that if it has no fat, no carbs, no nothing when what's it made of???

My hands are still super swollen so I don't know that the scale has moved. Tomorrow I will weigh after sleeping in - that's about all the excitement I can handle right now!

P is back home after her time away with her family. And you know what? As much as I enjoyed her being away, it's nice having her back too. She is glad to be back and I think has finally broken things off with her boytoy. Thank goodness as he treats her like crap. We will see if it sticks.

Hi Janet!
I'm here for you, just popping in and out alot because things have been super busy. You are stronger than you think you are. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will get right back on track.

I'm always looking for a new dressing. I'll give the WF one a try. Lately I've been mixing ranch with salsa just for a little change.

Laura, thanks Hope things slow down for you some!

I am in a funk lately. Eating clean and the scale is not moving an ounce. This leads to thinking like, "Why should I bother to eat well if the scale is not moving? Why can't I just live on ice cream?"
So, I'm working on that.

P and K are not getting along today which is an additional stress. Gah.

Insulate yourself hon. Find a quiet place in the house or outside the house and call it your Happy Place! Go there, even if it's just in your mind, and hang out!!

All the stress you're under makes it hard to control feeding to comfort. Remember, though, it's much harder to binge (not impossible, just harder), when your tummy is full and well-fed. The one thing you can control in all this, is how you nourish yourself (mind, body and spirit). And who knows, maybe your peace can rub off. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy and this stuff does tend to spread in a house! Chaos begets chaos!

Love ya! MUAH!

Thanks all. I am doing better today - the scale actually moved. So much depends on the stupid number doesn't it?

K is under enormous pressure at work and it's spilling over into home life. To be expected, but it's putting strain on everything right now. This too shall pass, I know.

Yay for the scale moving!

I've been swamped at work lately too and it does spill over even when I tell myself not to let that happen. Last night I had to work late (again) and when I went downstairs (I work from home) I was met with "when are we eating? I'm starving!" and I snapped. I just felt overwhelmed and couldn't even take a breath without having to immediately start dinner.

I managed to lose 2 pounds this week which was a huge surprise for me. I didn't thik the scale was going to do anything at all for me. I'm now officially down to 179.

I really need to incorporate some excersise. I feel better and look better when I work out but I am inherantly lazy in that respect.

Oh, I hear you on the working out issues. I have been very lazy this summer, skipping my morning walks most days because it's been so hot despite the fact that I have a perfectly good ellliptical that I should be getting on instead. It's time to re-establish my fitness goals.

I found that Joyce Vedral has a bunch of DVDs out there - I did not know this! I kept in great shape working out with her book "Definition" years and years ago. I think I might try out one of the DVDs - they aren't terribly expensive. Then I just have to get off my butt and DO IT!

Still eating on plan - all is good there but I didn't weigh today. A pound gone a week is all I ask for.

I think I may be having issues with carpal tunnel in my right hand/wrist. I got a brace from the drug store and can't tell if it's helping. The brace supports my hand but makes me hold my whole arm at a funny angle and then my back and neck hurt. Trade one hurt for another.

Lastly, I am ordering some new glasses off of Zenni Optical. The site says it can take about 4 weeks to get here and I am so excited to get them. It's usually about $400 for my glasses and that's after my insurance. On Zenni, they are $60 which is right at my budget.

Janet, my mom was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after being told for years that it was osteo in her hands. She now has two fingers that are frozen and we are working on getting help from a rheumatologist to get her on some meds that will help. It might be worth it for you to get a blood test to check for RA just in case it's not carpal tunnel. For many women the symptoms start in the hands. I am going for my RA blood test this month because I have stiffness in both my middle fingers and that's how my mom's started.
