Thanks - it makes me very happy!!
It wasn't the best weekend. P was sick and parked on the recliner in the livingroom all weekend. She gets sick a lot - averages one cold/flu/something a month. I really look forward to my Saturdays as my day to decompress - no one is home, I can do laundry in my pjs and watch trash TV. I wasn't able to do that at all and feel a little wound up and stressed because of it. She is going to the dr today, thank goodness, because I need her to go back to work for my sanity. Forgive me for sounding selfish and self-centered but I so did not want a 43 year old daughter. I did come up with a fabulous recipr for individual cheesecakes! I found dispoasble aluminum tart tins (about 4 inches across). For the crust, I mixed almond fliur with butter to make a dough, then baked a thin layer in each tin. I mixed in packet of cream cheese with 1 packet of Crystal Lite Lemonade made with Truvia (Awesome stuff), a little HWC, and a spash of Torani SF Vanilla. After my crusts had cooled, I spooned the mix into each tin and put into the refridgerator to set up. They were so yummy, and super low carb. I figured at 450 calories and 6 carbs. Melissa, it was so good and because I opnly made 3 mini ones, it was easy not to be tempted to go overboard.
I am still plugging along with my EFGT ratios, keeping the fat high, the protein low and the carbs minimal. I am still trying to keep my calorie intake at around 1300. Sometimes it's a little higher but that's ok. It's getting easier and K has noticed a difference in my eating, She now asks is I want veggies or salad with dinner or if I've eaten all my carbs for the day. PLus, yesterday we walked for two hours in a gorgeous forest preserve. I totally feel it today! |

Janet- here you are!!! Man I go away and I come back and the new journal is the place to be!! Dude we must talk 50 shades I crammed them all in, I liked Christian and started to hate Ana?? What did you think? Now I got that Nook and I am hooked I am so glad he got that free with his tires he bought, I need good cheesy romance novels, once I get through all this State Farm stuff I want to tear it up and read some more. I downloaded 2 cheesy ones, that were short reads for the ride home, you are my book go to girl, and D is my movie gal! I forget that I saw the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo the Swedish version of the movie, I liked that one better, so now we are waiting for the other 2.
OK that is all, I am glad you are enjoying LC again, I am doing it too, I was just thinking it has been over a year since I did VLC, WTH did I eat for a year when I was losing? I gotta find things that make me happy.

Hey there Janet. Sounds like a nice walk in the forest. I would have loved that.
I tend to be sick a LOT and I know I have to drive my hubby crazy with it. It's so difficult. I can imagine it would be a burden to have to give up your alone time to deal with that too. I hope she gets better soon and you can have your trash tv day again LOL! |

Amber, glad you found me! Would you believe I haven't read 50 shades yet? I'm not sure why - I just haven't. I need to get on the bandwagon!
Diane, I sound like such a b**** when I complain about P. I know that I do. It's totally not her fault that she is sick, and I know that. I just value my alone time - I'm selfish I guess. We watched trash TV together last night so I got my fix! And, TOM decided to show. I had no PMS symptoms which is a marvel. I would continue eating this way for that alone! |

Tig- thanks for finding that, I was trying to think about what I ate I will say I think working it is easier to control what you eat sitting around here I tend to think about food more often. I need to get some of those cracker barell slices again, I did love them and that was portion control.
Janet- I forgot to ask how the heck long is P staying this time? I still dont like that she is there for goodness sake!!! |

Ya those cheese slices are awesome. I miss them!
Ok janet - remember like a billion years ago when I said I would try out that Yoga for regular guys - diamond dallas page stuff? Well. I've done the core moves video to learn wth to do, and tonight did the intro video (there are like 8ish short ones in the set I have). It was VERY doable. Anyone can do them - really. You can really control how hard you make it via the dynamic resistance stuff, and if you modify the lunges and other positions. I did most of the lunge based work on one knee and will work up to it. He doesn't do traditional yoga by any means, but the moves are rather similar. Unlike most yoga, he doesn't make you sit in a pose until you want to scream - its a pretty quick transition from set to set. I'm going to give the intro tape (energy!) a 2 thumbs up for the inflexible, outta shape and severely overweight. |

Tig, thanks so much for letting me know about the yoga. I so want to order the tapes, but money is a little tight right now and I will have to wait a little while. Then it's just a matter of making myself do it which is a whole other problem
![]() Amber, P is staying indefinitely. I know, you don't have to say anything. ![]() Yesterday was a rough day for me eating wise. I ate close to 2000 calories and 60 carbs. I could not stop eating and am blaming TOM. Melissa, I totally agree about the PMS. Not me, everyone else just loses their minds once a month. ![]() |

Hope you are having a good day Janet
This yoga is unlike any other yoga I have done, but I like it. The fact it is only 20 minutes (you combine the videos later so you do like 2 @ 20 minutes) and it goes fast helps a lot for the motivationally challenged among us. |

I need to get those yoga tapes!!!
So, karma bit me in tha a$$. All my kvetching about P being sick and guess what - now I have it. Woke up with a throat full of razorblades and no voice after going to bed at 7pm last night. And the scale is up. The only reason I can think of is that I have eaten Atkin's bars for the last two night as I didn't feel good and was looking for comfort food. Blegh. |

Its not karma, its just living in the house with a germ carrying low immune person bringing it to you. Ug!
Feel better soon and don't worry about the scale while you are sick. |

Well make her take care of you!!! LOL I had that and then when I lost my voice, that sore throat was the worst though, so get checked, in case you need meds!
Yoga is great exercise, for one it is good for people who cant stand the jarring on their joints, and you go at your own pace, if you cant hold a position for 30 secs to start work up to it, but at least it is a start!! I find it very mentally relaxing! |

I am home from work today, which I hate. I always feel super guilty when I call in sick even though I never abuse my sick days. My throat is just raw and I've lost my voice.
But I was smart enough to get sugar free cough drops and cough syrup! My plan is to sit on the couch, take a nap, and play on the computer. Sounds like a great day if only I didn't feel awful! |
